“Great, another trial with a name which includes starving me until the real trial. If what I am thinking is correct, the last trial would definitely be called Blood or something.”

Zack sighed as he read the name of the skill before he decided to look around.

This time, he was in the middle of the forest which made him question the quest name. After all, he was surrounded by numerous trees and all of them had either fruits or berries hanging from them.

Just the last trial, Zack couldn’t open any of the things from Hikari. If things were the same as the first trial, then he would have to literally wait to see the conditions of the trial.

“Guess it’s time to roam around this place.” Zack then started roaming the forest in the same way he had roamed around the desert.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ And just like last time, he appeared on his starting point after twenty minutes. Just to make sure that everything was the same, he went into all four directions and would always end up at his starting point.

‘I guess it’s time to sit down and do nothing.’ The black-haired boy then laid down on the ground while looking at the sun and clouds above him.

Light wind was blowing towards his face which gave him an extremely calming sensation. While relaxing, Zack started to wonder whether he was the only one receiving such a trial or did other players go through similar things.

‘The people in the top 50 of the rankings would have faced a trial at B+ plus rank or above. I wonder if any of them got an S-tier trial.’

While calmly wondering about the trials, Zack started feeling sleepy. In a few minutes, he was lying on the ground with his eyes closed.

He soon fell asleep in such a position and hours passed by in such a manner. Unknown to him, the quest window had opened up in front of him with some modifications.

*Roar!*

“What, who, where?” Zack was startled by the roar as he immediately jumped on his feet and looked around with a wary expression.

*Roar!*

The roar came back once again as the lion jumped in front of him.

The lion had a red-colored mane and its eyes burning with desire. The desire to eat Zack who was standing like a helpless prey in front of it.

Zack’s gulped nervously as the lion looked at him with a hungry look. The black-haired boy knew that if he didn’t do anything soon, he was going to become the lion’s food.

‘When the enemy is too strong, just run away.’ Zack suddenly remembered one of the useful things Ash had told him as he turned around and started running.

The lion realized that its prey was about to run away so it roared once again.

Suddenly, snakes dropped down from the branches of the trees surrounding Zack and hissed at him.

‘The fck, they looked like vines.’ He cursed mentally before rolling below the tree as one of the snakes lunged towards his neck.

Thankfully, it looked as though Zack still had his stats from the game, or else, he would have been long since killed.

The boy didn’t dare to look back to see whether the lion was chasing him or not. After all, his senses told him that it was.

‘Let’s see. What can I find in a forest that will be strong enough to kill a lion?’ Zack looked around to see whether there was anything that he could use against the lion.

Unfortunately, all he saw were snakes hanging off from branches while hissing at him.

‘Wait, there are so many berries here. One of them has to be poisonous.’ Zack remembered reading about berries in his previous life.

Marcus and Jack had asked him to read the book since they believed that it would prove to be useful in certain situations.

“If you ever get stuck in a place where the only available food items are fruits and berries, you will easily be able to identify which ones are poisonous while which are not.”

Looking back on that, Zack wondered whether he should have taken Marcus’s words seriously or not.

‘Come on brain, remember at least one thing. One of these berries definitely have to be poisonous.’ Before Zack could look at the berries past the snakes, he felt the hair on his neck stood up.

Instinctively, he jumped to the right site as a fireball went past the place he had been running in moments ago.

‘The lion just had to be a fire lion. Great, just great.’ Zack and the lion exchanged a look for a few minutes before the latter stood up and started running again.

This time, Zack started running in a zig-zag pattern so that he wouldn’t get hit by the incoming fireballs.

*Roar!*

But when he heard another roar, he immediately stopped in his place.

In front of him were five grinning monkeys who were jumping in their places. Somehow, each of them had a knife in their hands which they were tossing in the air and catching.

If what Zack thought was correct, he was soon about to be stabbed by one such knife.

‘A lion at my back, five knife-throwing monkeys in front, and an army of snakes hanging from branches. I will take my chances with the snake.’

Zack broke into a sprint in the right direction as he jumped from his spot and grabbed the body of a snake.

Before he could fall on the ground alongside the snake, he swung forward and grabbed another snake’s body.

He continued this process and somehow managed to escape.

Though for how long, he didn’t know.
