Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 179 - Approaching Shadow

"Shizu," Akihiko whispered.

The hint didn't pass unnoticed to Akihiko. To Akihiko, the appearance of Shizu so early in the game wasn't really troublesome. For all he assumed was that Shizu wanted to start early to get stronger.

That was what Akihiko had assumed. But was that all? Things aren't always what they seem.

But that doesn't change the ground facts. Shizu was rather on the weaker side among the second Gens.

"Fine. It would be fun to see you lose again." Akihiko smirked.

Klautz rolled his eyes.

"Oh please. I am going to win this," he continued. "And do you know what's more? I would be doing this without even having any rivals!"

Klautz didn't fail to annoy Akihiko more. Akihiko flared his nostrils as he left. He was sure of his victory as there was a smug on his face.

'There is no way he can do this. But I am still curious as to what cards he would use.'

The ninjas of hell had a lot of cards under their belt for speed grinding. As their primary aim was to fight humans, not monsters.

Many vials and potions were made for the same. Akihiko assumed that Klautz was going to use such a trick of his own. He couldn't help but be interested.

Little did Akihiko know that Klautz was already twice the strength of what he assumed him to be.

As Klautz watched Akihiko leave, the event of his mysterious death was once again rejuvenated in his brain. Klautz had no idea how he died.

'Akihiko isn't a fool by normal standards nor is he a weakling. He is just someone who is obsessed and overly proud.'

Yes, Klautz believed that Akihiko was rather smart. Though he never compared Akihiko to himself. Klautz's wits were a result of decades spent in hell facing dangers every day. Not everyone can possess such adaptability as him.

Had Akihiko been a fool he would never have been able to cause so much trouble to Klautz.

Not to mention, it was only because he was against someone like Klautz that he was failing over and over again. Yet how he was tricked to death remained a mystery.

"I would be lying if I claimed that I am not curious. But I have no plans to save him. His dying is good for the humans as a whole."

Klautz nodded.

"But he must not die now either... He must live. Until Maebi completes her training under him."

Klautz couldn't deny it but only Akihiko was suited to training Maebi. The results of his training had shone like gold in his past life. Klautz knew this better than anyone else.

Klautz was worried that he was involving himself too much with Akihiko and that might cause a butterfly effect changing his fate. This was all the reason why Klautz cannot afford to reveal his cards to Akihiko.

Kluatz must remain as 'just another newbie' to him.

Klautz walked back to his group.

'At least he didn't seem like he would be following me anymore.'

Klautz smirked. Isn't that what he wanted? His situation doesn't get any better than before. But at least now he doesn't have to worry about someone looming over his head trying to learn of his demonic classes.

The group followed back to the forest of roots. Somehow Shizu had some kind of attachment with this hotspot for grinding monsters. Since they were basically without any watchers or guards, Shizu is the one guiding them.

Well, that doesn't mean that Klautz won't be branching off from them. Klautz was just waiting for something or rather someone.

'She must be here soon enough.'

Three giant bears hopped up and they chased after the group. They charged towards them obliterating everything that came in their way.

*Spark*

As usual, Shizu came up to the front to defend the group. But by some miracle, Klautz walked up too. Usually, he would just dodge the oncoming beasts, not bothering to fight. Beasts that didn't drop any stats had little value to him.

"Take out the left one. The right one is mine," Klautz claimed.

He charged towards the beast as his Tossias's Demonic spirit wriggled out of him. Leaping in the air he twisted his body diagonally laying his sword along the beast's neck all the while swinging in the air.

He grasped onto one of the roots hanging from the tree and slid down owing to gravity. As he went down his sword went down as well. Owing to his strength it cut the beast's neck like butter. Blood oozed out of the cut.

Before Klautz could even land on the forest floor, the head of the beast was decapitated.

*Thud*

The beast's torso fell along with its head that was now eating dust. With the sound of the beast falling Shizu had her attention turned back to Klautz side.

"He isn't bad," she whispered.

What intrigued her wasn't the fact that Klautz had killed it. Rather it was something else.

Any newbie can kill a beast or two in this forest. It was meant for the newbies to grind anyway. Shizu herself was just passing her time here. But rather what was astonishing was the fact that Klautz could kill the beast so fast.

It had been just a moment since she herself killed the one assigned to her that she turned around and found the one Klautz was handling was dead.

Shizu nodded.

But she hadn't seen how easily Klautz's sword pierced it. Had she seen she would have known that Klautz sword was as good as hers or even higher by now.

*swish*

Klautz saw a shadow approaching them from a distance.

Selena and Verona were still fighting the third bear while the second one was on the ground eating dust. Already electrocuted with Shizu's thunder beyond what it could endure, its life had come to an end.
