Secret Killer

Chapter 23 - Monitoring Room

After entering the monitor room, the first thing Leon did was to check the cameras in the monitoring room, and as he had expected, it also had cameras.

Fortunately, the computer was unlocked as the guard dashed out of the room as soon as he saw the footage and forgot to lock the computer. Leon checked all the footage of him and smiled after seeing how pathetically Ray and the guard died.

He wanted to make a copy of that footage, take it home, and add it to his collection, but he couldn't risk leaving any evidence. If he had his mask on, then he might have done that, but he can't reveal his identity to anyone.

Leon deleted all the footage of after he left the classroom to follow Ray. He also deleted some extra footage to make it look like the cameras stopped working due to malfunction. He wanted to make it seem like the cameras stopped recording because of interference. There was also a possibility of cameras not working because additional cameras were added to the campus, and they were linked to the server, which might be faulty.

He could delete all the footage, but that would have made it obvious that the deaths were murders and not an accident. Leon was confident that he hadn't left any evidence behind and he would be safe even if the incident became a police case.

He cleared all the footage recording of 'after' he left the classroom to follow Ray. Then, he took out a small drive from his pocket and plugged it into the server.

Leon didn't want to take a risk and make anyone suspect him in any way. So he was going to corrupt the entire data of the server in case they managed to recover the deleted data. He used the virus he had recently created that also gave him access to all the credentials. He could easily bypass the highest level security firmware by simply plugging or uploading the virus in the said system.

After ensuring everything was done, Leon disabled all the cameras on the campus for five minutes so the cameras wouldn't record him leaving the room or walking in the hallway, especially after that first guard had seen Leon.

'I need to kill him too.' Leon had already thought of a plan on how he would kill the first guard without anyone suspecting him.

"I will follow him after his duty hours end. Then if he happens to go in an empty street, I will kill him in my mask so it would look like a simple robbery-attempt-fail case. If not, then I will follow him to his house and kill him. And if he happens to live with someone, then I will need to end them too."

After Leon left, a girl around the same age as Leon saw Leon leaving the monitoring room. She entered the monitoring room and saw that the cameras were disabled and the data was corrupted.

"Hmm~" she hummed in wonder. "Could it be that he…" She smiled in a strange manner and uttered, "Clever. But did he not know that there is also a backup drive which was installed just today, Where all data is uploaded?"

The backup drive was cloud storage, and unlike a physical server, it wasn't connected to the main server or the mainframe.

The girl entered the password of the cloud storage and logged into the server. She saw the footage of Leon pushing Ray into the water and electrocuting him. Then, she followed the cameras where Leon went and saw him killing the guard in a rather cruel way.

"He… killed two people as though it was completely normal…" she muttered.

The girl's name was Anna Townley, and she was the daughter of Ray's brother-in-law. In other words, she was the niece of Ray Marriat, and she just saw Leon killing him.

Anna knew everything about the university as her father had all the secret information, including the passwords of the security systems.

Anna's face flushed after seeing Leon killing two people and muttered, "I want him to kill me like that." She hugged herself as her body trembled, not in fear but in pleasure.

After a while, she took a backup of all the footage of Leon killing Ray and the guard. "I can use this for future purposes."

Then, she deleted the footage from the cloud drive to make it look like it wasn't recorded and the data was truly corrupted due to a faulty system or malfunction.

"You should be grateful to me, you killer. I am doing a favor to you." She logged out from the cloud drive and left the monitoring room.

Author's Note- oof. One after another. It seems Leon is about to start a killing spree soon. On the other hand, I am feeling good now.
