Kiss Me Not

At Derhan Palace, Country B…

In the palace of the Royal Family, several reporters were invited to cover the live press conference. King Lucas had something important to announce to the whole country today.

The higher-ups including the Cabinet members and the Prime Minister were also attending today's press con. The other members of the Royal Family could also be seen inside the palace.

The press con was set in the large Palace hall. This was the place where gatherings were being held. There was a large rectangular table at the front wherein the King, the Prime Minister, High-ranking Cabinet members and Royal Family would be sitting.

The royal guards were also scattered around the area for the security purposes. All the reporters who were invited today underwent a strict security inspection before they were allowed to enter the hall. 

Will and Kevin were both overseeing the safety and security inside the hall. The reporters were being escorted to their respected spot. They prepared several chairs for the reporters facing the rectangular table where King Lucas and others were assigned to sit.

The Prime Minister Greg arrived together with his daughter, Olivia and his wife. The Philips family were still mourning for the death of Oliver but they still didn't miss to attend this press con.

Olivia and her parents couldn't hide the hatred and displeasure on their faces as they stepped inside the Royal Palace. They were blaming the Royal Family for the failure of the rescue operation that led to her brother's death.

Several Cabinet members welcomed the Prime Minister and his family as they waited for the Royal Family to arrive. Fifteen minutes from now, the Press Con would start.

The royal guards and servants escorted them to their respective chairs at the front table.

Cain and Kimmy also entered the hall together. She was maintaining a certain distance from Cain as she still felt a little bit awkward about the intimate kiss they shared before.

As an excuse to stay away from Cain, Kimmy told him that she would just find her mother, Leila. She didn't wait for Cain's response as she left him in an instant.

Kimmy roamed around the hall, searching for her mother. She wanted to give her a heads-up about Gavin's identity so that she would not be shocked once the King introduced Gavin's real identity.

After a few minutes, Kimmy finally found her mother, talking with the other Cabinet members. She immediately walked over to approach Royal Highness Leila.

Upon reaching Leila's spot, Kimmy politely greeted the Cabinet members before she leaned to her mother, whispering something to her.

"Mom, come with me. Let's talk. There is something important I wanna tell you."

Leila's eyes brightened up when she heard that. She didn't expect that Kimmy would approach her willingly. Her daughter was always avoiding her but today she came looking for her.

'Ahem, don't tell me, Kimmy will talk to me about her relationship with Cain?' Leila  thought to herself with her sparkling eyes.

Leila couldn't hide the excitement on her face. She was grinning from ear to ear as she agreed to talk to Kimmy.

Kimmy grabbed her mother's hand and pulled her outside the hall. They found a place where they could talk privately without worrying about other people overhearing their conversation.

When the mother and daughter duo were now alone, Kimmy had decided to tell her about Gavin. She turned to her mother only to see her looking at her with her silly expression.

Leila was staring at Kimmy with her dreamy eyes. She was also smiling for no reason. Kimmy immediately released her mom's hand.

With a deep frown on her lovely face, Kimmy asked Leila, "Mom, why are you looking at me like that? And why are you smiling like a fool?"

Leila was dying to tease her daughter but she tried her best to hold it in. She knew Kimmy well. If she told her that she saw her kissing Cain, she was afraid that Kimmy would try another crazy thing like running away and avoiding her forever.

She wanted to wait for Kimmy. Maybe she would tell her first about her relationship with Cain, that's why she looked for her as soon as Kimmy entered the hall.

"Kimmy, tell me. What do you want to tell, Mom? I am willing to listen," Leila softly said, the smile on her face didn't fade.

Kimmy arched her brow while eyeing her mother suspiciously. She was surprised that her mother was not scolding her, instead, she was being soft-spoken towards her.

Leila looked like she was anticipating something to hear from her.

'What's wrong with my mother? She is acting weird today,' Kimmy lamented to herself before shaking her head.

"Mom, listen to me carefully. Brace yourself to what I am about to tell you."

Leila bobbed her head frantically, still thinking that this was all about Cain. "Okay, dear! I will be ready for whatever confession you are going to tell me."

Kimmy furrowed her brows when she heard her mother. 'Confession? What confession is she talking about?'

Kimmy just looked at her mother helplessly. She was really acting strangely today.

"Mom, this is about my cousin, Prince Cedric." 

"Cedric? It's about Cedric? Not Cain?" Leila said exasperatedly.

"Mom?! Are you trying to pair me up again with Cain?" Kimmy complained as Leila mentioned Cain's name.

Leila immediately covered her mouth and shook her head. It was just a slip of a tongue. She didn't have any intention to mention his name. But she was disappointed since Kimmy was here to talk about Cedric, Cain.

"What about Cedric?" Leila immediately said to divert the topic away from Cain.

"Mom, the Prince Cedric who has been with us for the past one year is not Cedric!"

"What? He is not Cedric?!! Kimberly, what nonsense are you talking about?!" Leila reacted right away, looking at Kimmy with disbelief.

Kimmy rolled her eyes skyward. "Mom, let me finish first."

"Cedric has a twin brother. And the person who is with us right now is Cedric's twin brother, Gavin! Cedric is still missing!"

"Twins? How's that possible?" Leila gasped in surprise.

Kimmy sighed helplessly. "I don't know the full details about this. Let's just wait for King Lucas.. He is going to explain everything to us during this press con."
