Last Shelter Online

Chapter 152

Hiro immediately rushed to the NPC recommended by the system to upgrade his current basic job class to an advanced job class.

On the way, he checked the leaderboard to see the progress of other players both in the same server and different servers.

From what Hiro found, not a single player had succeeded in changing their basic job class to an advanced level. Even though some of their job class levels had surpassed Hiro’s level because maybe they were focused on fighting monsters that gave a higher job class EXP bonus than the base EXP.

“Was the exam really that hard?” Hiro began to doubt if he could do it with his current strength. However, he wouldn’t feel satisfied if he had not tried it first.

“Welcome, Traveler.”

NPC Fred’s appearance didn’t change in the slightest. A barbarian NPC that always greeted Hiro in a friendly manner.

Hiro said the purpose of his arrival was to upgrade the basic job class. And NPC Fred told him how he could do that.

Ding!

[You have received a job class upgrade (Basic – Advance) examination card]

Inside the card that looked similar to an ATM card, there was a button that would display a transparent screen containing the progress of the job class upgrade exam if it was pressed.

“Thanks,” Hiro walked away from Fred.

To upgrade his job class, Hiro had to complete three steps before he could access the final examination.

[Step 1: Gather 15 crazy orc hearts]

[Requirement: Battle rating minimum 25,000]

[Step 2: Destroy 10 giant bunny dolls in the training area]

[Requirement: Finish the step 2 within 10 minutes]

[Step 3: Challenge and defeat NPC Fred in the training area]

[Requirement: Battle rating minimum 35,000]

[If you fail in step 3, the examination card will be forfeited and you must request a new one. Steps 1-3 might change in the new card]

“It looks like it will take a long time.” Hiro muttered again, confused which one to prioritize first. His duties seemed to increase, but the time he had was very limited.

“If only there were over 30 hours in a day.”

“Come on, Hiro. I remembered your brother can finish the examination within the same day,” Spyro chirped, then suddenly covered its mouth with its wings.

Spyro’s words were completely unexpected. It was as if it knew more than what it had told Hiro so far.

“You really still have a secret, don’t you?”

When Hiro was about to force Spyro to tell him the truth, he suddenly received a call from Jacob. Jacob asked about Hiro’s whereabouts and he requested to meet briefly.

Because he was taking a rest after completing his daily quest, Hiro told Jacob to come to Tavern at Beginner Town and meet him there.

The Tavern at Beginner Town was never empty of visitors. And the people who visited there were almost always the same people. Hiro even remembered their faces.

He often saw BigShow and his men who increased day by day in that place. Hiro was sure that there were only five of them before. It seemed that they already had a special place in the tavern. More than 10 chairs had been set up on the tables that had been put together just for them to gather.

“NightFall, you’re back!” BigShow waved his hand. The man signaled the skinny man next to him to give his seat to Hiro so Hiro could join them.

“Thank you, BigShow. But, I’m waiting for my friends.” Hiro chose to sit on the empty chair across the room. The quieter the better. He didn’t like crowds.

Jacob arrived after five minutes had passed. However, he didn’t come alone.

Noah and Cara came with him as if the three of them had planned it. Hiro looked at them with a flat expression. Jacob didn’t tell Hiro beforehand what he wanted to tell.

“Hiro, they agreed!” Jacob couldn’t hide his excitement in the slightest. He smacked the empty table in front of Hiro.

Slam!

Hiro arched an eyebrow.

“We will join you. Guild or whatever it is. I am in. And it seemed that it was your boyfriend too.” Cara spoke as if she had never been interested in joining a guild before.

At that time, Hiro remembered that he had given Noah and Cara time to think about his offer before he took a break. He had completely forgotten about it because of the many events he had experienced in such a short time.

“Really?!” Hiro stood up and his voice came out quite loud. It made BigShow and his friends turn their heads towards him.

“1…2…3…4…I need 6 more.” He had no idea that he wouldn’t have to go to the trouble of convincing Noah and Cara to join him. Hiro couldn’t hide his smile.

“What 6 more do you need, Hiro?” Jacob asked in a whisper.

“We still need 6 more players to register our guild.”

Slam!

BigShow suddenly banged on the wooden table in front of him until several glasses on it spilled its contents. His actions managed to attract Hiro and the others.

“Did I just hear the word ‘guild’?”

“Are you planning on creating a guild, NightFall?”

Hiro didn’t answer right away. His heart was a bit shocked at the loud thud made by BigShow. But, he suddenly got an idea.

Even though he saw the guild name written on BigShow’s avatar profile, he knew that the big man had always been interested in him since he told him the grinding spots that could speed up the progressive stats.

“We have six slots for our guild.” Hiro ignored the confused looks on Jacob’s and Noah’s faces as he shared the information with people they didn’t know.

“Only six slots?”

“Yes. At this moment. We need 6 more players to open the guild.”

“Cool! I believe that your guild will be awesome.”

BigShow left his seat and walked over to Hiro. His two eyes stared straight into Hiro’s eyes without blinking.

“I would be very proud if I could be one of the 6, NightFall. Will you consider my request?”

Hiro smiled simply. He knew he could pull off BigShow easily, just by using words.

“You and your main party are welcomed here.”

Hiro extended his right hand and BigShow greeted him without a second thought. He didn’t mention the slightest objection, even though he already had a guild.

Hiro had checked the name of the guild BigShow and his party members joined in. The guild was inactive. It could be seen from the activity points on the leaderboard menu. It didn’t matter if the guild lost five of its members at once.

“One more left.” Noah didn’t even mind Hiro’s decision, as if he recognized the potential that BigShow and his party members had. To create a guild, one of the most important things was that the party remained solid. And BigShow’s party already met that criteria. Noah had checked on them when they became the survivors at The Haunted Maze event.

“Cara, can you offer your little friend to join in?”

Hiro deliberately accepted five people from BigShow’s party because he already had one other name to join his guild.

“Which one?”

“You mean that beautiful dwarf lady, right Hiro?” Jacob was sure of his guess, as if he could read Hiro’s mind.

“Right.”

“And the last thing that we need is a name. Let’s talk about our guild name.”
