Xavier stared at the figure of the butler in front of him with trembling hands. Memories of his younger self covered in blood flashed in his mind as the butler approached.
While the butler released his bloodlust, his face resembled that of a devil, making Xavier even more terrified.
“I hate to say this, but you will not be seeing the young lady.” The butler adjusted his glasses. “You will be dying here right now, after all.” Said the butler.
Xavier’s ears twitched. Suddenly, he stopped trembling in his body, his expression shifting from fear to anger as he glared at the butler.
While the butler narrowed his eyes behind his glasses, the maid stopped in her tracks as she was glared at.
“It’s just as I thought… The idea of dying doesn’t scare you…” Muttered the butler.
Xavier’s lack of fear as he stood before them surprised the maid.
‘The head butler of isn’t just any regular Vampire… He’s strong enough to acquire his own territory… Yet despite that, this young man is able to stand before him with that expression…’
“So you finally decided to show yourself… You’ve been following us for quite a while, haven’t you?” Xavier asked as he pointed the edge of his blade at him. “If you’re going to kill me, what are you waiting for? Come.” Said Xavier.
*SWOOSH!*
In the following instant, the butler’s chest appeared right on the blade’s edge before grinning at Xavier.
Xavier’s narrowed his eyes.
‘He’s even faster than the low-ranking Vampire Lord that I just killed…’
Seeing the two [Mysterious Wheel Roulettes] beside him, he glanced at the choices they had selected.
[Option 1: Timed Bomb. (1 Use Consumable)]
[Option 2: Teleport Crystal. (1 Use Consumable)]
Xavier let out a sigh.
“Before we start, tell me… This isn’t the first time we’ve met, is it?” Xavier questioned.
The butler smiled. “That’s right, it isn’t.”
Xavier glanced at the maid behind them. ‘I feel like the puzzle is finally coming together…’ He thought to himself.
“…You’re the one who almost killed me, aren’t you? On that snowy day…” Xavier muttered.
As he pulled his arm back to thrust it forward, the Butler said, “I don’t think you understand the position you’re in right now…,”.
As he glared at the butler a grin grew on Xavier’s face.
“No.. There’s a lot of things I still don’t understand… But rather than that, You should pay attention to your surroundings.” Said Xavier as he glanced down.
The butler and maid glanced down at the ground and saw a strange cube with a timer that read [00:01].
With a confused look, they watched as the timer hit [00:00]
*BOOOM!!!*
A loud explosion echoed through the room as the cube exploded before the two of them. The butler went sliding down the hall with his arms raised in a guarding stance.
Xavier, on the other hand, was blasted right at the door, crashing straight through it and out into the middle of the Vampire’s formation, where he slammed into another vampire before sliding down onto another Vampire’s feet.
[Timed Bomb Used!]
The Vampire wore a cap and had an infuriated look on his face.
“The target is confirmed… All units! Attack!!!” He shouted.
Numerous weapons were swung down at Xavier at that moment. “Oh-”
[Rewind Level 2: Retract]
*SWOOSH!*

There were burn marks running down the butler’s arms, which were slowly regenerating.
“Oh dear… He’s a sneaky one.” Said the butler.
“How much longer do you insist on testing him…?” The maid asked as she walked up to him.
After adjusting his glasses, the butler took a step forward. “Orders from the head were to make sure he was truly worth the young lady’s time.”
While staring at the smoke cloud ahead of him, the maid took a deep breath.
“Do we have to act like we’re going to kill him, though? Are you aware that the young lady will kill us when she finds out? The maid asked with narrowed eyes.
“Hohoho… It’s more fun this way.” Said the butler with a grin
The butler’s grin widened as he looked out through the open door as the smoke cloud began to subside.
Xavier stood outside the door, fighting off the Vampires on his own.
*SLASH!* *SLASH!*
While swiping his sword without stopping, Xavier was leaping left and right from one Vampire to another.
He gulped down streams of blood as a growing number of Vampire corpses filled the area surrounding him.
As they bombarded each other with their abilities trying to hit him, he was simply outmanoeuvring them all with his [Retract] ability.
As he killed more and consumed more blood, he became faster and faster.
“Doesn’t that alone qualify him?” Questioned the maid with an intrigued look.
“You’ve seen what he’s done… He’s put her and the family we serve at risk several times and all we’ve done is watch.” The butler took off his coat before saying, “If he can’t survive a fight against me, he’ll bring us all down.”
In nothing more than his shirt and vest, he slowly drew a rapier from his sheathe before forming a stance.
“You’re not just saying that because you want to fight him, are you?” The maid asked with narrowed eyes.
“Of course not.” The butler responded with a grin.
*FWOOSH!*

As he desperately killed one vampire after another, Xavier went on a killing frenzy. As more blood splattered over him, the more he knew he couldn’t stop.
‘There’s no telling when that butler will-‘
*WHAM!*
The side of a fist smashed against Xavier’s face in mid-air, interrupting his thoughts as it blasted him through the formation of the Vampires and sent him sliding down the bridge.
The impact Xavier sustained had sent him so far away that it severed the connection he had with his nine blood orbs.
Once he had stopped sliding, he quickly got up before spitting out a bit of mouth and looking at Butler coming towards him from down the bridge.
As he opened his mouth to speak, he noticed that his jaw was partially dislocated.

By the time he’d entered back into a stance, his jaw had fully healed.
