Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 202 - Heaven In Hell

Klautz suspicion was spot on.

'There was no mistake on my part.'

Klautz had began to belittle himself when he couldn't figure out the murder. But matters weren't so simple. Had it been so, Akihiko wouldn't have gone through such lengths.

Klautz turned towards Akihiko as he gave off a wry smile.

"Aren't I alive because I was never attacked? As you saw I had used a sheet to partition the room into two and the attacker never crossed the partition," Klautz continued, "And wait! How many newbies has this person killed?"

Klautz got a new and interesting piece of information. Something that proved all of his previous assumptions wrong.

Akihiko squinted his eyes.

"Many, that's all I can say for now," Akihiko whispered.

Akihiko sighed, causing Klautz to go into a turmoil.

It was no longer a question about why the woman was killed. It was now a question about why the newbies were being targeted.

"This is not the first time something like this has happened in hell… but the situation was always brought to control by us. But this time…" Akihiko continued, "It's out of control. We have no clues or leads to the attacker. All we know is that everytime a quarter is attacked, both the residents are killed."

Klautz held onto his chin. He could only thank Akihiko for the information that he got so far. And Klautz knew that there was no point in asking for more. This was a high level disorder and can create chaos in hell. As such most contents would be better kept secret.

Klautz doesn't want to be killed for 'knowing too much'.

"Hmmm, maybe because we were having sex that the attacker didn't come to attack us." Klautz claimed.

Akihiko could only scoff to such a claim.

"Ha Ha, nice joke." even his laughter oozed out of sarcasm. But it was uncorning to Klautz as to what he thought.

"Whatever," Klautz shrugged, " I don't care a bit. Just do your job and find the murderer fast. It's mentally taxing to stay up all night waiting for a possible attack."

Akihiko sighed.

"Are you sure you saw nothing there?" he asked.

Klautz nodded.

"Nothing at all. It was almost like a ghost had come to kill the woman. Before I could even realize the flow of blood, the woman was already dead."

Akihiko sighed.

"This is n;t helping me in any way," he whispered.

Klautz nodded.

From ther very start he had little to no information. And what he told Akihiko was probably somethingt hat Akihiko already knew.

"I am sorry. But that's all I knew." Klautz claimed.

He didn't lie. For his pupils never constricted to show the change. He had given all the information he had to Akihiko just as the man wanted. And Klautz knew that there was little to no value in the data that Akihiko had received from him.

'Instead I would be the one who would be drawing information from you.'

Klautz raised his brows.

"Do murders happen only during the night?"

Akihiko nodded.

"It seems so. Though had it been at the hotspots we wouldn't have been this concerned."

Death while grinding could be passed off as an accident but murders at the darkenss of the night could not. If fact, that was the only proxy they had to lie to the public about the genocides. Murders done would be passed off as accidents.

Every year murders like the one this time did happen. There was always some homicide among the newbies out to kill the others. Driven in a place like hell does a good job in bringing out their inner demons.

It is in the wilderness like hell, that people let loose. We have them around us all the time, the ones with the crooked brain. But in the dawn of civilization, they are hidden from the public eye, forced to control their urges cause of the fear of law and order.

'But in hell, there is no order.'

Every year, people like Gozoto and Armond always catch the murderer before things get too south. The few deaths that do happen are always faked as deaths during grinding by the beasts.

'It is only that this time, the murderer is hard to catch,' Akihiko thought.

He sighed as he left the room leaving KLautz and Verona behind.

Klautz's gaze shifted from the door and then back at Verona.

'I should be going after him but…'

Klautz tilted his head to get a better view of the beautiful face in the dawn of the moonlight.

Technically, he should be stalking Akihiko at the moment to get more information. Hoping he wouldn't get caught with his low stats.

But how could he do so? Wouldn't that leave Verona vulnerable to an attack? The murderer was on the loose.

Klautz sighed as he gazed out of the window. The night sky gilded with stars dawned upon the land of hell.

It was in such starry nights that he was driven on many missions alike in his past life. And it was in such starry night that he had left his fellow ninjas behind to rot and die for the sake of some high stake missions that needed to be completed despite the sacrifice.

How could Klautz make the same mistakes again? How could he walk the same path again?

Klautz shook his head.

'No I can't leave her like this.'

Klautz had promised to stay by her side tonight. Klautz realized that his own words had become his shackles that restricted him and pulled him towards her.

Klautz sighed.

With no other option he walked up to her and plunged his face into her breasts. No words were enough to explain how much comfort he felt through her. It was a heavenly experience.

'This is the best.'
