Kiss Me Not

Chapter 117 - Like The Good Old Days

Gavin smiled at his father but he was glad when a woman named Keira interrupted their talk because he was starting to feel awkward due to the contradicting emotions rising up within him.

"Geez, you were gone for more than a year. Gavin Wu is back from the dead!" Keira burst out crying and hugged him tightly as soon as Uncle Damiel released him.

"She's Keira Chan, our good friend, and your colleague. Your partner at the evening news from one year ago," Brione introduced the woman.

"Oh God, if you knew how boring the set has been since the day you left. Oh, we have a lot of catching up to do, you sneaky lover boy! Welcome back, Gavin! Gosh, you're really alive! This is so wonderful! My kids will be so happy to know that their funny Uncle Gavin is back!" Keira beamed. Her kids loved Gavin a lot and they would often stay at their Uncle Gavin's penthouse, as the man always spoiled them with chocolates and sweets.

"Thank you," Gavin whispered the words bashfully and smiled. He could feel the warmth in their welcome, but he was keenly observing his father.

"Let's go to your place. We can continue our conversation there. It's too crowded in here," Noah interrupted. Everyone nodded and started to walk to the exit where their cars were waiting.

"Uncle, let's meet up at the penthouse. Gavin and Brione can ride with us." Noah commented and Damiel nodded.

"Uncle Damiel, let's go," Keira whispered and pulled Uncle Damiel towards her car to ride along with her.

Meanwhile, the reporters would not stop following Gavin and Brione. They wanted to hear any statement from those two.

"Please tell us, are you two together!" one of the reporters shouted as they followed Gavin and Brione on their way out, but the security team blocked them.

Mitch together with Berry smiled at the reporters and said, "We will be answering all your questions from here."

"Please, can you tell us why they are holding hands? Are those two in a relationship?" one of the reporters asked, making Berry roll her eyes.

"They are asking such obvious questions, geez!" Berry murmured and Mitch elbowed her.

"Well, as we all know, Brione has already confessed that she loves Gavin Wu, her childhood friend, and best friend. Now, after a long search, she has found him. So, of course, those two are now officially in a relationship." Mitch answered with a smile.

"But we heard that Gavin Wu lost his memory so does that mean he also forgot about Brione!" One of the reporters commented.

Berry smiled and said, "Those two love each other a lot, and losing one's memory didn't weaken the feelings they had for each other. If you will excuse us guys, we need to leave now."

Mitch gave everyone a reassuring smile as she added, "Further details will be forthcoming in Brione and Gavin's exclusive interviews. Right now, we can only confirm that these two are indeed in a relationship. Thank you, everyone, for coming here."

Meanwhile, Gavin released a loud sigh in the car, which he was riding along with Brione, Noah and Luo.

"How did you feel when you first laid your eyes on Uncle Damiel?" Brione asked curiously.

"He was crying," Gavin whispered. He was in deep thought.

Then he added, "It felt real. I mean his eyes… He looked really happy to see me alive. I'm not sure yet. It's too early to tell. I'm honestly confused. It's like, in my heart, I could feel that love I have for him as my father but my mind has its doubts."

"That's natural since you two have an outstanding relationship as father and son that even I'm envious of," Noah confessed with a smile. He still couldn't believe that these two were not related by blood. But the DNA match between Gavin and the King of country B had proved, beyond any doubt, that they were the real father and son.

Noah had many questions and Gavin had promised he would explain everything once he returned.

Gavin looked at Noah and Luo who were eagerly waiting for further details as he had promised.

"It's safe to talk in here," Noah reassured Gavin, as the car had a soundproof partition between the rear and the driver seat.

Gavin nodded and disclosed everything to the couple. He narrated everything to them not leaving out even the simplest details.

"Oh my God. So you two are twins and Uncle Damiel may have a connection with Duncan? Wait… Uncle Damiel knew Brione went to country B, particularly to Perdu Island. So if he is Duncan's accomplice then they could suspect that Gavin is Cedric? Or they will assume that Brione may have come in contact with the Royal Family… Either way, you two are now a threat to Duncan," Luo analyzed.

"That is if Father is connected to Duncan and that's what I'm here to find out." Gavin interrupted.

Luo shook her head and mumbled, "This is too risky. Oh, your life is so twisted, Gavin. Geez, your life could be made into a blockbuster movie, it's so full of surprises!"

"I plan to confront my father now that I know I am not his real son. There's no need to hide any details from him, whether he is connected to Duncan or not. I want to hear what he would say," Gavin whispered.

"I agree with you. There's no point in hiding the truth from Uncle Damiel because if he is indeed connected to Duncan, then he probably knows what is going on. But if he isn't connected to Duncan then, as the father who raised you, he deserves to know that you have found out the truth about your parentage," Noah commented.

"Do you know what the problem is right now? Assuming he is connected to Duncan, they have probably weaved the perfect alibis to make you believe that he is not connected to Duncan. I'm sure they have already formulated a perfect story to make it look like he is in no way connected to Duncan." Luo mumbled.

Gavin chuckled and said, "Sister-in-law is very sharp. No wonder you are one of the best lawyers in the country."

"And you are so lucky that I am your sister-in-law, so you know you are in good hands!"

Brione shook her head with a smile, watching Gavin and Luo banter like the good old days.
