Modern Weapon Summoning System

Chapter 169 - Updated Later

Chapter 169 – Updated Later

Del was in the command center, observing the area of operation from a drone feed. Anna and Mira were in the area of operation itself. What was the mission, if you ask? Those two people were infiltrating the academy, at nighttime. That's one of the reasons why the drone feed was useful.

"This is Blackfox, Vampir, I see you on the drone feed." Del radioed Anna.

===========================

"Copy that Blackfox. We'll be standing by, awaiting command."

The weather wasn't friendly, in fact, it was hostile. The town was under heavy blizzard. A thick mist of snow was covering their vision. Basically, if not for the night vision goggles or the help from the drone feed, they would practically be blind. Even then, reaching the dorm without anyone noticing would be rather difficult. Even if the lights were blacking out from the blizzard.

Mira was literally following Anna from behind, "Boss, why did your brother send us in this blinding blizzard?"

"Simple, little to no visibility for anyone, and the fact that the blizzard is so damn loud," Anna replied.

Mira only wore her regular snow gear, not really suitable for blizzard. However, Anna was pretty much way more prepared with her combat gear suitable for storming through thick blizzard. Anna could feel her eyes freezing and her hands froze. She wouldn't even dare to do that kind of operation in Mira's gear.

"Vampir, you're clear to move."

"Roger. Vampire is moving towards the dorm, over."

Although the academy used heating spell to heat its area, the power outage disabled that warming field and even if it was activated, it would be no match for the freezing blizzard. The weather report before the blizzard came suggested that the temperature would drop way below -35 degrees celcius. Basically, anyone crazy enough to go outside would immediately freeze to death.

The loadout was simple. Mira was given a regular Ilbistrium military-issued shotgun with suppressor and bean bag round to stun any student that came into her path. Anna was using a tranquillizer M700 rifle and a tranquillizer ammo for her pistol. For backup, she carried a suppressed P90 on her back. Of course, it was also loaded with rubber bullets.

They wanted to keep this as quiet and as non-lethal as possible. Killing any student on that dorm would raise suspicion. Hopefully, no one was still awake in the middle of this night blizzard or their plan would pretty much be doomed.

The plan was to infiltrate Daniel's room and retrieve whatever item of interest that was available on that room whether it was his personal belonging, his homework, or anything that might contain the document. Of course, Daniel would be sedated using a tranquillizer dart.

Mira was living in the dormitory right across the boy's dormitory. Although, she wouldn't be sleeping there that night. She had told her dormitory caretaker that she would stay with Anna for the weekend. Of course, it was only a ruse for today's operation.

"Blackfox, I'm on the back entrance of the dorm. Moving inside."

"Copy that Vampire. You'll be in the dark. Blackfox out."

Anna retrieved the key from the security division and put it on the keyhole of that dormitory. There was no security measure to prevent anyone that wasn't a member of security division or the inhabitants of the boy's dorm from entering with the exception of the lock on that door.

The dorm was a little bit warmer, mainly because the fireplace on the common area was still on. The warm air filled the dorm, but Anna still had the assumption that the temperature on that dorm was barely warm enough. Ice sheets had begun to form on the interior side of the glasses.

Daniel's room was in the second floor. It shouldn't be hard to reach it. The architect of the academy wasn't exactly the most creative kind of person. The layout of the boy's dorm and the girl's dorm was the same for the most part and it happened that Daniel was living on the same position as Mira's room on the girl's dorm. Anna had to say that she was surprised to hear that.

"Is this a coincidence that both of you are in the same room? Or is this something completely unexpected?" Anna asked Mira.

"It's just a coincidence, boss."

Different from the door leading to the dorm, any personal room only had its key owned by the owner of the said room only. Anna wouldn't have the key for Daniel's room so she had to result in a more non-conventional method. Yeah, lockpicking, it was something that both Del and Anna mastered.

They only needed two pins, and they could open any non-security door. Anna grabbed the lockpicking tool from her pocket and begun opening the door to Daniel's room. It didn't even take her three seconds and the door to Daniel's room was opened.

"Boss, you have a talent on the robbery sector, don't you?"

"I think so," Anna opened the door.

She pulled out her pistol and immediately shot Daniel twice with her tranquillizer pistol. Mira closed the door from behind and they begun searching the room for any item of importance. Well, there was a bolt-action rifle, a book, and a pencil on the desk. There were also boxes of ammunition. He might be loading ammunition before the blizzard hit.

There was also a piece of paper on the table. Anna picked up that piece of paper. It seemed to be a letter for someone named Dilluard. The content was unfinished, but the letter seemed to be informal as well.

"Ey, take a look at this," Anna gave Mira the letter.

She briefly read the letter, "I know it's a letter, but who's Dilluard?"

"Heck, as if I know. It seems that the letter is for someone rather important. Could it be that this letter is coming from his girlfriend?" Anna asked Mira.

"I don't know boss. It's Cordier, not Dilluard."

"So it's not her, then? Well, let's keep searching the room."

Anna opened the wardrobe and searched every piece of clothing in Daniel's wardrobe. She was annoyed with the amount of TMV regular outfit in there. Probably, among every ten shirts that Daniel owned, she had around six of those tan shirts.

Below of his wardrobe was a hiking backpack with a clear patch of the TMV logo. This boy was really adoring the TMV, huh? No wonder he was the leader of that organization. Anna couldn't understand why Del wanted to join the TMV. It might be just to recall with his old world experience, but she couldn't figure the content of his brother's mind.

"Damn, this boy really likes the TMV, huh?"

"I think so, boss."

"Blackfox, do you copy? This is Vampir."

"Blackfox here."

"Situation report. We don't find any item of interest in Daniel's room except for a letter for someone in the imperial ilbistirum, probably for a family member. Should I bring it there, over?"

"Roger, can you find more item, over?"

"Negative." Suddenly, Mira found something right below of his desk. It seemed to be another inside of an opened envelope. "Wait, I think I find another item. Stand by."

The letter was directed for Daniel, but it was not from Ilbistirum Imperial region. In fact, it was a letter without any address or any origin. Anna put the letter inside of her pocket and reported back to Del, "We found another letter, over."

"Alright, return to base, Blackfox out."

Anna cleaned the trace of her presence on Daniel's room. Both of them were wearing gloves so there shouldn't be any fingerprint. There was a window on Daniel's dorm. They could get out using the window, even though the blizzard was still happening outside.

Anna opened the window and she jumped out, followed by Mira from behind. The strong wind closed the window immediately. There shouldn't be any trace of her. Well, mission was complete, it was time to return to the command room.

Mira and Anna sneaked out of the academy by jumping the wall surrounding the entire academy. They then ran as fast as they could from the academy while shielding their eyes from the blizzard. Until they gained enough distance, Anna carried Mira on her back and flew back to the cabin. Del would be happy to see what they had.

=============

Mira and Anna were sitting down on the living room of the cabin. Del offered both of them hot coffee to thank them for their hard work. "Here you go, you two. Good job." Del gave the two mugs of coffee to both of them.

"Thanks bro," Anna said.

"I really appreciate it, boss."

Del wasn't exactly in his casual gear either. He was in his tactical gear, waiting for the helicopter team to pick him up from the cabin to attack the convoy. Anna wouldn't participate, mainly due to her having to keep her eyes on Mira.. Nevertheless, the mission was a success and Del would listen to the result after he returned from the attack mission.
