Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 136 - Unsolved Mysteries

When humans were first summoned to hell, a plethora of difficulties stood in their way. There were several deaths almost every day.

But with new summons every year, little by little they began to grow in number faster than what reproduction would have normally allowed. With such great numbers 'residents' were able to counter the dangers of hell as they stood united.

As they had begun to settle down, they painted hell with a colour of their own culture. Of course, the materials back on earth weren't available in hell but there were a plethora of objects with similar properties.

The seat that Klautz was caressing at the moment also told the same story. Its exterior was made from the hide of Krampus, a monster found in hell with goat legs and animalistic facial features. The cushion too was made from some monsters intestines giving a bouncy feel to them. But at the end of the day, they had made the end product look the same.

Klautz sighed as he sat down on one of the seats and he was the first one to sit down. All of the others were too unsure of what was happening.

'Tough times had created strong men but now easy times would create weak and corrupted men'

Selena didn't wait to sit beside him as she locked her fingers with his. She had a blooming smile on her face. It was as if she was having a movie date with Klautz.

Somehow Verona too sat with the duo with Klautz in the middle. With that Selena's smile turned to a scoff.

'Bitch!'

Selena secretly wished that she could create a doppelganger of herself so that she could cover Klautz on both sides.

Seeing the trio relaxing on the seats of their choice, all of the others took their seat as well… reluctantly but slowly everyone was seated.

It was then…

*Tap* *Tap*

The sound of footsteps resounded in the otherwise silent room. It was a miracle how despite having hundreds seated they made no noise. The traumas and the fears in their heart had sealed off their mouths.

A man walked to the centre of the stage as he closed into the lectern. His eyes travelled through the whole audience as he cleared his throat.

He knocked on the mike several times to check its effectiveness. A shrill sound resounded in the room turning everyone's attention to the man on the stage. Klautz especially had his apt attention on him.

"Greetings, my brothers and sisters from the earth."

"Ronald!" Klautz whispered.

Klautz's eyes were on alert. The man standing on the stage was probably known by everyone except the newbies.

After Miki, he was among the men that Klautz used to admire in his past life. He could be considered amongst the top ten men in all of hell. Not only that, unlike Miki he was the guild leader of one of the top guilds in all of hell.

"What had happened to you, Ronald?" Klautz whispered.

In his past life, Ronald had somehow mysteriously disappeared and even Klautz couldn't pick up any information about him. His guild was left without a leader and was crumbling apart. But later his guild was absorbed by the Castle of Lich as they joined in their ranks.

The suspicion for Ronald's disappearance of course went to the upper echelons of the Castle of Lich. But no one knew for sure what had happened. It was one of the many unsolved mysteries of hell.

'I am going to find out in this life,' Klautz took his resolve.

It was not a small matter that one of humanity's strongest suddenly disappeared from the face of hell.

His death had caused all of humanity to be thrown into chaos as Castle of Lich rose to power thanks to his absence.

Ronald nodded with a smile on his face as he checked the faces of everyone present. The newbies had fought scary monsters and met scary men but in Ronald's smiling face they found the friendliness they seek.

"Although it pains me to say this. But from today you cease to be residents of Earth. I know how that feeling is. Waking up at dawn only to realize that you are not at home anymore. But as things stand we need to make ourselves stronger with those very memories and desire to go back. We must survive."

All hundred spectators had their apt attention on Ronald by this point. It was as if their hearts resonated with his words as they felt that he could understand their pain. Ronald had an extreme charm in his voice and his words.

Ronald continued as he made perfect eye contact with all of his audiences.

"We as humans are a superior race. No matter how much we have been destroyed, no matter how big a pit we have thrown in. We have always emerged victorious."

Klautz couldn't help but wonder how he was able to draw the attention of hundreds of people with but a few words. Klautz could do a lot of things but he certainly couldn't do this.

"We were plagued by deaths... Hunted by beasts yet we never lose heart. We hunted as we stood united and innovated as we made use of our gifts, making us rise to the top of the food chain. We have seen cold-blooded emperors… we have seen uncaring emperors, yet their rules fell but we humans had always stood united and strong. We had seen foreign invaders yet when we stood united they ran away with their tails in between their legs."

Ronald sighed as he drew himself closer to the lectern leaning against it. His face turned gloomy and his voice turned serious all of a sudden as if to match the atmosphere.

"And as we are, we are thrown into the pits again… "
