Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

114 Alone In The Building [Part 1]

“What do you think we are?” Zack asked back as the short man looked confused.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ “A couple?”

“Then we are not a couple.”

“Eh?”

“Sometimes, what you think is real is fake and the opposite of that thing is real.” After imparting some words of wisdom, Zack looked at the new item he had just received.

It was a wooden basket with a hanger to hold it. The basket, however, was empty.

[ Dumplings Basket: Produces a dumpling every hour which is stored in an infinite inventory.

– Creates a special Beast Taming dumpling every 48 hours. ]

‘A beast taming dumpling huh. The reward is actually much better than I thought.’

For Zack, A beast taming dumpling would be of more help than a weapon. He already had powerful weapons with locked features which he would have to unlock.

If he had gotten another powerful weapon, he would have just sighed and passed it on to someone else.

“Lisa, your methods of getting here were quite effective.” Emma suddenly commented as the blond girl smiled and nodded.

“I can teach you a few tricks as well if you want to learn.”

“Mm, I will see.”

Both Lisa and Emma knew that they shouldn’t talk about Lisa’s tactics in public. That’s why Emma had just complimented Lisa without asking for any details.

The short-haired man as well as the other winners started thinking about whether Lisa and Emma were friends or not.

‘I wonder how Lisa can use those tactics so easily, that too with a smile.’ All Zack knew about Lisa’s background was the public information available on all players.

“Good job guys, see you later.” Johnny suddenly remembered that the winners were still standing in their places.

With a wave of his hand, all of them disappeared and went back to the places where they had joined the event from.

‘Now, it’s time to analyze all the data we managed to gather. This event helped a lot and so should the guild one.’ Johnny thought with a smile as he remembered that the guild mode was going to start soon.

He decided to push it to a day away before leaving the field.

After all, he had a lot of data to go through.

“Let’s log out. I want to do something in the real world.” Emma suddenly said as she and Zack exited the game.

Waking up in the room, they saw that Mia had already left.

Currently, the entire room was empty which was surprising. The duo left the room and moved towards Eva’s office.

However, the office was empty.

“I wonder what the time is…” Zack muttered as he saw that the entire sky was dark outside.

Currently, the time was 12:47. The entire building was mostly empty which meant that Emma and Zack were there alone.

“What did you want to check?” He asked while looking at Emma.

The latter was scrolling through her phone watch while trying to find something.

“Oracroft has already made 50 million dollars due to their information stealing while they have managed to hire a ton of new players. I am trying to see what the exact number is.”

She replied while she kept on scrolling. Zack on the other hand decided to look for something to eat.

Even though he had food and water pills in his inventory, he pretended to look around for food since he couldn’t just take them out in front of Emma.

The duo had spent days inside the game and had taken two pills before diving in.

However, their bodies still required a lot of nutrition. After looking around for a few minutes, he took out 4 orange food pills and 2 blue water pills.

“Well, this is all that I could find,” Zack said after returning to the office and handing three pills to Emma.

After they had eaten, Emma stared out of the office with a sigh before an idea suddenly appeared in her mind.

“Zack, do you think that Eva has some secret room here too?”

“Maybe or maybe not. We can try looking.” Zack shrugged as he saw Emma looking around the entire room.

They had to make sure that Eva didn’t find anything messed up when she would arrive in the morning.

Emma then started touching random objects in the room however nothing happened.

“In the movies, a secret room is usually activated by a book or something,” Emma muttered while touching and lifting the books in Eva’s room.

“And Eva knows that too so if she’ll have a secret entrance, it’ll either be linked to her computer or…” Zack trailed off as he noticed a particular poster in the distance.

It was of a game that had come out almost fifty years ago in 2022. A game that looked very old school to him.

“I’ll bet you 10 gold coins that it’s behind that poster,” Zack added as Emma went near the poster and slowly lifted it.

Behind the poster was a red button. As soon as she pressed it, the entire section of the wall retracted back and opened up to another room.

The two of them immediately stepped inside the room as the wall returned to normal and the poster automatically got stuck to the wall.

“Now this is a secret room…” Emma muttered while looking around the room.

It had three huge beds with different types of mattresses. The room was surrounded by white tiled walls with a blue pattern on them.

“Hmm, play some music.” Zack suddenly said as music from Hikari started playing in the room.

He ran a few more tests before he was certain the entire room was powered by sound.

“Tell us about the three beds,” Emma asked as she too wanted to test the voice control.

“The mattress on the left is for those experiencing physical pain. The one on the right is for those experiencing mental pain like depression. The one in the middle is for… personal reasons.”

An automated reply was heard as Zack and Emma exchanged a look.

Zack immediately walked up to the bed on the right and sat on it before giving Emma a look.

The pink-haired woman sighed before closing the bed on the left and giving Zack a look.

“So, what do we do now?”
