Secret Killer

Chapter 102 - Depressed Psychopath

It has been three days since then, and Leon's depression got worse as time passed. He locked himself in his room and refused to come out. He curled up on his bed and covered his body with the blanket.

He had no mood for anything. He kept remembering all the sad and bad things that had ever happened to him.

That was a normal mechanism of the human brain. It would show us every sad and bad memory of your life when you are feeling low, and it would make you more miserable. However, it would never show us happy memories when you are happy. In fact, in some cases, you would feel scared when you are happy. You would want that happiness to last forever, but it won't.

Nothing is permanent, and everything has an end, except the beginning.

Anna came to Leon's apartment every day, cleaned it, made food, and took care of everything. However, Leon still couldn't taste the food. And if he drank something, he would puke it out.

Anna tried to talk with Leon, but he never spoke a word. In fact, he didn't even look at her.

Even then, Anna always came to Leon's apartment and did everything. She knew that Leon wouldn't eat the food, but she still made it. Not to waste it, but she knew that Leon would get more depressed if he felt alone.

Leon was feeling for reasons he didn't know, but Anna had gone through many depressions in her life, and she knew what would help in such a time. There was no one with her, but she managed to get herself out of it.

She had tried killing herself many times, but her wounds had healed, leaving her with only pain and suffering.

Anna's healing ability was currently on the same level as Leon's evolved healing ability. However, unlike Leon, Anna's body was super compatible with the symbiote, and it grew stronger and evolved as Anna grew up.

KNOCK KNOCK

Anna knocked on Leon's room door and uttered, "Leon… I have made food. Come out, and let's eat."

"..."

"Leon?"

"...."

"Are you there?" she asked in a calm voice.

"..."

"Are you sleeping?"

"...."

Anna stood in front of Leon's door for five minutes, but Leon didn't answer.

"I will leave the food on the table. Try to eat it. If not, then put them in the fridge and eat it when you feel hungry," Anna uttered in a gentle voice.

Leon heard Anna walking to the living room and placing the dish on the table.

Anna stayed in the living room for a while and then went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

After 10 minutes, Anna walked back and stood in front of Leon's room.

"I am going home. Take care," she said in a little dejected voice.

After saying that, Anna left.

Three minutes later, Leon heard the sound of the car engine turning on and driving off the car as it slowly added away.

"..."

Leon removed the blanket from his body and stared at the ceiling.

His eyes looked darker than usual, and his body looked fragile.

In truth, He hadn't been sleeping either. He kept hearing those whispers in his mind, and that kept him awake from sleeping.

He slowly sat up on his bed and walked to the door while stumbling on his feet. When he opened the door, he saw his apartment was cleaned like never before. It was as though he was in a completely new house.

Leon spotted the covered plate on the table and grabbed it.

"..."

Anna had made several dishes, including soup and dessert.

Leon first tried to eat the cake as it was sweet and easy to taste. However, he couldn't taste it. Then, he took a sip of the soup, but he couldn't taste that either.

He didn't even bother to eat the main dish and threw all the food into the sink.

"The more I look at it, the weaker I feel. I am not supposed to have weaknesses. I am strong. I have to be strong. Otherwise, I would become useless again."

After a brief pause, "Just like how I was when I was a kid."

"No one loved me then, and no one loves me now… except Ida. My life has no value. I am useless. Without my powers… I am nothing. I have to—"

Leon suddenly dropped to his knees and clenched his chest with his hand.

He was having a stroke again.

"How long… is this… going to happen…"

Leon couldn't move his body except for his hands.

He slowly crawled on the floor and made his way back to his room. He climbed on the bed and noticed a familiar bottle on the desk.

It was filled with Ida's milk, but he had only drank half of it, and that was four nights ago. He had forgotten about it.

"Ida…"

Leon grabbed his phone and opened a website where Ida usually streamed. He saw her stream was active, but her stream ended the moment he clicked on her stream.

"..."

He clenched his phone in anger, and he was about to slam it to the wall, but he stopped and looked at the screen.

He opened his contacts and dialed Ida's number to call her. He didn't have enough energy to place the phone on his ear, so he put it on the speaker.

After a few rings, the call was answered, and a voice followed, "Hello, who is this?"

It was a woman's voice, but it wasn't Ida.

"..."

"Hello? Can you hear me?" the voice questioned.

"I… want to talk to Ida," Leon uttered in a low voice.

"Uhh… if you called for business purposes, then I can talk to you. But if you are a fan, then I am sorry, but Ida doesn't talk with her fans on the phone or video calls," the voice responded in a calm voice.

"I want to talk with her…" Leon uttered the same thing again.

"Did you not hear what I just said?! This is not customer service!" the woman uttered in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Tell her… it's the milkman…"

"What do you mean?! Are you some kind of troll!" the woman yelled. "I am hanging up the call!"

BEEP! BEEP!

After that, Leon kept staring at the phone with an emotionless face and a lifeless stare in his eyes for the rest of the night.
