Chapter 791: The Stone Hut Part 1

Chapter 791: The Stone Hut Part 1

Kana was truly curious about the zombie whose rotting nose was only a centimeter away from her own. She felt no disgust by the stench that came off of it, but what she did not understand was why it was being controlled, yet it was not attacking her.  “Very, very strange….”

“Gwrah!” The zombie let out a low growl. It seemed to be trying to figure out what it should do with the thing in front of it.

“Hmmm… Do they only attack if you attack them? Normally if a cultivator saw a zombie they would attack it and try to kill it, wouldn’t they? Or show some kind of killing intent or wariness to it?” Kana wondered if the reason the zombies attacked was because people normally would have some kind of reaction to them. “Is this the reason why only foundation establishment and below can actually enter this place?”

Pursing her lips, she looked around, ignoring the zombie breathing down on her neck. She saw another zombie not too far away and began walking over to it. Just like the first, it came up to her and just stood there. “I seeeee! So they will walk over to you no matter what, but they will not attack unless you react in the way that they expect you to… Very interesting!”

“I really wonder why they are being controlled like this.” After tapping her chin and pondering for a minute, Kana decided to go check out the deeper part of the dead forest. She was hoping to find some answers there.

As Kana walked through the dead trees, more and more zombies gathered around her until she had a long train of them slowly following her. She was not walking fast, she saw no need to, so the line of zombies was rather big.

After about an hour of traveling, Kana came upon a group of cultivators from another sect fighting the zombies. “Oh? Devil cultivators? I guess I will use them to test my theory.”

With no shame whatsoever and around one hundred zombies following her, Kana walked right towards the devil cultivators, who looked like they were already struggling. There were six altogether fighting a few zombies in front of them. Kana walked up and waved her hand to the devil cultivators. “Hi! You look like you are having fun.”

“You! Stay away!” One of the devil cultivators quickly looked over at Kana, and his face paled when he saw the long line of zombies following her.

“Stay away? Why? My friends asked me to help them meet up with their friends. Now that we are here, it would be dumb to turn back, would it not? You guys keep doing your thing. I will be right there.” Kana answered, ignoring the screams and yelling for her to stay away.

Every single one of the devil cultivators who were fighting the zombies all cursed and wondered who was the more evil, them or the damn lizard girl who was bringing her friends over! But they had no time to complain because as soon as Kana arrived, the zombies lost interest in her after sensing the emotions of the devil cultivators.

“I hope you  never get a chance to reincarnate again!” One of the female devil cultivators yelled out as a zombie sunk its teeth into her neck and tore it open.

Kana wrinkled her nose at the graphic scene but still watched on as she tried to figure out why they were not attacking her. But without another person showing no emotion to the zombies, there really was no way to really test. “I guess I will just let them do their thing then….”

Kana decided to just keep moving on. While she got rid of her first group of zombies, she quickly began gathering more. She traveled slowly, one step at a time as if she were on a leisurely walk through the park. On the fifth day, Kana finally spotted what looked to be a small stone hut in the middle of a purple colored swamp with a stone bridge leading over to it.  “Oh?”

This was her first time seeing a change in the area, so she was highly interested in what she might find in this stone hut. She was hoping for maybe something like what she found in the other mystic realm. Some kind of inheritance.

As she got closer to the purple swamp, she couldn’t help but frown. Even the zombies stopped following her after she was a few meters away from the purple swamps edge. Kana did not feel anything off about the air, nor did she feel sick at all. Pursing her lips, she walked over to the stone bridge that led to where the stone hut was and carefully stepped on it. When she saw that there did not seem to be any traps, she put her full weight on it and jumped a few times. When she saw that it had no issues, she began crossing it.

“Let’s hope there are no tricks to the bridge.” Kana looked back at the zombies that were just standing there, not doing much of anything, almost as if they were waiting for her to return and for some reason felt the need to wave.

She crossed the bridge without issue and stood in front of the stone hut. There was a stone door and a small window. But when she looked through the window, she couldn’t see anything, causing her to frown. “I guess I have no choice but to go in through the door.”

Kana walked over to the stone door that had a single slot that looked to be the only place to grip on to open the door. She took a deep breath and reminded herself that there was no gains without some danger.  After letting out her breath, she reached out and pulled on the door. But instead of budging, bright blue lines appeared on the surface of the door. They slowly spread out all over the stone door before a rumbling sound was heard. The door that she thought should have slid to the left actually started lowering into the ground, revealing a set of stairs that led down.
