Chapter 415 – Jasmine Is Pregnant
"Mum, you know that is not true. I was upset with father earlier because it is obvious he is trying to make things difficult for Jackson. I just can't watch him bully my man without interfering…," The sudden nauseous Jasmine instantly covered her mouth. She ran in the direction of the restroom when the desire to vomit persisted.
Her action scared the wits out of her mother. Mrs Avans once serious expression turned soft as she hurried into the restroom to check up on Jasmine.
She repeatedly rubbed the vomiting Jasmine's back. The two of them went back into the mini sitting room after she had finished cleaning up herself.
Mrs Avans sitting beside her second daughter turned to face Jasmine with a worried look.
"Jasmine, what is wrong with you? Are you perhaps sick? Do you want me to call Doctor Arthur to check up on you?" The concern Mrs Avans asked caringly.
"Mum, that's not necessary. I believe I vomited earlier because I had too much to eat so there is no course for an alarm," Jasmine lied without batting an eyelid.
"You ate a lot?" Mrs Avans asked, her tone showing that she didn't believe the excuse her daughter just gave her.
"Earlier at lunch, despite that, you were pretending to be eating I noticed that you only ate little. Apart from that, you were very selective of the food at the table. This is something you have never done," Mrs Avans pointed out what she noticed.
Why did mum have to be so observant? Now how do I get out of this trouble without revealing the truth of what is really wrong with me?
Jasmine thought as she tried to think of what lies to tell her mother.
"You didn't even eat food that was your favourite. Even when you were a child you never loved drinking milk except when forced to do that but earlier I notice you asked Trisha to get you a cup of warm milk. You didn't taste a single drop of the wine at the dining earlier and this leads me to my question…," Mrs Avans trailed, her gaze focused on Jasmine's face.
"What exactly is wrong with you Jasmine Avans?" Mrs Avans asked as she stare into Jasmine's eyes. Jasmine instantly avoided her gaze and action made Mrs Avans certain that something was wrong with her daughter.
"Mum, nothing is wrong with me. I am ok," Jasmine denied standing up to her feet. She made to leave the room and avoid answering the question but her mother's next words made her stop walking.
"Are you not gonna tell me the truth? Would you rather I call Doctor Arthur to come over and check up on you in the presence of everyone?" Mrs Avans cold voice made Jasmine turn to stare at her mum.
"Your new habits and symptoms point to one thing and this leads me to my second question, are you perhaps pregnant Jasmine Avans?" Mrs Avans asked. She was slightly taken aback when Jasmine rushed to her side after her question.
"Mum, lower your voice down or someone else, especially father might overhear your words….,"
"Jasmine don't tell me you are pregnant?" Mrs Avans asked in total bewilderment. Her stunned expression soon turned to an angry.
"Hey, Jasmine how could you let yourself get pregnant for a man who hasn't gotten your parents permission? Do you even know what your father will do if he learns that his daughter got pregnant out of wedlock…,"
"That's why I asked that you keep your voice down hmm," Jasmine pleaded as she held her mother's hands and caressed them affectionately. Mrs Avans instantly brushed Jasmine's hands-off.
"Did that jerk decide to visit us because he has finally got you pregnant? He sees the need…,"
"Mum, Ice Prince doesn't know that I am pregnant. I intend to keep the pregnancy a secret until it reached his birthday," Jasmine said honestly. Mrs Avans frown upon hearing her daughter's words.
"When is his birthday and how long is your pregnancy?" Mrs Avans said sounding more composed at the moment.
"His birthday is coming up in two months and I am over two months pregnant," Jasmine said sounding nervous especially when she saw her mother's expression turn angry.
"You are over two months pregnant and you intend to keep the secret for another two months? Have you suddenly gone stupid Jasmine Avans?" Mrs Avans asked to the confusion of Jasmine who had no idea why her mother called her stupid.
"You are over two months pregnant so that means it's a matter of time your stomach starts protruding so tell me how you are gonna keep it a secret without others realising it?" Mrs Avans asked in a scolding tone.
"And who is gonna take care of you in these two months if you don't reveal your pregnancy to him? Is it you?" Mrs Avans asked firmly and Jasmine nodded.
"Despite that, you are my daughter I can never trust you with the life of my first grandchild so you better think of how to reveal the truth to him or else I will be forced to not only tell him about it but also your father," Mrs Avans threatened in a fierce tone.
"Father doesn't know about my pregnancy and he treats Ice Prince this way. You and I know very well how he will treat Ice Prince if he dares learn about the news of my pregnancy…,"
"Even so, you don't expect me to leave the life of my grandchild in your care for two months right?" Mrs Avans interrupted Jasmine sharply. Jasmine drew closer to her mother, lifts and mothers hands and place them in her palms.
"That's is why we will rely on you to help us talk to father. Father permitting him to marry me is also a happy occasion to Ice Prince so I will tell him the good news on that day…," Jasmine trailed as she pats her mother's hands affectionately.
"With father's temperament, I know he won't give Ice Prince his permission but not when you intervene. Although you always follow father's arrangement I know that father listens to you so I am sure he will…,"
"You are using me, Jasmine!" Mrs Avans exclaimed as she frowned.
