Picking Up Beautiful Girls In The Post-Apocalyptic World!

Chapter 146

Ervan was being carried around by Tia as they flew across the city. He didn’t have the flight skill, so he had to rely on Tia to take him where he needed by holding his hand and carrying him. It was common knowledge that the chosen were usually the best in their worlds before they go to the Temple. In this world, they knew that they just had to find the person who became the most popular recently and that person would surely be the chosen.

But they have gone around for a while now and they still haven’t seen anything other than a few stories about somebody that was making a lot of money or the death of some rich man. There was absolutely nothing like what they expected! This was the chosen and he would surely have to be one of the strongest in this world! Wasn’t it usually common for the people to create statues to thank their heroes!? Or at least have a few news articles about the heroes? Why would this world not have something like that!

There was a crazy thought that then entered Ervan’s mind. What if the chosen was actually… Hiding his abilities from his people? Ervan chuckled in hysteria. Why would he even have that kind of thought!? As if anybody would try to hide something as amazing as this power from their people!

He told his people about his skill and became one of their most recent leaders because of this system! He would gladly have stayed to enjoy all that the system brought for him in that world, but when he was called to the Temple and promised even more power there was no way he would have turned that offer down.

But Ervan knew they would have to find some other way to look for this man. It had already been thirty minutes since they started looking for him and they haven’t had any luck!

“I’m going to land on the building over there. I think we need a new plan. We can’t just keep flying around like this”

Tia said this before she suddenly landed on the building she pointed out. She let go of Ervan and then hugged her large sword tighter. This was all just a pain in the ass now. Why is it so hard to locate that chosen!? And Gareth is also missing. Did that man just decide to run away and look on his own? There is no reason for him to have done that! What did he suddenly disappear?

Tia looked up as Worm landed on the building as well and then turned towards Ervan with a hard look. He obviously wasn’t happy.

“How long are we going to keep on acting like fools. We could have simply attacked this place and lured out the chosen a long time ago! Even that Gareth had the right idea until he decided to be an idiot and run off on his own!”

Ervan narrowed his eyes at Worm and Worm glared right back. The two of them were stuck in the heated stare until Worm scoffed and looked away. He was done with this!

“I’m going to look for him by myself. I don’t care what you two do anymore”

Ervan shook his head.

“It’s a bad idea. I think we should all stick together till we find him. We have no idea what happened to Gareth. He could be dead for all we know”

Worm scoffed. The thought that there was anything strong enough in this world to harm any of them was the funniest thing ever! They were all above level fifty and they each had at least one skill above the 150 mark. There was no way a backwash world like this could produce anything that could hurt them!

Worm didn’t bother listening to Ervan and he simply shot off into the city. Ervan sighed as he watched Worm disappear into the horizon. This group was the worst thing he ever had to command. They were all from different guilds, so it was too chaotic. He was just grateful that he would be back in the Temple before long, even if it is just the two of them looking properly, they should still be able to find and capture the chosen.

“Keep your eyes open for anything. We’ll have to do this on our own since those two are obviously not going to help us. If we don’t find him by nightfall then we can start using… Other means”

The other means that he was talking about was killing and threatening the people on this planet, and Tia nodded to show that she agreed. She was about to grab into Ervan and fly away again, but then something suddenly crashed into the roof behind them.

Booom!!!

Tia and Ervan both turned around in shock and Ervan narrowed his eyes while stepping forward a little. He was the one with the highest defense here, so if there was an enemy, then he would defend to give Tia space to attack. Her sword should be able to deal with anything on this planet.

But what kind of person can sneak up on them like this!?

Woosh!!

A body suddenly flew out of the dust cloud that rose up from the crash and Worm was sent skidding on the floor till he stopped at Ervan’s feet. Ervan looked down in surprise, but he only waited for a minute before looking up again. This was big trouble! Worm was beaten like this?? He might be the weakest of the four of them, but he was still above level fifty! What kind of person did this!? Was it the chosen!?

“Come out right now! We won’t kill you if you show yourself right now!”

The sound of footsteps made Ervan tighten his defenses before he finally saw the face of Gareth peer through the dust. Ervan sighed in relief, thinking that it was just some infighting between Gareth and Worm. Maybe Gareth found Worm and brought him back so all of them could work together! He calmed himself down a little and was about to speak until he then saw the rest of Gareth’s body move out of the smoke as well.

Wait.. wait, wait, wait. What is this? Why is Gareth’s body in the wrong direction? His head… It’s facing his back!!

Gareth moved out of the smoke and they finally saw that he wasn’t even touching the ground at all. His entire body was levitating off the ground! This was Telekinetics!

The dust cleared up to show a man smiling at them. He had his hands in his pocket ad he was wearing a full black suit like he just stepped out of the office a minute ago.

Han gave the three invaders a mock salute with two fingers and smiled wider when they flinched. That man he just found must be the stupidest person he ever met. To think that Worm would just leave his comrades after one of them already went missing. Han managed to kindly ‘convince’ him to come back. He couldn’t have any of them leaving here like that, now could he?

“Hey, hey, hey! Welcome. I’ve been waiting for you. I didn’t think you would actually come”

Ervan threw his hand back and brought his shield forward in one smooth motion before he narrowed his eyes at Han from behind the shield. This had to be the chosen, there was no other explanation. But what was going on here? Why is he standing here with Gareth dead?

“You’ve been waiting for us? What do you mean by that?”

Tia was the one that asked this question. She knew that the chosen weren’t meant to know about their arrival until they actually arrived! This entire thing smelt fishy to her! Thus wasn’t how things were supposed to go at all!

Worm started to get up from the ground slowly and he grunted while turning around, but once his eyes landed on Han, he screamed out in fright while falling to his bottom!

“Arrrhh!! T-This man is the chosen! Kill him! Kill him right now! He isn’t what we think at all! Kill him now!”

Ervan didn’t need to be told twice and he immediately shot forward. He knew that it was dangerous to have the chosen be this knowledgeable of the invaders. They would capture this man and take him back to the Temple so they can interrogate him about this knowledge!

Ervan was the strongest of the four of them and he had amazing defensive skills that would be able to stop even the strongest Gold Shields in their tracks. A charge from him was the equivalent of being hit straight on by a moving train! It was common knowledge that when it came to brute force in the Temple, he was the best tank there was! Well, that was what the Gold Shields thought.

Han put out his right hand towards the shield.

Boooooomm!!!!

The ground beneath the two men cracked and bent and Ervan’s eyes widened as he suddenly realized something. Han wasn’t moving! Not even a fucking inch! This…. This was impossible! For someone not to move even an inch after his charge, that person would have to be physically stronger than him by almost three times! This was impossible!
