Mission XX: Seducing The Great Seducer

Jasmine did not utter a word until they got to the Avans Group building which the press conference is scheduled to take place. Even before they arrived the reporters invited had already arrived. Media houses that were not invited were not let into the building.

About three minutes to the time the press conference was about to start, Eric entered the room they were getting prepared. From his expression, Jasmine could see that he had something important to do.

"Chairman, you should see this," Eric said as he handed the white iPad in his hand to Mr Avans. Mr Avans collected the iPad and watch the video currently showing on the screen. Jasmine sitting close to her father peeped at the video. Jasmine watched the video playing with keen interest. After all the important stuff had been said, Jasmine pulled away.

"How could Kai say that? Is he stupid?" Jasmine muttered as she stare into space.

"How could you call him stupid? You should be thanking him for cleaning up the mess you created instead of calling him stupid. If he did not do this the netizens would have swallowed you alive," Mr Avans said coldly.

"Young Miss, Chairman is correct. If Young Master Allen did not hold a press conference and announced that you both had secretly cancelled the engagement, the issue wouldn't have been easily resolved even though we had held a press conference. For him to have done this shows that he likes you a lot," Eric said in a calm tone.

"Yes, I know that he did this to shut up those idiots talking bad about me out there but why did he announce such a thing without discussing it with me?" Jasmine asked as though the person she was talking to was Kai.

"You should be grateful Young Master Allen is a good man. If it was other men they would have used this opportunity to not only ruin your reputation completely but also give our family a bad reputation," Mr Avans said as he stood up from the chair he was sitting on.

"So are we still holding the press conference now that Kai has said all those words...,"

"Of course we are still holding it. You are going to apologise to everyone for not cancelling the engagement public. You are also going to apologise to the Allen family for the embarrassment you caused them," Mr Avans said as he approached the exit.

"I did not do anything wrong so why is he asking me to apologise?" Jasmine said feeling reluctant to apologise.

"Young Miss, just do as Chairman said. If it was not because of his intervention the news would have blown out of proportion...," Eric trailed as he stare at the frowning lady.

"On hearing that Young Master Allen was holding a press conference many of the reporters had left so you don't have to worry about being bombarded with questions. We have given the reporters the questions they are supposed to ask you, they won't dare do otherwise when the Chairman is there," Eric concluded in a calm tone.

"I would have done that even though you did not speak so much. With father around, I will not be able to do as it pleases me," Jasmine as she walked out of the room.

Although she was reluctant to attend the press conference Jasmine, did as her father instructed. She elegantly stepped into the large hall mainly made up of reporters and staff of the Avans Group.

The reporters captured every movement she made. The cameras followed her until she took a seat close to her father.

No matter how provoking some of the reporters questions were, she answered them in a composed tone. When the press conference ended Jasmine was glad to see Catherine waiting to take her home.

Despite that the press conference was held, the news about her video with Jackson continued to be the topic of discussion of some people.

A week later and Jane was still furious about her cousin's press conference. Today just like every other day, Jane and Rose were having lunch in their favourite restaurant and the issue about the press conference was still the topic they were discussing.

"Each time I recall what Kai said I can't help but feel furious. He is my cousin. My blood so how could he defend that lady?" Jane said with a tightened fist.

"How dare he publicly announced that b*tch as Jack girlfriend? Jack doesn't like her. In fact, he can never like a woman like her," Jane said angrily.

"Maybe, Kai was slightly muddle-headed that is why he defended her. Also maybe he did what he did because Jasmine has successfully bewitched him with her charms," Rose said while staring at Jane's face.

"No matter what reason he did such a terrible thing to me, he is inexcusable. This was our greatest opportunity to make that proud lady lose face everywhere she goes so why on earth did he help her?...," Jane trailed not being able to hide her anger.

"Jack is mine and he will always be mine. Never will I let any other woman steal him from me," Jane declared fiercely.

"Jane, lower your tone slightly because people are staring at us," Rose said in low tones on realising how weirdly other customers were staring at them.

"I am so pissed at that b*tch and Kai. If I dare set my eyes on her, I will teach her a lesson to the point that next time even though she sees me she would be too ashamed to utter a word," Jane said with gritted teeth.

I wish you would be able to do that. Jasmine is known for being shameless making her ashamed is an impossible job if I must say.

Rose thought as she continued staring at her furious friend.

The two ladies continued talking until the time for their lunch break almost elapsed. After paying their bills they made to approach the entrance and just then they bumped into Jasmine and Catherine. Jasmine had no intention of exchanging words with Jane but Jane deliberately blocked their path just to pick a fight.

"Hey, the number b*tch in the City is here," Jane said loud enough for other customers to hear. Other customers turned to look in their direction after her words.
