Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 350 Most Likely Reason (1)

Malek furrowed his brows. He asked, “When you said ‘me,’ do you mean ‘you,’ or Disciple Tyr?”

Pointing this out made the rest of the council members look at Kyran with wide eyes.

They had been seeing Kyran as Tyr lately they had somewhat forgotten that he, as Kyran, was also targetted by the Royal Army.

No, it was no longer just the Royal Army but the Royal Family.

Kyran smiled bitterly and said, “Both.”

“Both?”

Malia was the first one to react. While the others were a tad second late before exclaiming their exasperation.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re not telling us they already know about you?”

“How is it possible?”

Callan, Sigma ang Avrum said almost at the same time.

Noir and Vaness did not voice their concern, however, they furrowed their brows as they look at Kyran. Both were surprised, yet somehow felt it was possible.

Malek and Hugh, were the only ones who remained indifferent. Still, it was clear they were racking their minds to how it happened.

Kyran understood their reaction.

Going back a few minutes ago, when Kyran warped into the room he had stayed at the Conclave, he sensed four unknown auras.

He also sensed how the tower’s defensive array were keeping an eye on the movements of these four people. It was one of the formula he added. This formula was a passive array wherein it would keep a close eye on a mage with a level above High Master that enetered its area of effect.

And these four were all inside the conference hall with the rest of the Conclave High Council.

Kyran’s mind clicked into gear and realized that the emergency meeting Chairman Noir ans President Sigma had gone to had something to do with these four.

To get a better understanding of the Conclave’s situation, Kyran decided to talk with Stella.

Stella’s quarters were filled with enchantments, and a powerful array. However, in front of Kyran, it was nothing. So he did not hesitate to warp directly on her quarters.

Kyran found Stella standing at the foot of her bed, watching a projection that showed what was happening inside the conference hall.

What Kyran noticed at once was Stella’s worried expression. She did not even notice his arrival.

Without making any sound, Kyran also looked at the projection.

Though he had not met them before, Kyran recognized the three Deputy Marshals. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to make sense of their sudden appearance in the Conclave.

As for the middle-aged man, Kyran also recognized him but chose to ignore him for the time being.

It was at that moment that he witnessed the exchange between one of the Deputy Marshals and Sigma.

And that short exchange was enough for Kyran to have a grasp on what has transpired.

In any case, Kyran already knew about the joint military exercise and its detail, from the gold scroll Emperor Euan gave him. It also gave him a rough idea of what the Royal Family was up to.

But after hearing what Sigma had said, another idea had flashed in his mind which made him feel an incoming headache.

The tension in the conference hall doubled when the middle-aged man made a move against Sigma.

If Kyran had not revealed himself before Stella, she would have already gone to the conference hall and exposed herself.

Kyran knew how Stella might have felt after seeing one of her people being threatened, not by one, but four mages with higher mage level. The setting might be different, but he had a similar experience when the Royal Army arrived and started attacking his people. In the end, he was unable to help them and even had to escape.

Stella was shocked to find Kyran in her quarters. The incident on how Nolan easily left her quarters was one thing, but Kyran was supposed to be a newbie in magic.

In the end, Stella stopped her train of thought, recalling Kyran left with Nolan a few weeks back to train.

Nevertheless, finding Kyran’s magic level was pretty much on par with Nolan, shocked Stella.

But Kyran was not there to entertain Stella’s curiousity which was reflected in her eyes. Because they both realized that it was not only the middle-aged man had move against Sigma.

It was a good call for Malek to release his magic pressure to protect Sigma from the clawed shadows and also a good move for Hugh to shatter the looming attacks the Deputy Marshals were about to release.

Because of this incideny, Kyran finally decided to tell the Conclave everything he believed was the Royal Family’s pla.

But first, he had to assure them that he was not a liability, nor did he want the Conclave to help him. This was why he had spoken to them telepathically to let them understand he was not the same as before. His magic level was high enough to know how to use telepathy when communicating.

Kyran indeed receive a positive reaction fom the members.

After that, the Royal Army had not concealed their interest in Disciple Ryr, further confirming Kyran’s idea.

Finally, when the middle-aged man and the Deputy Marshals had left, Kyran warped in to the conference hall after tellih Stella to remain in her quarters and only go to the conference hall once the Royal Army left the tower’s premises.

“Before I explain further, let me ask you a question,” Kyran began.

The council members fell silent and looked at him intently.

“What do you think does the Royal Family need right now?”

“Manpower,” Vaness replied.

This was something they already discussed and they all believed it.

Kyran smiled slight and said, “Yes and no.”𝔬𝗏𝒍xt.𝗰𝔬𝕞

Without waiting for any of them to ask, he continued, “Yes, they need manpower, but no, they did not need several manpower but only one in particular. Because they believed this person has the capability to fulfill their special task.

“That person was Tyr.”

Sigma scowled, “I kind of get what you mean, but how does everything that has happened so far led to that?”

“They initially want to get Chairman Noir or President Sigma, to help them, but after doing a background check on Tyr, they believed getting him is better.

“Because they are convinced Tyr is someone from outside the empire who has a high status.”

“Wait, what?” Sigma asked again.

The others also felt the same.

To them, what Kyran had just said did not make any sense.

However, before any of them could ask Kyran further, the latter continued, “The incident at the Blacksmith Order today, has been instigated by thr Royal Family. It is to test Tyr’s capability and also understand him.”

Kyran heaved a sigh and shook his head, “It was unfortunate, but I kind of used an advanced array which Emperor Euan witnessed.”

“What?”

Almost all of them exclaimed in surprise.

“I’ll explain everything later, but, from the emperor’s attitude, he is covinced that Tyr is someone of high importance. This is why they will not dare provoke him in fear of having Tyr’s ‘backing’ to retaliate against the Royal Family.

“Right now, the Royal Family can not afford to do anything drastic because they were preparing for something very big. They don’t want others to know it.

“As for what they are preparing is, well…” Kyran paused for a second, his expression turning grim. “It has something to do with my clan.”

This was something Malek had an idea.

They knew the Regis Clan managed to stay safe inside the Regis Estate because their defensive array was powerful.

The Tower of Conclave’s defensive array boasted as one of the most powerful, if not the top most powerful defensive array in the whole Ylfaen Empire. But that was only because none of them had seen the Regis Estate’s defensive array.

In any case, for the Crown Princess to show interest, not to mention willingness to offer anything that the Royal Family could possible offer to get Tyr to work for them meant they were in need of a powerful Array Specialist to crack the Regis Estate’s defensive array.

Tyr might only be known as a specialist but he had proven to know advanced areay formulas. Not to mention, he was capable of creating an array almost in an instant.

This clearly showed Tyr’s worth and the Royal Family wanting to target him was reasonable.

Having a powerful Array Specialist was a good investment.

With this in mind, what Kyran said was correct. What the Royal Family was doing was indeed to target him as Tyr and Kyran.

Once Tyr helped them break the Regis Estate’s defensive array, they could then move to pressuring Kyran to reveal himself.

The Royal Family knew the strongest feat of a Regis, which also happened to be their weakness.

And that was their inability to leave their own clan alone in time of distress.

Still, how was the joint military exercise fit in this?

Kyran provided the answer, soon after.
