Qin Weizhe's guess was proven correct in the next moment.

He had planned to catch the man off guard. The fake Cui Qiqiang had always been detained inside the interrogation room thus he shouldn't know about the development of the case. Yet, before Qin Weizhe could take Luo Ning into another round of interrogation, a police officer came to report with a flustered face.

"D—Detective Qin, the person in interrogation room 2 said that he wanted to confess something!"

Qin Weizhe almost spurted out his water. He coughed as he wiped his mouth. "Who...?"

"It's the fake Cui Qiqiang." Luo Ning helped to answer. "What did he want to confess?"

Qin Weizhe was planning to take a short break, but because of this interference, he decided against it and grabbed his notebook. "Come on. We will hear what he wants to say."

Qin Weizhe's face turned unprecedentedly serious, making Luo Ning nervous beside him.

There were questions in Qin Weizhe's head and he had a faint inkling as to what the man was going to say. True to his guess, the first thing the man said was, "Actually, I am not Cui Qiqiang."

Qin Weizhe paused for a second and sat down as if nothing happened. Chuckling, he replied. "What are you talking about, Mr. Cui?"

"I am not Cui Qiqiang." The weak, helpless man that was just crying a few hours ago was no more. The man with Cui Qiqiang's face in front of him was calm and as steady as Mount Tai. "At first, I didn't intend to confess because Wu Wengen's death has nothing to do with me. Now that I think about it, how can I prove my innocence if I don't say anything?"

The man had chosen to confess just as the case concluded. Was this simply a coincidence?

Qin Weizhe raised his brow. "But Miss Wu has attested to your identity and she has confessed her crime, Mr. Cui. How can you just come out and say that you're not Cui Qiqiang right now?"

The man sighed wryly. "Really, I am just helping Miss Wu out of command. She said that she needed my help for something so I went abroad with her for a few months. Who knew that I will be implicated with a murder case all of a sudden?"

"Mr. Police Officer, tell me, what crime did I commit?"

How sly.

First, he confirmed his stand as Wu Ruoqing's helper and stated his innocence at the whole thing. If it's based on his statements, who could charge him of any crime? It was true that Wu Ruoqing was the one who asked him for help. It's true that he only went abroad with her.

He didn't kill anyone, nor did he do anything at all.

However, could Qin Weizhe just trust him based on that? Who would believe him if he said that he's totally innocent in this whole matter? But the problem was, the police didn't have any proof to charge him of guilt.

Inside the monitor room, gasps and exclamations of shock could be heard. "What the heck?! Human skin mask?!"

Ru Meiqi was frozen in shock. Her eyes glued to the mask as her mind clamored. A few months ago, in City A's hospital, someone had broken into Shi Nian's room. At that time, Jiang Jinyan gave his testimony, saying that there's a scar on the side of the man's neck.

She and Jin Renguang had made countless guesses about it. Ru Meiqi suspected that it was a human mask, but this kind of mask wasn't available at the market and because of the chaotic and messy schedule, she hadn't had the time to pursue it yet.

But now at a glance, she instantly knew.

This mask was the same as what the culprit wore.

She instantly grabbed the communicator and said. "Ask him where the mask came from."

Her voice was transmitted to Qin Weizhe's earpiece and the man seamlessly cooperated. "Such a good mask. I want to buy one too. Where can I get it?"

In the end, Shin Dong was free of charge and Qin Weizhe had no choice but to let him go after the period of 24 hours passed by.

Wu Wengen's death was concluded as of this moment. Perhaps, in this case, the most pitiful ones were the Wu couple and Cui Qiqiang's mother. For the Wu couple, their eldest son was murdered in such a tragic way and the culprit was their daughter and son in law.

Madam Wu cried so hard that she couldn't get out of bed. Meanwhile, Minister Wu seemed like he had aged twenty years in a single night. He sat on the bench, listening to his daughter's heartrending cries.

In the end, Wu Ruoqing was only an accomplice in an unplanned murder. Minister Wu directly used his connection and wealth to bail his daughter out. As for his son in law? The man had harmed both of the Wu Family's children! Why should Minister Wu help him?!
