My Guardian System: The Trader

Chapter 85 - Reunion

Everyone was surprised at what happened to the monster. At this moment they saw a young man standing in front of everyone.

Who is he? Everyone's question.

But, none of them spoke. Jem's sudden arrival surprised them.

Seeing the outcome of its companion, the other monster rushed angrily to tear apart this young man who suddenly butt-in. However, before it could get close to Jem, it was met by Earth Spikes from his Earth Manipulation ability.

The monster was easily hit and its body was pierced, causing it to lose its life.

Jem made sure not to hit its core so as not to waste the valuable materials he could get.

The monster he had punched rose again. Looks like that punch wasn't enough to kill it directly. But Jem already expected that result. Before it rushed again, the monster first adjusted its tilted head. It's horrible to look at actually.

After it adjusted the direction of its head, it rushed immediately. If it was another student from the academy who was in his shoes at the moment, they would certainly step back out of fright at this situation.

However, since it was him, the bloodlust the monster was exuding was no effect on him. It was just greeted by Earth Spikes.

Everyone who witnessed the fight gawked in shock. The monsters were easily defeated by a young man! It was amazing. They were about to approach him to ask about his identity, but before they could do so, they stopped walking when suddenly they heard a strange sound from above.

"Be careful! More monsters are coming!" The younger town guard shouted as he helped his father to get up on his feet.

Everyone stopped breathing in fear when they saw the figure of more monsters above them.

Five Flying Trolls jump in haste to attack Jem. They deemed him as dangerous, so they focused their attack on him.

But, the same thing happened to them. Jem's Earth Manipulation ability overwhelmed them.

Three of the monsters were penetrated with Earth Spikes, the other two were able to dodge, but it was still futile. Jem used LightWave attacks at them. The two explode when his LightWave attack hits them.

Surrounded by flying debris of earth and rocks, Jem stood in front of everyone. The expression on his face was calm even though he had just finished finishing the monsters as if it wasn't a big deal to him.

"He's an ex-human…" one of the town guards suddenly said after a long silence.

"Yes, no doubt," replied another. When they saw Jem's unique abilities, they immediately realized that he was no ordinary person. That he was one of the so-called ex-human.

After killing all the monsters in the area, Jem used his Devil Right Hand to trade the corpses of the monsters.

Everyone was just silently watching what he did. None of them even wondered about his Devil Right Hand.

Jem was already expecting this to happen. He had a strong hunch that ordinary people would not give much thought to it.

Although they might become curious about it, none of them were going to think that it wasn't an ordinary ability even for an ex-human.

As long as in their minds they know he was an ex-human, he could claim that this was just one of his abilities as an ex-human. After all, ex-humans were known for their extraordinary abilities.

Well. In truth, Jem wasn't sure if he was the only ex-human who had these kinds of abilities. Perhaps some were like him.

Noticing that there were no more enemies around, the town guards were about to approach Jem, but they stopped in their tracks because of a shout.

"Jem!"

They saw a beautiful lass approaching with some children and a familiar face, Miss Mona.

"Miss Mona!" They approached her. Mona then decided to talk to them. The guards mercilessly asked many questions.

Miles went directly and approached Jem. Arriving next to him, she asked him, "Are you okay?"

Jem replied, "Yes. I'm fine. " His voice was just calm.

Miles smiled and said, "That's good. By the way, thanks for the help."

"It's nothing."

"Oh, right. I will excuse myself, I need to find Mom."

Jem nodded. "All right," he said.

Miles was hesitant to leave. But still, she stepped past him. The children followed her. But, after Miles passed Jem, she suddenly stopped walking. She looked back at Jem. As a result of her action, the children also stopped and turned to where she was looking.

After Miles turned to look at Jem, she saw that Jem was also looking at her. Jem wondered why Miles looked at him, "Why?" He asked. He noticed Miles' mouth open. "Can you come with us?" He asked.

Surrounding them were the children. They were staring at them.

Jem was silent and didn't answer immediately. Eventually, he slowly opened his mouth. "I'm sorry, I still have to do something." He refused. After saying this, he walked away without hesitation.

Miles frowned but she could not force him. She first looked behind Jem before continuing inside the chapel along with the children. Oldman Barn followed after them.

"Miles!"

With teary eyes, Miles' mother shouted when she saw her. It must be tears of joy after finding out that her daughter was just fine.

Miles caught her mother helping in applying first aid to the wounded civilians. When she heard her mother calling her name, she also called her.

"Mom!"

Miles then rushed to hug his mother. Oldman Barn also arrived and smiled at the reunion. He moved beside them and rubbed his daughter and granddaughter's head.

"I'm glad that both of you are safe," said Miles' mom.

The children and the other people around were staring at their family reunion.

After a while,

Miss Mona and Oldman Barn went to speak with the town lord. They immediately told about the shady group they fought in the secret passage, on the Underground Channel.

"I see. I'll take care of it!" Answer by the mayor of the Tulg town.

That time when Jem left Miles and the children, he went to ask the town guards if it was fine for them if he disposed of all the monster corpses around. He didn't want to trade them without asking as it seemed like he was stealing them.

To be fair, he told them that they could gain good amounts of money by looting the dead monsters with valuable parts and trading them in a trading shop somewhere in the city.

But it seemed like most of the town guards already knew about it. However, none of them were willing to butcher these monsters. They told him that they would appreciate it if he would get rid of them.

Besides, looking at the monsters, they wondered if there was any valuable materials they could get from them.

Jem felt relief after hearing their reply.
