“Don’t tell me those two idiots actually did it!” Evangeline immediately stood up from her chair while looking at the message on her computer.
She had been casually scrolling through the web while checking the news.
She had already known that the VR pods were rigged and had even demanded that they were checked.
But despite thorough checking, nothing wrong had been founded with them. This made her wonder whether it was a bluff.
But after the breaking news and the actual release of information of random people, Eva knew that it was the truth.
Moments later, a satellite told her that a nuke was coming towards the Doogle mansions. Eva’s jaw was slightly opened as she realized that the two CEOs had done it.
But in reality, she wasn’t worried about the nukes. After WW3, the creation of nukes had been completely stopped and only a single country had refused to obey these orders.
The country was North Rokea however, the entire world had neutralized it before the county could do anything.
After that, their nukes had been destroyed or so the world thought. In secret, they were sold to high bidders which included Orange, Miscosoft, Telsa, and Doogle.
After studying the mechanics, they had tried to make an advance in the field but their scientists had refused to do so.
At that time, Eva wasn’t the CEO so she hadn’t known about it. Her dad had almost succeeded in creating a new category of nukes by forcing the scientists.
However, he had died of a heart attack before that and she had become the CEO.
Eva had then banned the entire project and has gotten high praises from the scientists.
They still worked at Doogle but on a different project.
Emma knew that the other three companies might use the nukes against her and no one would be able to stop them.
So instead, she had contacted Ray and together with him, they had created a technology to prevent nukes from falling on the place.
‘But we have never tested it. If it fails, everything goes down…’ Eva started strolling around the room in panic as Ray suddenly called her.
“We are doomed.”
“No, we are boomed, not yet though.”
“Don’t make bad jokes at such moments Eva…”
“You know it as well I do Ray, I make jokes when I am terrified or anxious. Go activate that thing while I do the same.”
The duo then cut off the call as Eva immediately ordered the particular pair of scientists to activate the shield that would supposedly protect them.
They more or less understood what was happening as they hurriedly activated the shield.
However, Eva was more worried about the trio than herself and the people in the building. After all, the shield was strong enough to reduce the effects of the nuke to a mere grenade blast.
The building was strong enough to withstand that.
[ Emma, Zack, and Mia, I don’t care what you are doing. Immediately drop it and come meet me. We are about to be nuked. ]
After posting the message, Eva realized that the trio were actually back at the Doogle mansions.
And after that, she realized that the bombs were dropping at both places and only the building had the shield.
[ Actually, scratch that. You are the ones about to be nuked so you guys run to my mansion and take a jet out of there… ]
After posting the message, Eva realized that by the time they would get to her house, disaster would have stuck.
Eva then started wondering what she should do. She sat down on the chair before sighing. In the past few months, she had allowed herself to get close to people.

When Zack and Emma saw the message, they simultaneously pinched each other’s cheeks.
They soon felt the pain creaking up which meant that it was real.
‘So, we about to die?”
“Probably in a few mins.”
“I’ll go eat something then.” Emma’s body was lightly trembling yet she managed to leave the room.
Zack on the other hand was extremely calm for someone who was about to be nuked. As for Mia, she was soundly sleeping in her room.
‘I can either call on the Phoenix to take all of us away or call Kai.’ After debating it for a long time, which was 1 minute, Zack decided he would call on the Phoenix.
He immediately dashed towards the top of the house and summoned Chastiefol.
“Spirit Spear Chastiefol, Seventh Form, Guardian.” He then waited for the spear to vanish and the bright orange Phoenix to appear.
However, a system notification window appeared in front of him.

“Couldn’t you have chosen a better time to do this?!” Zack then cursed loudly before looking up at the sky.
As though the world slowed down for him, Zack could see a black-colored missile the size of four wooden bats coming in his direction.
Many thoughts instantly passed through his mind as he wondered what was going to happen in a few seconds when the missile would touch the ground and the entire place would burn.
‘Even regression can’t save me from this…’ Never could have Zack thought that he would go down with a bang, a literal one at that.
But staring at the incoming doom, he wondered what else he couldn’t have expected.
‘I should have said goodbye to Mia…’ Zack wondered whether his sister was even aware of what was happening.
However, moments before the nuke touched, a blue lance appeared out of Zack’s shadow and floated behind him.
The tip of the lance started glowing before it tilted down automatically and touched Zack’s back.
