Mission XX: Seducing The Great Seducer

Elizabeth and Alfred laughed at their naughtiness.

After the laughter and jokes had lied down, the next in line got ready for their turn.

"What was her sentence again, I have forgotten," Steve said pretending as though he did not recall Catherine's words. His motive to make someone repeat those hilarious words were so obvious.

"Today, let's make love to each other," Jasmine said imitating Catherine's expression and tone while saying those words. Everyone ended up laughing afresh but their laughter didn't last for long since Steve had to talk.

"Other than you, I want nobody else in this lifetime," Steve said while staring into Evelyn's eyes.

Evelyn stretched and peck Steve on the lips after he said those awesome words.

"I don't want anyone else either," Evelyn whispered into his ears beaming. Everyone watched their brief sweet moment in silence. Steve and Jeff looked forward to what Evelyn will say to Jane.

"Lifetime is too short to tell the kind of devil she is," Evelyn said seriously while staring into Jane's eyes.

She is directly attacking me so I will flare up. I won't let her get what she wants.

Jane thought with gritted teeth.

"Is she jealous of me?" Jane said while staring in Jasmine's direction.

"Why on earth will I be jealous of her?" Jasmine mumbled frowning knowing very well that Jane was referring those words to her.

The game went on for a long time. With Jasmine, Jeff, Steve and naughty Evelyn around there was no dull moment.

An hour after the game ended Jasmine was seen drinking alone in their sitting room. Catherine who had gone into the bedroom to answer Jeff's phone call was surprised when she came out and saw Jasmine drinking the highly intoxicated wine they had used for the game.

Catherine quickly went to sit down beside Jasmine when she saw the sad mood she was in.

"Jasmine, what is wrong? You were previously very happy. You were smiling throughout the entire game so what is wrong now? Why is your expression so gloomy? You didn't think about the past did you?" Catherine asked as she held Jasmine's left hand and caressed it gently.

"Jasmine, I am your best friend. I have always stood by you, you know you can tell me anything. Don't keep things to yourself or you will feel sick," Catherine said as she continued caressing Jasmine's left hand.

"Nothing is wrong. I just feel empty and sad for some reason," Jasmine said as she sipped from the glass of wine.

"I know I am rich. My family is filthy rich. I have everything money can buy but I feel like something is missing in my life. Something that every money in this world combined will not be able to buy," Jasmine said in a sad tone.

"Is this thing you feel is missing love, happiness or peace of mind?" Catherine asked curiously as she stare into her eyes which carries immense sadness.

"Love? You know I don't give a damn about those four letters word...,"

"But that you dont care about it doesn't mean that this dead heart of yours which has begun reviving doesn't care about those four letters word," Catherine said as she hit Jasmine's chest with her index finger to emphasise what she said.

"What do you mean my heart has begun reviving?" Jasmine asked sounding confused.

"Before you always avoided getting your emotions attached to anything or anyone and this is one of the reasons you were able to maintain your fierceness all these years but that hasn't been the case since the arrival of the three guys. You have gotten yourself attached to them to the point that I often wondered how this happened," Catherine said seriously.

"Although you have barely known the guys, if outsiders see you interact with them they will think that you have known them forever. If I am not wrong then I guess they are the reasons why my best friend who always acts like she is incapable of feeling pain feels sad. I am sure their presence has ignited that dead thing inside of you that is why you feel pains and empty at the same time," Catherine concluded in a meek tone.

Jasmine took a few seconds to digest all Catherine had said.

"No, that can't be true," Jasmine said shaking her head in denials.

"What can't be true? Is it the fact that you are attached to the guys or that you seem to have developed feelings for Jackson?" Catherine asked staring at Jasmine denial's face. She could see that her friend doesn't even know that her cold heart has been melted without her knowledge. Anyways she can't blame Jasmine for being so dense when it comes to matters of the heart. Since the incident that left Jasmine heartbroken, Jasmine had murdered her heart with her hands.

"Cat, what the heck are you saying? I have no feelings for Jackson...,"

"Really? Then tell me why you always choose to hang out with him even when Kai and the guys are around? And hasn't your principle always been to ignore those who are of no use to you, so can you give a reasonable explanation as to why you always seized every opportunity to drive him insane with your numerous teasings? I am certain you have kissed him secretly over five times, also give me explanations for that," Catherine said in a very serious tone.

"I want to hear your reason for always getting close to him despite knowing that he has someone he loves," Catherine added as he waited to hear her usual talkative friend say something but alas Jasmine could not utter a word.

"What is wrong? Why haven't you utter a word?...,"

"Cat, I have no feelings for Ice Prince. All that happened is a coincidence. I am sure you are just overthinking," Jasmine said standing up.

"My best friend getting close to a man when she hasn't done that for over five years is a coincidence?" Catherine asked rhetorically as she stare at Jasmine who was almost at the door.

"What kind of goddamn coincidence is that, best friend?" Catherine asked sternly.

"I am going out...,"

"Let me come along with you?" Catherine said as she attempted to stand up but Jasmine's words stopped her in her track.

"There is no need for that. Stay back, I am sure Pretty boy will come to look for you so he can fulfil your wish, 'Today, let's make love to each other'. Look forward to how he is gonna fulfil your wish," Jasmine teased with smiles on her face before she left their hotel room.

"That friend of mine will surely be the death of me," Catherine said shaking her head.

Reaching outside, the tipsy Jasmine bumped into Jackson.

"Are you ok? I hope you didn't get hurt?" Jackson whom Jasmine bumped into asked worriedly.

"Yes, I am good," Jasmine said forcing on a smile.

"Did you drink?" Jackson who perceive the smell of alcohol on her asked curiously. As far as he could remember Jasmine did not miss any round of the game and as such, that is why she didn't take a sip out of the wine prepared for the game. He did not understand why she smelled of alcohol.

"Hmm... I am not in a great mood that is why I drank to see whether my mood will improve but sadly that did not happen," Jasmine said before she began walking away. Jackson followed her closely. He wanted to keep her company.

"You were in a great mood earlier so what happened that your mood suddenly turned bad? Did you think of someone or memories you shouldn't recall?" Jackson walking beside her asked curiously.

"No, I just suddenly feel empty and sad. I guess my body is reacting this way because it has been a long time I last party," Jasmine said as she continued walking further away from the hotel building. The direction they took was leading them to the beach.

"Party? It hasn't been three weeks since we went to the club to celebrate your company's successfully launching of the game 'The Gamer', so why are you saying it has been long you last went to a party?" Jackson asked as he tried hard to guess what must be going on through her mind.

"I was in a very bad mood that day if you were observative like you have always been," Jasmine said as she wrapped her hands around her body like she was trying to shield her delicate skin from the freezing night breeze.

Seeing how she was shivering because she was wearing so little Jackson quickly removed his black jacket and cover her with it.

"Thank you. You are more gentle than I thought," Jasmine complimented beaming at him. Her smile gradually disappeared a few seconds later.

"That day was supposed to be my sixth wedding anniversary that is why you saw me behave the way I did that night," Jasmine revealed to the shock of the poor guy who subconsciously halted on hearing her revelation.
