I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 249 - Black-Hearted Albion

"Which star realm, huh? This world is called the Netherfrost Blizzard Realm. But if you're asking which star realm it belongs to, then most likely, no one will be able to answer your question," Albion stated.

"I'm not a local here either, but from what I've seen and heard, the level of civilization in this realm has yet to advance to the interstellar phase to traverse the stars."

"I see…. The Netherfrost Blizzard Realm… I do not have any recollection of this name…" City Lord Baschmi muttered with a frown before he suddenly paused and looked up at Albion.

"Sir Albion is not a local? Does that mean other cities have also been transported to this world? Is there something special about this world, I wonder?"

"Well, I won't deny the possibility of otherworldly cities being transported exists. However, I came here of my own volition by means of a portal connecting this world and the next," Albion said while gazing back at the City Lord calmly.

"Nevertheless, for you to not be aware of what's going on, it seems that your world has not met any Soul Sprites to inform you about the Apocalypse."

"Soul Sprites? Apocalypse?" City Lord Baschmi repeated with a frown before shaking his head and said, "I have not heard of these two matters."

"I will have to trouble Sir Albion to explain them to me—if you don't mind."

"No problem."

A few moments later, Albion briefed City Lord Baschmi on the benefits that Soul Sprites can offer with their contractual system ability and the problem of converging worlds.

Being a man who leaned on the side of science, City Lord Baschmi was astounded by the truth of what was happening.

Nevertheless, City Lord Baschmi wore a thoughtful look and said, "The universe is known to be expanding infinitely, but this so-called Apocalypse sounds similar to a reversal of its expansion."

"If the myriad worlds converge, I wonder what the end result will be? Will we have a super world filled with chaos due to the clashing of conflicting world laws that govern each other world?"

"Or will the force of world convergence become too powerful and result in a gravitational collapse that can possibly generate a cosmic supernova so great that it can rival the big bang at the dawn of time, effectively wiping out all life?"

"This is interesting," City Lord Baschmi muttered to himself with interest before stating, "I should get my people to look into research this matter. Then, perhaps, we can make use of this change to harness a new source of energy."

City Lord Baschmi did not appear overly concerned by the end of the world but rather intrigued by it instead.

Shortly after, City Lord Baschmi cupped his hands together with a salute and expressed his gratitude, "Thank you for informing me of all this, Sir Albion. I owe you one."

"What do you think of my city?" City Lord Baschmi followed up with a question.

"What do I think, huh?" Albion recalled the various races of mixed descent on the bustling streets of the city before he said, "I think it's great; full of cultural aesthetics and value—just how I like it."

"Why? Are you thinking of gifting it to me?" Albion asked with a sly smile.

"Ahem! I did not mean that, Sir Albion!" City Lord Baschmi immediately coughed awkwardly before he explained wryly, "What I meant to say is, would you like to stay here? We could use an alchemist like you."

"You want to recruit me?" Albion smiled calmly with a shake of his head before he said, "Only people can work for me, not the other way around. Nevertheless, it's not impossible for us to cooperate instead."

"How can we cooperate?" City Lord Baschmi inquired eagerly.

The further they interacted, the more City Lord Baschmi felt that Albion was extraordinary—just by his composure and calmness alone despite fully knowing his cultivation level.

"Let's see…." Albion thought for a moment before he said, "I can refine pills and sell them according to your city's needs while you provide me with people and information as I require."

"This seems plausible," City Lord Baschmi nodded and said, "As long as Sir Albion does not ask for too much. Still, what kind of information do you require—if you do not mind me asking so?"

City Lord Baschmi gazed at Albion curiously.

"I'm looking for someone, a traitor who may have entered this world to seek refuge and might have even snuck inside your city. If you can find him for me, it will be much appreciated," Albion stated casually.

"Also, as you know, I am an alchemist. If you have any rare herbs, whether you already possess them in your inventory or procure them from this world, I am willing to buy them at reasonable prices."

"Understood. I think we will be able to get along very well in this field, Sir Albion," City Lord Baschmi extended a handshake.

"Our city just happens to be in dire need of alchemists after being cut off from the other cities back in my homeworld, the Azure Dragon Star Realm."

"Azure Dragon Star Realm?" Albion muttered before he casually commented with amusement, "Must have a lot of dragons there if a casual store sells their meat as common food."

"Well, you're wrong," City Lord Baschmi smiled wryly and said, "The dragons in our lands have an unusually high reproductive rate. Still, I wonder what grade Sir Albion's alchemy has achieved?"

Being an Early-stage Spirit Manifestation Realm Cultivator, only Grade-6 Spirit Pills refined by a Grade-6 Alchemist were beneficial to City Lord Baschmi.

Albion gave the City Lord a casual glance before he calmly said, "I know what you are worried about, but you can rest assured. As long as I have the herbs, any pill can be refined."

Of course, only Albion knew best about what he can and cannot refine. Therefore, city Lord Baschmi can only give Albion the benefit of the doubt and trust his words.

"That's great. If Sir Albion has any pills to sell right now, I am willing to purchase them on the spot," City Lord Baschmi stated.

"Really? Awesome then. I do have some pills I want to get rid of," Albion took out a few black foul-smelling pills and passed them to the City Lord.

"What do you think? How much do you want these pills for?"

"These are… pills?" City Lord Baschmi's lips twitched, followed by his nose twitching in disgust before he said, "I'm going to be frank, Sir Albion. These pills kind of look and smell like... sh*t!

"Despite that, they are good sh*t!" Albion argued dishonestly like a black-hearted businessman.
