Chapter 453: Dominance

Chapter 453: Dominance

Hundreds of treants were running past him, looking at Shane with mixed emotions.

They didn’t know whether he was the culprit who had brought the Fire spirits inside the secret realm, but looking at the worried expression he threw at them, they realised that it shouldn’t be the case.

In the end, they could only run for their lives, which was not exactly fast owing to their slow pace.

Shane saw this, and he decided to act, only to hear Talia ask him,

[It’s working…I guess? How long does it normally take for her to come?]

However, instead of answering something he didn’t know, Shane simply stated the fact,

[I don’t know. Just tell me once you’re ready. I’ll enter close combat now, so don’t message me, except when it’s absolutely necessary.]

With that being said, Shane released a tremendous amount of mana which he circulated through his body as the Invincible Scimitar manifested in his hand.

Staring directly at the closest Fire spirit that was annoyed at the gaze Shane was throwing at it, he shot forward.

It left behind burned grass, the fire spreading out at a rapid pace, only to appear right in front of Shane a moment later.

The fire spirit that was in the form of a panther lashed out with its hot claws that charred Shane’s hair.

Yet, instead of panicking, the corner of his lip curled upwards as he thrust out the Invincible Scimitar.

His speed was incomparably higher than the fire spirits’. Thus, he was able to pierce right through the core of the fire spirit that looked like a large piece of magma, as if it was nothing.

Retracting the Invincible Scimitar, he saw the spirit’s flames disappear into the smoke-filled air a moment later before the magma-like core fell to the ground.

Seeing their brethren die so quickly while the human in front of them did not appear to be even slightly strained, the large group of fire spirits was shocked.

They had expected that burning down the entire secret realm would work without any issues.

At least, that was what they had been told- that the task would be to simply burn down the forest and leave once work is done.

Shane expected the fire spirits to be working on the orders of someone to burn down the secret realm, but it made no sense in his opinion.

Rather than burning down the secret realm, claiming it would be much better.

The ancient magi trees were treasures and not even comparable to materialistic possessions.

As such, nobody should want to burn them down.

It was exactly because of this thought that Shane didn’t understand the importance of some beings that wanted to destroy the heirlooms and progeny of those they hated the most.

They would give their utmost efforts to prevent other beings from inheriting certain heritages!

It didn’t matter whether their jealousy was fueled by the fact that they had been unable to attain the rights to become the successor of certain inheritances, or their fear to receive backlashes or getting destroyed by those that accept said inheritances.

What was important was that the fire spirits that had entered the secret realm were not only beasts at the Awakened stage but also the Myst stage!

Despite not knowing how they had entered the secret realm, Shane couldn’t care less about that right now.

His highest priority was to eliminate the cause of the forest fire; to get rid of the fire spirits.

After that, he would have to figure out whether or not it would be a problem to devour the silver soul world core.

The last thing he wanted was something infiltrating his soul world, just because he devoured some secret realm from Gaia, a being he knew nothing of.

Shane simply ignored the memories about his past life because it was unlikely that they were speaking about the same Gaia, and even if it was the same, it wouldn’t change anything.

In the end, he had to take care of his soul world alone and protecting it was his highest priority.

It was his soul after all.

With a destroyed soul, he was unlikely to be able to live, and even a damaged soul world would be a big issue.

As such, he couldn’t take any risks.

Because of the sudden disturbance, Shane couldn’t help but feel the anger within him resurfacing.

Thus, he didn’t even think about holding back before he released the entire mana stored within him as he circulated it through his body at once.

At the same time, he released his bloodlust-killing-intent which enveloped tightly around his body.

Only a moment later, Shane exerted the Light steps movement technique at the perfect mastery, increasing his speed tremendously.

However, he didn’t want to increase his running speed but that of his movement so he transferred a small amount of mana from the soul world’s storage into his body.

With this mana, he made use of the ability he had inherited from Cosmo called [Space Jump] with which he gained perfect control over the spatial affinity.

This control lasted only for a moment, but it was more than enough to conjure simple spatial portals.

With a spatial portal that appeared right in front of him and its corresponding pair right above the center of his opponents, Shane didn’t even think twice as he stepped through it.

Emerging in the middle of the fire spirits, he could feel the extreme heat emanating from them.

Nevertheless, it was not enough to burn through the bloodlust killing intent and his thick skin at once.

Noticing this, a cruel smile appeared on Shane’s lips as he made use of his increased movement speed in addition to his highly athletic physique.

Thanks to that, he could lash out several times, destroying several magma-like mana cores of fire spirits at peak awakened stage before the Myst stage fire spirits could even react.

Shane was not sure how strong the strongest fire spirit was, but he felt that the dangers lurking right next to him were negligible.

As such, ignoring the devastating damage caused by the fire spirits, and the fact that it was possible for others to enter the secret realm, Shane couldn’t help but be excited to fight once again.

Adjusting to his newly obtained strength was bound to increase his confidence and Shane had yet to figure out how strong he truly was.

Moving amongst the group of fire spirits, he slashed and hacked while they unleashed their flames that burned through the bloodlust-killing-intent, reaching his skin.

With the searing hot flames reaching his skin, Shane could only grit his teeth as he forced himself to finish off his opponents at a much greater speed.

He unleashed a massacre, and the destroyed magma-like mana core was falling onto the burned grass-like trees shedding leaves in autumn.

The number of fire spirits was massive but they were not even able to attack him properly, because he simply ignored the burns he received.

Even the fireballs, spears, and other attacks were not strong enough to slow him down.

Only when a fire spirit at the Myst stage attacked him, Shane was forced to change his trajectory slightly, in order to evade the attacks.

That didn’t take much of his time and he quickly resumed to eradicate the small opponents that felt like dummies on fire.

As such, in order to prevent them from spreading the fire, the weaker fire spirits had to be defeated first.

And this was exactly what Shane was doing easily, without being forced to actively use his affinities or the Hidden Paradise’s energy storage!

The dominance Shane exerted on the battlefield was evident, and the Fire spirits were unable to do anything.

How could the fire spirits know that their true nemesis was just about to arrive?

[She’s here, and ready!]
