Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 212 - Updated Later

Chapter 212 – Updated Later

Mira, Del, and Anna were in the command center. Del gave Mira a white gold coin as a payment for the job that she did last night. Needless to say, Del was not happy about the current finding. He wondered what kind of weird thing he would find in the future. Morris hadn't arrived at the cabin yet.

"Boss, what did you find?" Mira asked.

"Which one that you want to know first? The worst or the other?" Del asked.

"Up to you, boss."

As usual, Anna was sitting on a chair while sipping on a cup of coffee. She didn't participate too much in the discussion, mainly because her assignment was to find whoever Salve Group was looking for. So far, progress had been smooth for both of them.

With Mira's help and her lack of threat, the investigation would progress way smoother. The security division wouldn't be any wiser either, mainly because Anna was the member of it. She would have access to several unaccessible space in the academy. But still, she needed to be careful.

"Well, we found a nuke."

Anna glared at him. Mira didn't have any idea what a nuke was. Del gave an uneasy smile to the predicament. Anna put the coffee on the table and he walked to Del's direction. Somehow, the word "nuke" would always catch his attention.

"Missiles?"

"No, a dirty bomb."

"Hmm, that's quite unfortunate. But Del, what is the special ability of this nuke? After all, radiation wouldn't affect demons as bad as it would affect humans."

"Yeah, but even without a detonation, the container carrying that dirty bomb made our Geiger counter went nuts. With a detonation, it should be enough to burn the skin of all of the demons in this region and turn this area into an exclusion zone."

"What's a nuke? You two seem to be talking about some kind of evil weapons here."

"It is. It's the cause of the opera incident." Suddenly, Mira turned blue. She was more than aware about the opera incident. That explosion killed thousands of people.

"That weapon… oh my."

"Yeah, it seems that the imperial military wants the informant to be dead by any means necessary. Even if it meant killing the entire town for it. We managed to delay their plans, but with their boss roaming around, we are like patching a bullet hole with a band-aid."

"The boss? What do you mean, boss?"

"I'm talking about Bosch."

"Bosch?"

"You might know him more as Recker."

"Recker? The human activist? Boss, if an angel has a human form, it will be him. Why would he get involved in all of this? He is an anti-war activist, screaming about rights and you know the rest."

"Sometimes, the most well-kept secret is hidden in plain sight," Anna interrupted.

"Like I said, we know more about what you don't know and don't want to know."

"Hmm, yeah. By the way, about yesterday, Do you want to discuss it with us?" Mira asked Del.

"Sure, throw it away for me. After all, you only gave me a brief description of the result. What's the full result, and what did you two find while I was gone?" Del asked.

Anna put a piece of document of top of the table, "Alright, we conclude that Daniel is far from our suspect. After a short phone call to Lara, we did a full background check on him. It turns out that he wasn't even connected to any important people in terms of military organization."

"Hmm?" Del wondered.

"His father is a people's representative and he leaked vital information to federal military. That weapon blueprint, it turns out to be some sort of gas projectile for a long-range cannon. Yes, this is the thing that attacked us back then," Anna said.

"About his uncle, who is he?" Del asked.

"Well, this is the surprising part, to be honest."

"How so?"

"Van Bosch is his uncle. Yup, that's right. The bloody bastard that we are looking for turned out to be an uncle of our friend. Now I know why he doesn't make any move to the academy. He didn't want to risk the safety of Daniel," Anna said.

"Wasn't he looking for his head?" Del asked.

"I thought so, but it seems that the bounty on Daniel's head is greatly exaggerated. I think the money is simply not worth his time," Anna said.

Alright, two key people seemed to be involved with the imperial government in one way or another. Aveline would surely the person that they were looking for. However, Daniel would still sit on top of the priority list, mainly because of his connection.

Maybe Daniel could be used as a bait to get his uncle. However, was he aware that his uncle was in Sneggor all along? Or was it just an act that he didn't know anything about the current affairs.

Both of them were truly the men of so many faces, the uncle and Daniel himself. Both were known to be an angel, but one was one of the most wanted person in the trafficking ring and the other used to be a smuggler. Daniel might be still in contact with his uncle, or he might still be smuggling something into Sneggor.

"Boss, do you want me to capture Daniel?" Mira offered.

The offer was nice, but the timing was incorrect. "I'd love to accept, but we make too much noise this month. We can postpone it. Right now, the most important priority is to get the next piece of puzzle which is Aveline."

"Ah, Aveline Cordier, the student council president. She is the most famous people in the academy, at least, for now. What? Do you want to kill her or something?" Mira asked.

"NO! Not right now, at least," Del added.

"Alright, what do you want me to do with her then?"

"Can you capture her?" Del asked.

:"Boss, you must be nuts. If this person went missing for even an hour, the whole school would be looking for her. Can you give me an easier assignment, boss?"

"Well, can you snoop around her room? Find something interesting for me?" Del asked.

"That's easier, I think?"

"You think?"

"Boss, we're talking about snooping around, alone. I won't have an advantage like yesterday night. And out of all people, it's her. I can pull this off though, no sweat," Mira said.

"Great, I like that."

Del wanted to read the document more, later. He wanted to take a rest alongside with the others for now. This was still Sunday and tomorrow was Monday. They might be involved in some sort of military operation, but they were still in the academy.

So far, academically, he didn't struggle too much. Magic might be not his strong point, but he managed to get by. The rest of the subjects was fairly easy for him. He just needed to buy some textbook and he was set for studying.

Still, one way or another, some people disliked him for some unknown reasons. They might be jealous or something, but most of the time, he was like Mira. His past protected him from any small threat, but it did invite a big threat for an equally important person, just like how Aveline used his expertise to investigate the trafficking ring.

The security division hadn't helped him too much though, besides Anna giving him information that she retrieved from the archive of the security division. He wasn't exactly allowed to call for backups, mainly because Aveline only allowed it if any member of the academy got threatened.

It was Weird since Del was the member of the academy himself, why would she not providing security for him as well? Was it bccause she knew that Del was more than capable? Or was it because she was saving resources for more important assignments.

Well, who knows? Del was a member of the TMV, not the student council nor the security division. He just knew what was the condition of the slump and how the condition of his current organization. With situation being what it was, the status quo would stay, no matter how much effort they put in.

He was just there to get the basic medical training and the emergency medicine skill. It was important, mainly because how often he got shot and injured.

Anna made two other cups of tea for both Del and Mira. Del retrieved the cup and he sipped on that coffee. It was quite delicious, for what it was. Well, it was time to relax and read the report.

The report was quite detailed, but it didn't far too stretch from the basic resume that Anna gave just now. It just contained the information in details like where the source of the information was and how credible the information was.

It was all written by Anna in that short amount of time. Anna used the information from Morris and the intelligence agencies.. Needless to say, it would get harder and harder.
