Looking at the video, his thin lips curved up a little. He should thank Zhang Bi for sending him this wonderful opportunity. He still kept those items with the viruses on them.
Jiang WenYu pulled up his makeup bag and started wanted to give himself a sick look. He looked very solemn when he did this, as though he was performing a very important experiment. In order to cover his own tracks, he had spent a lot of time learning how to apply makeup from the internet. He took his task as serious as his studies and, after many failures, finally succeeded.
After he was done with his makeup, he brought with him the USB drive and the box containing the viruses, the latter sealed up in a bag.
This was dinner house and it was time to gross everyone else out.
When Jiang WenYu appeared in front of the dining table, all of the Zhang family members there looked surprise. Jiang WenYu did not normally eat dinner with them. He would only eat what was prepared for him by his nutritionist.
Zhang Kaiyu, the Zhang’s clan leader, quickly put on a gentle look after his surprise subsided. “Join us for dinner, WenYu.”
Jiang WenYu started coughing and all the other’s faces were dark. Even though it was just a common cold but nobody wanted to get sick.
“It’s alright, Grandpa. I just want to show you something.”
Zhang Kaiyu was surprised, “Did someone do something to you?” He looked around with a severe look. In order for this talented grandson to feel at home here, he had always been kind to him. He didn’t want his effort be negated by anyone else.
Jiang WenYu continued to cough. After coughing for a little while, he went on to say, “I have always been very healthy but I caught a cold out of the blue a few days ago.”
All of the others pursed their lips indifferently when they heard that and felt that Jiang WenYu was making a big deal out of nothing.
Su QinMei looked over at her son reflexively and had a bad feeling.
“I was going to pull my bedding off and placed them under the sun for a little while today when I discovered these under my pillow and my bedsheet.”
Under everyone’s watchful look, Jiang WenYu opened up the box while wearing latex gloves. When the others saw the items inside the box, they no longer looked as indifferent as they did earlier.
Zhang Bi frowned and regretted not having to take care of those items sooner. Things were going so well when it came to Jiang WenYu that he had gotten sloppy. He put on a completely different look and said angrily, “This was too much! Who would have done such a thing?!”
He even looked over at the other cousins as he talked. He was quite good at diverting the attention from himself.
The cousins’ faces dropped. Why was he looking at them? They were still waiting for Zhang Wenyu and Zhang Bi to go at each other. Why would they make a move now?
Zhang Bi looked very upset. “We are family. If you have any issues, we can always have an open and honest discussion. Is this really necessary?”
Jiang WenYu simply played the surveillance video from the projector in the living room. Everyone could see that it was his assistant Chang Xin who placed the items in his room.
Zhang Kaiyu’s face turned dark. He couldn’t believe that someone still had the audacity to try and harm Zhang Wenyu after his stern orders to not do that. That was a blatant challenge to his authority.
“Don’t worry, WenYu. I will take care of this.” No matter who it was who did that, the consequences would be severe.”
Jiang WenYu said coldly, “I have thought of all of you as family and tried to have trust in you. Obviously, I had been too naïve. If I am unwelcomed here at the Zhang’s, I guess I will just have to leave. I worry about my life if I continue to stay here. It’s just cold viruses today but it could be poison tomorrow.
“I think it’s best for me to move out.”
He turned and walked away after he was done talking, leaving no chance for Zhang Kaiyu to say a word.
Zhang Kaiyu was so angry he almost flipped over. Partly he was upset that WenYu didn’t show him any respect, partly he was mad that his other grandchildren did not care about the big picture and try to harm WenYu. Clutching his chest, he said angrily, “Go and investigate! I want all the details!”
