I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 248 - City Lord Baschmi

"Oh?"

Being in an unfamiliar yet new environment, Albion did not think there would be someone kind enough to pay for him.

He glanced at the person with interest and uttered, "You are...?"

"L-Lord Baschmi!" the kebab owner exclaimed with shock before crying, "I-I don't dare take your money, my Lord!"

"Since you are acquainted with the city lord, please take it for free!" the kebab store owner stated.

After being slightly surprised by the newcomer's identity, Albion shook his head and said, "That will not do. You obviously have a store to run, and I am a customer. I should pay..."

"N-No! Please, sir. I insist!" the kebab store owner stated firmly.

"Since he has said as such, you should accept his good gesture, friend from outside," City Lord Baschmi said with a friendly smile to Albion.

"By the way, how may I address you?"

"Albion will do."

Nevertheless, with a few words, it became clear to Albion that the City Lord knew that they were not from around the city.

"And I do not like to owe people favors," Albion added with a frown.

After a short ponder, Albion glanced at the kebab store owner before fishing out a red pill and said, "How about I exchange this for the kebabs?"

"This is…?" the kebab store owner glanced at the red pill with doubt.

"A Blood Coagulation Pill," Albion smiled and said, "If I am not wrong, you are in the Innate Realm. This Blood Coagulation Pill will help the formation of your True Force, allowing you to promote a level within the realm."

"You're willing to trade such a precious pill for common food, sir?!" the kebab store owner was shocked before he inquired with surprise, "Are you an alchemist by any chance, sir?!"

At the same time, City Lord Baschmi's eyes flickered with an indiscernible glint.

"I suppose you can say that I am," Albion admitted with a nod, recalling the one time he refined a pill for Polemos should qualify him as an alchemist, albeit not a high-level one.

"But to say that dragon meat is common food… I suppose there are a lot of dragons around…" Albion shortly added before shaking his head, "Well, never mind. Are you willing to accept this exchange or not?"

"This…"

The kebab store owner hesitated and glanced over to City Lord Baschmi for instructions before receiving City Lord's nod of approval.

"Alright, I accept!" the kebab store owner agreed.

"Awesome."

Shortly after completing the trade, Albion kept one kebab for himself before passing the rest to Fenriri, knowing she was a gluttonous little wolf.

"Thank you, Master!" Fenriri accepted graciously before biting into her kebab without delay, causing her eyes to beam in delight shortly after.

Her euphoric mood could be observed from the way her tail wagged under the cloak.

Nevertheless, Albion returned his attention to City Lord Baschmi before casually asking, "For the City Lord to come out and meet me himself, I wonder what the City Lord's intentions are?"

"How about we find somewhere else to talk?" City Lord Baschmi smiled patiently without rushing to answer Albion's question.

"Sure," Albion agreed without much thought.

City Lord Baschmi was slightly surprised that the foreign visitor did not seem to have any hint of apprehension or doubts regarding his request.

Was this foolishness or absolute confidence in one's ability?

Nevertheless, City Lord Baschmi raised his hand and snapped his fingers with an audibly loud click that rang through the bustling city.

A few moments later, a luxuriously advanced transport airship descended from the air to pick them up before the side doors were automatically opened.

"After you, friend," City Lord Baschmi gestured.

"Thanks," Albion nodded before urging the gluttonous wolf-girl, "Come, Fenriri. Don't'get left behind—what the… You already gobbled up half the kebabs?"

Albion's eyes widened with surprise before pulling out a clean handkerchief to wipe the messy stains on Fenriri's mouth.

"Uh…"

After Fenriri checked the reusable plastic bag and noticed half the kebabs had disappeared just as her master asked, Fenriri gave an embarrassed laugh.

"Hehehe… It was so good, I didn't realize how much I've eaten…" Fenriri smiled innocently with a wagging tail.

Sometime later, Albion and Fenriri arrived at the City Lord's office located on the top floor of the centermost and tallest building in the city.

City Lord Baschmi personally poured freshly brewed tea for both Fenriri and Albion before taking a seat opposite them on the couch.

"For a person at the Early-stage Spirit Manifestation Realm with great authority like yourself, you're rather accommodating towards people of unknown origins like us," Albion commented.

City Lord Baschmi's calmness was immediately shaken by Albion's words as he wore a look of shock.

"You can see through my cultivation level?" City Lord Baschmi asked.

To see through his cultivation, the person would have to be stronger than himself unless the person had prior knowledge about him or a unique set of ocular techniques.

However, the person couldn't have prior knowledge, considering the person had just entered the city with no time to snoop around.

"Why is that such a surprise?" Albion asked while casually take a sip of his hot tea.

Fenriri also copied his gesture, but she immediately wanted to cry out loud due to the hot temperature burning her mouth.

However, she forcefully restrained herself as to not interrupt her master's business.

At the same time, City Lord Baschmi opened his mouth before he shook his head with a smile and said, "I suppose that is not important. Actually, I have a favor to ask."

"You might have guessed, but this entire city is not from around this place—or rather this world to be precise. Our city was transported, cutting off both water and energy supplies. Fortunately, ice and wind are aplenty around here. Thus, we manage to get the city back on track in half a day."

"Only half a day? I am impressed by your people's work efficiency," Albion praised before saying, "I should get them to work for me."

City Lord Baschmi smiled wryly without a comment.

Shortly after, City Lord Baschmi said, "So as I was saying, Sir Albion is a local around here, right? I wonder if you can tell me which star realm our city has descended upon, or even better, how'd this all happened?"
