Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

142 Let There Be Chaos

“First thing we are going to do is to open the news channel and see what is happening.” Zack had a nagging feeling that something was wrong and that it had something to do with Oracroft.

‘Could they be planning something?’ Zack then saw the projector in front of him showing America’s biggest news channel DTF news.

“This is a completely unprepared broadcast so we will be using AI for it.” A voice spoke before the entire screen suddenly changed to the white house.

The building was on fire and was cracked. Helicopters flew around the building with blue lights pointed toward it.

‘I was right…’ Zack could already guess what was about to happen as a flag was suddenly planted on top of the building.

The flag had a half orange with two square pieces stuck in it as the symbol. That was the new logo of Oracroft which meant that they had just taken over the entire place.

The president was most likely dead which meant that the government had already fallen down. Though the number of game-breaking skills was less, skill creation changed that.

Using your elements or weapons in a particular way would lead to the creation of a skill that only you could use and even distribute.

Originally, this had been introduced much later on yet Zack had been able to create more skills while fighting the undead army.

The reason was quite simple. He had gotten another vision moments before the fight had started. In it, he had seen six or so months in the future where the entire Earth had changed.

Numerous kinds of skills were flying around and both Hikari and the real world had become a walking war zone.

Inside the game, the factions had started getting more brutal and the same was true for the real world. Yet there was one new thing that had sent chills down Zack’s spine.

It was the remodeling of the dying thing inside the game. When a player died in the game, their progress would not be reset.

Instead, a part of their soul would be chipped away meaning that after dying a few times in the game, a player would die in real life too.

Hunger, exhaustion, and other real-world things had also been implemented into the game. Zack had seen all of this in an article that had been pinned on the forums meaning that the game developers were still there and not hijacked or hacked.

Zack then closed the news channel immediately and instead turned towards Eva.

“Can you use one of your satellites to pinpoint the Hikari tower?”

“Give me a few seconds.” Emma retreated to a corner of the room and rummaged around in her phone watch. From there, she connected one of her satellites with the projectors in the room and searched the tower’s location.

All that appeared in the projection was barren land. It was as though the entire thing had vanished in a matter of seconds.

Not only Eva but all of those present in the room were shocked by this. Zack sighed at this as he had already seen the same thing happen.

“The tower has vanished to never appear again.” He said in a firm voice. “And if we don’t want to follow it, we should all start building our defenses.”

“So now, what are we going to do?”

“Just be patient Will. We managed to infiltrate this place thanks to the heads up we received.”

“And now we are stuck. Your the one who is supposed to think ahead Warma.”

The CEOs of Oracroft were currently standing in the President’s room while the president lay dead at their feet.

An hour before midnight, they had received a message telling them about the future and asking them to assassinate the president.

Will and Warma had thought that someone was playing with them yet they had still proceeded. They had been thinking of eliminating the president and taking full control for a long time yet the formidable military power had stopped them from doing so.

This time, they had brought their own military and the top-level players they had, including Ninja and a few others.

Their initial target had been Lazy Panda yet the player had somehow managed to stay hidden the entire time. Even those playing the game didn’t know if they had seen him.

Despite that, they had easily defeated the entire force protecting the president and had managed to kill him.

“Now we can enjoy more and-” Will, the former CEO of Miscosoft began saying before his mouth suddenly closed up.

Warma felt the same thing happening to him as he looked around to see the President’s body burning in pure black flames. A moment later, a black circle appeared beside the body.

“Well done humans. Now with this, I have managed to eliminate everything. All that has happened in the past will not be repeated. That foolish Kai no longer has his lance and Odin has long since been taken care of. It’s time for me to shine now.”

A voice echoed through the room as the two humans suddenly screamed. Their eyes started glowing black in color before and a few seconds later, their bodies went limp.

“Let there be chaos. Kekeke.” The same voice cackled as the circle vanished.

Back at Eva’s home, all of them had gone back to their room on Zack’s order and asked to sleep. All of them except for Eva who had wanted to discuss something with him.

“Zack, show me that lance again.” Eva suddenly said in a firm voice as the two of them stood in her bedroom.

Thought calling it her bedroom was an overstatement. It could have just been one of the other rooms in the mansion since the only personalization Eva had done were her clothes and the cat-themed sheets.

“You still remember Gugnir huh.” Zack sighed before raising his right hand and summoning the lance once again.

The blue lance gleamed in his hands as Eva’s eyes stared at it with curiosity. She raised her right hand forward but when her hand was a few inches away from touching it, a force field knocked her hand back.

Both Zack and Emma were surprised by this and tried to see it again. Every time Eva would get closer to the lance, a forcefield would knock her back.

After a few minutes of trying this, they gave up. Zack instead decided to tell Emma about his new security measures.

“Start having players as your bodyguards and security face since almost your entire team will be useless now. Furthermore, don’t keep the trusted players too far away from your house.

Money matters a whole lot now since you would have to buy a whole lot of help. Thankfully, we can ask Hayden for that. If we can make contracts as we do in Hikari, then that’s even better. You can secure their loyalty this way.”

After that, Zack explained everything in detailed to her before bidding her farewell. He then went back to his room knowing well that he wasn’t going to get any sleep.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ ‘But this will change things.’ Zack thought with a poker face as he looked at his phone watch. He had taken the video of Puten’s confessions from Hayden and asked whether he could use it.

The ruler of the underworld had said yes and now, Zack was going to use the clip.

“I wonder how the world will react when they know about this.”
