"Cat, why didn't you inform me about what happened? Seeing how composed you were in the airport I am sure you knew everything. In fact, it looked like everyone knew what had happened back home except me so why did all of you keep it a secret from me?" Jasmine asked seriously as she focused all her attention on Catherine. The driver made sure not to get distracted by the ladies conversation.
"Because I thought it was better you didn't know. Besides you had told me before we arrived at the Maldives that I shouldn't discuss with you anything work-related that is why I didn't reveal anything to you about the incident," Catherine defended herself in a calm tone. She knew telling Jasmine about the news circulating back at home will only ruin their already perfect trip that is why she asked their employees back home to handle everything.
"Why did you think it was better I didn't know? Cat, the news involves Ice Prince too. If it was only me I would have been cooled with it but do you know the impact the news must have had on his reputation and company?" Jasmine asked sounding pretty upset.
"Yes some people are speaking ill about Jackson on the internet but Jackson seems to be cool with it...,"
"He might be cool with it but I am not. It's enough that I already have a bad reputation, his name shouldn't be added to the list," Jasmine said without thinking before she speaks.
"I thought you said you don't have feelings for him so why are you overreacting? You are not angry that almost everyone on the internet is calling you a b*tch and yet you are upset because a few people insulted him, you are something else Jasmine," Catherine said in a mellowed tone.
"Who says I have feelings for him? I am just worried about him. I am worried that the perfect image he has built up all these years will get ruined all because of me," Jasmine tried to find an excuse for her show of concern towards Jackson.
"You can keep deceiving yourself for all I care but just know that you can't fool me," Catherine said unwaveringly.
"And you also don't have to worry about his company because the news benefitted both companies a lot...,"
"I am indeed worried about the impact of the news on him but I am more worried about what father will do to him and his company. As you know father already hates him because of the photos of us he saw. I am afraid he might do something bad to his company," Jasmine finally expressed her fears.
"Although your father has a bit of temper, he is not irrational so I am sure he will not do anything terrible to Jackson or his company. Don't worry everything will be ok and who knows, this scandal might be a blessing in disguise. It might be your opportunity to get out of the arranged marriage," Catherine said grinning wickedly.
"I really hope you are right," Jasmine remarked as she placed her head on the seat and closed her eyes. She only opened her eyes when the driver stopped at Catherine's apartment.
"Take care of yourself. I will call later," Catherine said as she opened the door to step out of the car.
"Cat, I know you like Pretty Boy a lot but I advise that if you don't like him to the point of wanting to be the mother of his children just yet, you both should always use condoms while having sex. A one night pleasure can produce a baby in nine months, don't forget that," Jasmine advised not caring that the driver was still inside the car.
"I should be saying that to you. With the way you and Jackson are going I am scared that I might become a godmother in nine months," Catherine said playfully as she stepped out of the car. The driver came out of the car to help her offload her luggage.
"Goodbye," Jasmine said before her driver drove off.
On getting to her mansion, the first thing Jasmine did was shower and change into something comfortable. After dressing up, she did not even put her butts down to relax when her phone rang.
Seeing that it was a phone call from her mother, Jasmine was very elated, she instantly answered the call and began talking.
"Hello Mum, how have you been? Although the trip was only for a week, I am sure you must have missed me a lot right? Don't worry mum, I brought you a lot of amazing stuff. You will love it, I can assure you of that," Jasmine said out of excitement.
"Now that you are done having fun I guess it's time for you to clean up the mess you created before you left right?" Jasmine heard a man's cold voice at the end. Hearing that it was her father, Jasmine removed the phone from her ears.
Damn it! It's my father. I can't believe he and mum tricked me again.
Jasmine thought as she made to disconnect the call but her father's stern voice made her paused instantly.
"Don't you dare hang up the call because if you do, I promise to do the very thing you dislike the most," Mr Avans said in a tone that carried a hint of threat.
"You are threatening me again. This is not fair," Jasmine said with a clenched fist. She felt like punching the centre table but she controlled herself.
"If it's not fair then learn to stay away from trouble and also try to make yourself incapable of being threatened then you won't have to always lose to me," Mr Avans said proudly to the further annoyance of Jasmine.
"You are just a big bully so what's there to be so proud of?" Jasmine muttered not knowing that her father heard her.
