Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 173 - Big Fish

Reena's gaze followed him as he departed.

Klautz waved his hand at her, knowing she would be staring at him.

It was the kind of reaction he anticipated from someone like her.

It was a casual goodbye.

But he left Reena all worried.

"Should I put my faith in him?" She questioned herself. However, if obtaining answers had been so simple, the world would not have been such a harsh place.

Klautz appeared to her to be a man who would go to any length to achieve his objectives. Anything! If the situation requires it, he would even put her life in jeopardy. Hell! He appeared to be unconcerned about his personal well-being. Unconcerned about his own life!

Klautz, on the other hand, appeared to be moving in the direction he desired. Isn't it true that the majority of newcomers have no idea where they're going? The same might be said of Reena. She was surviving every day, but unlike Klautz, she was not going anywhere in the long run.

Her gut instinct told her that if this kept up, she'd be annihilated sooner or later. She felt compelled to follow Klautz's path. She was eager to do so. Klautz was the polar opposite of those who had abandoned her.

"What should I do?"

For the first time in her life, her gut instincts failed her. What was this bizarre pounding sensation she was experiencing? She felt compelled to follow him as he walked away. She aspired to lead her life in the same way that he had.

She had no idea that her instincts were guiding her in the proper route.

She had a gut feeling that Klautz meant what he said. But, the events that had occurred in her life had caused a gaping hole in her heart. Her heart was having a hard time believing it.

Yet Reena couldn't bring herself to follow him.

How could she? She'd had a lot of condolences previously, but they were all falsehoods. Despite the fact that they considered themselves her "friends," they all abandoned her in the end.

Her heart was in turmoil.

Should she rely on Klautz at all? Because every time she tried before, she was met with disappointment.

For a youngster like her, the world of Hell was unfit for survival. Despite this, she was quite formidable for her age and managed to survive.

"Mister..."

Her pupils shook.

Klautz was still deliberating over what was going on. Someone was tightening the strings far further than he could have imagined.

"One thing is for sure. Gozoto knows about her. Yet why would he do this? "

Gozoto was the one who had carried out everyone's checkups. If the information about Reena's class was to go to anyone, Gozoto would be the first one to receive it. Yet he was fabricating it. Hiding it from all of the guilds. Does he not fear death?

"But why would Gozoto do something like this?"

Hiding the information isn't going to help him at all. Gozoto was merely an independent hunter. There's just one reason he'd do something like this. There was just one possible scenario.

'Some guild must be paying him handsomely,' Klautz could see no other way. There were forces much greater than Gozoto involved in this.

There was something amiss with the situation as a whole. Klautz couldn't help but have his brows twitch.

Usually, KLautz wouldn't have bothered with such a situation. But in this case...

"I smell an opportunity. There is a chance to have a rather big fish trapped, "Klautz whispered.

It couldn't possibly be Gozoto's fault alone. It appeared as if a guild head was involved. Perhaps they noticed something in Reena that piqued their interest. Who knows? Even Klautz was intrigued by the likes of her.

However, the cause for this remains a mystery. Perhaps they want her abilities for themselves.

But defending her and saving her from peril. They did something that would anger all of the guilds if the matter were to be revealed. They would be doing nothing but bringing their doom. That being the case, they must be doing it in absolute secrecy.

In such a scenario, if they figured out that a newbie knew of their secrets, what would they normally do?

"They would go to any means to shut him up. They wouldn't even wait to kill him if possible without drawing trouble. "

And it was there that Klautz spotted his chance. The stakes were high, but if the calculations were done correctly, the rewards could be substantial. After all, it's one of the large fish Klautz was attempting to catch!

In the end, Klautz couldn't figure out why some guilds would even bother to take such a risk. Were they after Reena's abilities? Or was it because of her talent that Klautz too couldn't give a cold shoulder? Klautz was completely unaware.

'If they were after Reena's powers, they couldn't have been more foolish.'

The tutorial zone gave Reena her abilities. It wasn't something that could be monopolised by a guild. The tutorial zone, as well as the bonus stage, are simply out of grasp for a Hell 'Resident.' At least in Klautz's past life, no one knew of any means to reach there.

Klautz walked up to his room, lost in his thoughts and his deep soliloquy. He raised his brows as a result of something he saw.

"What is she doing?"

Selena was standing there, her ear stuck to the door, straining to hear what was going on within. She sat with a grimace on her face, unable to figure out anything at all!

Klautz went from behind her. Unaware of Klautz's presence, she could only squeak in surprise as Klautz groped onto her breasts from behind.

*squish*

"What are you doing here?"

"Hyuk!" She cried.

She turned around in horror only to be greeted with Klautz's smirking face.

"Oh Klautz, it was you," she breathed a sigh of relief as she rolled her eyes.

Out of astonishment, her soul had left her body for a brief instant. I mean, why shouldn't it be? She was skulking around like a burglar!
