"You insolent….,"
"Can you guys stop fighting at the dining table?" Mrs Avans cold voice made everyone readjust. Although her words sounded like a suggestion the two sisters knew this wasn't a suggestion but an order.
"A visitor is here, so let's at least pretend to be a loving family for his sake, hmmm," Mrs Avans added and surprisingly no one talked after she finished talking.
After Mrs Avans warning, they all ate in peace. During the meal the weird thing everyone noticed about Jasmine attitude was how she repeatedly selected food. She even refused to eat some side dishes which are known to be her favourite.
"Jasmine, are you ill?" Elizabeth asked in a worried tone after Jasmine announced that she was done eating.
"I am fine. I just feel a little sick in the stomach. I guess that is why my body is selecting food now," Jasmine said with a smile. None at the table could guess whether or not she was telling the truth.
Mrs Avans didn't speak, she only examined Jasmine with her eyes.
"Sister-in-law, health is important so do take good care of yourself," Alfred said caringly.
"Telling her that is useless since she will do otherwise. The only one capable of taking care of her is Jackson. And you don't have to tell Jackson to take care of her since I am sure he will do just that," Elizabeth said, smiling at Jasmine.
"Lizzy, I don't mind you saying that but be careful so you don't get scolded by father," Jasmine said as she stood up from the dining and walk towards the direction of the sitting room.
Jackson dropped the cutlery on the plate and stood up after she left. He turned to face the direction of Master and Madam of the house.
"Thank you so much Auntie and uncle for the meal, I enjoyed it," Jackson said in a calm tone.
"As long as you loved the meal then it's ok," Mrs Avans respond while staring at him.
"I will excuse myself now," Jackson said before he hurried towards the sitting room too.
When he reached the sitting-room he met Jasmine rubbing her tummy. The expression on her face while rubbing her tummy showed that of discomfort.
"Jasmine, are you sure you don't want us to visit the doctor? You look unwell," Jackson expressed his feelings as he sat beside her.
"That is not necessary. I only feel a little discomfort because I ate too much. I will be fine after some minutes rest so there is no need to go to the hospital," Jasmine said as she forced on a smile so he won't get too worried.
"You…,"
"So how did you find having a meal with my entire family? You must find it terrible right since we argued like enemies?" Jasmine asked as she hugged and lean her head onto his shoulder.
"I find it fun and I didn't find the argument part horrible but I find it entertaining…,"
"You find us arguing at the dining table entertaining? Are you sure you are ok?" Jasmine asked surprised at Jackson's words. She had expected him to hate the atmosphere earlier at lunch but instead, he find it fun?
"Every family have their dramas, yours and mine are not different. And while arguing you both didn't look like enemies like you said but you guys looked like a family who cares a lot about each other," Jackson said how he truly feels.
"I found the atmosphere earlier lively because of how all of you interacted. It is a thousand times more lively than when I and my mum have a meal together," Jackson said as he pats her hair affectionately.
"You are the only guy in this world who will think that way about my family after what you witnessed," Jasmine said as she raised her right hand to play with his face.
"Alfred and I get along very well now. Sister-in-law and I are also on good terms. I love your family a lot. I consider your family as mine so there is no reason to criticise it. I can't wait to officially become a member of your family," Jackson said with smiles.
"Mum seems to like you too, it is a matter of time your wish comes true," Jasmine said beaming at him. Jackson continued smiling when he heard her words.
Although her mum seems to like him, the only problem now lies with Jasmine father. He knew pleasing the man won't be easy but he won't give up no matter how difficult it is.
"Jasmine, after we leave here we are gonna hang out with the others so don't forget that," Jackson said in case she had forgotten about the appointment they made with the others.
"How could I forget about that? I have been dying to meet them again, I didn't forget it," Jasmine said beaming. The mere thought of meeting everyone again makes her elated and anxious.
Just then Jackson heard approaching footsteps. He was the first person to sight his father-in-law from afar so he quickly tapped Jasmine by the head.
"Jasmine, your father is here," Jackson said as a signal for her to sit properly. Jasmine removed her head from his shoulder and sat properly when she heard her father was coming.
Her action wasn't as a result that she was afraid of her father but she did this all for Jackson's sake. She wants his wish of being a part of her family to come true soon.
Jackson composed himself as much as he could. Since he arrived there he has been holding back from talking too much or touching Jasmine frequently like he normally did.
The first rule of impressing the in-law was being of good conduct and not talking too much. Dressing properly was also one of them. He was well dressed so he was certain her parents were satisfied with his clothes.
He can't afford to make them dislike him because of his conduct.

GOAL 1: Reach 100 GOLDEN TICKETS to get 10 chapters mass release. Last year, our aim was always 50 GOLDEN TICKETS so let's aim for something greater this year. As long as we reach 100 GOLDEN TICKETS this January 2022, I promise to give 10 chapters mass release.
GOAL 2: For every super gift we get this month I will give 5 chapters mass release. To show you how grateful I am each time I receive super gifts like MAGIC CASTLE, SPACECRAFT etc, I will give 5 chapters mass release.
GOAL 3: For every 10 reviews I will give 3 chapters mass release. Last year I can count the number of reviews we got with my fingers so darling readers let's achieve this goal for a change.
P.S: Since I have become an author I have never promised so many chapters as a mass release and I am sure I won't be able to promise 18 chapters as mass release ever again so guys grab this chance while you can.
This might look like it is a goal for only my readers but it is also a goal for me as an author. Promising you guys 18 chapters as the mass release is a challenge to me too so let's woke hard together this January.
