Kiss Me Not

Chapter 259 - We Caught Him

-UNEDITED-

Zach and his team began their military operation to seize down Duncan's Headquarters and arrest all his men as soon as the coronation ceremony ended.

Zach made sure that his team secured the premises first with his other men surrounding the building in all corners outside, including top to bottom if there would be an enemy's escape route through air or underground of the building.

"Clear!" Torin shouted as they checked each room in the old building that was Duncan's main headquarter. They used tear gasses to make sure that nobody could escape.

Gunshots were everywhere. Duncan's men aimed with open shots since the smoke was too much for them to seek the targets. In the end, all of them were helpless, either getting hurt or losing consciousness because of the tear gas.

It took longer than expected since there was a fierce fight between Duncan's men and the military. Fortunately, there were no casualties in Zach's men, but most were from Duncan's men.

Not so long, the fight finally ended. It was a successful operation where Zach and his team secured the building and arrested all Duncan's men in his main hideout.

Duncan was operating much business illegally, so they also shut it down simultaneously with Zach's subteam headed by General Drey and trusted military men of country B. They did not leave the most superficial details untouched, and everything went according to how they planned it. They wiped out Duncan's connections left and right on their list in just a day, leaving no one exempted.

High officials had no say since the ordain came directly from the King, who held all the power. They could not question the King's action because Gavin provided enough evidence against them all. They were all speechless and helpless, not expecting their doom on the coronation day of the new King.

These military operations were soon exclusively broadcasted and reported to the people of country D by GB Network, with Keira Chan as the main anchor partnered by known news anchors at country B the palace called on the spot.

There were various opinions on the current event. The people watching the breaking news were all shocked. They were already aware of the story behind the King having twins and not just Cedric as his son, but their previous King, Lucas, did not disclose much though he promised the people would know about it in due time.

The military officers arrested many high-ranking officials in the government, so the media at country B went haywire as everyone wanted to get an exclusive scoop of what was going on.

Sean handled that matter with the media as the palace's spokesperson.

"Please refrain from reporting news based on just assumptions and not facts. I repeat, the King would not tolerate fake news, and he only gave the authorization to the exclusive network who would handle all the reports based only on truths and facts. Anyone who would not follow these ordains will answer to the law," Sean reminded both the media and the public.

"What you are witnessing now is our new King bringing justice to the crime his family experienced years ago. And this will not stop here because, in his reign, he would make sure that injustice would not go unpunished to the people of country B."

Sean heaved a long sigh of relief after the interview. With a satisfied expression, he smiled at the thought that his King and good friend Lucas would finally be at peace now that his son brought justice for the man responsible for his family's tragedy years ago.

There were positive and negative responses from the people on the current event while they watched the news and followed how things would end. However, these happenings delivered only one strong message to the people of country B… Their new King was aggressive in unbiasedly punishing people who committed a crime regardless of their power or position.

Back at Duncan's Main Hide-out...

"I got Duncan!" Torin reported on the radio.

"Bring him to me," Zach instructed with a creased forehead. It looked like Luo was right with how she analyzed things would happen because they did not expect to catch Duncan in his headquarters, but Luo had this scenario voiced out last night.

Zach shook his head as he looked at the man Torin dragged before him. The man who claimed that he was Duncan.

"So you're saying you are Duncan?" Zach asked with a frown.

"I want to see the King! I have the right to see him! I would confess everything to him personally if he wanted to find out what happened that day when Cecilia died!" The man who claimed he was Duncan shouted.

Torin looked at Zach for further instructions.

"I will speak to Gavin first about it. Call Gavin," Zach instructed.

Gavin was already inside the room with Olivia and others when they received Zach's call.

"It's Zach, Your Highness," Will informed as he gave the wireless telephone in the room to Gavin.

"It's like how Luo predicted. The man saying he is Duncan is here with me, and he wanted to meet your father personally to say something."

"Please bring him here. Thank you, Zach," Gavin requested.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Gavin. Let me clear this man first and see if it's safe for him to be with you guys. We never know what is in Duncan's head. He managed to hide and keep his identity this long using many tricks on his sleeve. So I have this feeling that he had something planned in situations like this," Zach explained.

Gavin had a satisfactory smile as he answered, "you're an expert on this. I should let my military get trained under your jurisdiction. I feel like we are all lacking compared to you and your team. I will entrust everything to you, Zach. Do what you need to do, and we will proceed with the plan as Luo initially suggested."

Zach chuckled and said, "let's talk about it later. We will now leave this place, but I will still have a few men to monitor this area for a few days."

The call ended, and Gavin saw that all eyes were on him, waiting for the result on how the operation at Duncan's headquarters went.

"It's a success. Zach and his team got them all along with others of his illegal operating businesses here in our country," Gavin informed with a smile.

Everyone cheered except for one, Gavin's father, Lucas.

"What about him, son? Did they catch him?" Lucas asked. His heart was beating faster while he waited for his son's reply.

"Yes. We caught him, father. We caught Duncan.." Gavin answered.
