Hidden Wife : Best Husband

Chapter 162 - 162 - Resignation Letter

"Sorry," Jean said as she looked away. Her face flushed with embarrassment.

"Why is my brother's table so messy?" Park Soo Hyun asked.

"When I walked in ... it was already a mess," Jean said. Actually she wanted to say that there was Manager Han inside but she was afraid to say the wrong thing. It was better if she met Soo Yin later she wanted to ask her to find out.

"Okay, let me help," Park Soo Hyun said as he picked up some papers scattered on the floor.

"No, sir." Now Jean crouched down and hurriedly grabbed the same paper as Park Soo Hyun until they were holding the same paper. Unconsciously the envelope he was holding fell but Jean didn't realize it.

They face each other for a moment. There was a feeling of happiness and flutter that Jean felt right now. Jean immediately lowered her gaze.

"What is this?" Park Soo Hyun grabbed a brown envelope that Jean had dropped.

Jean's eyes widened to see that her resignation letter was in Park Soo Hyun's hands.

"Sir, don't open it!" Jean exclaimed with cold sweat starting to trickle down het forehead. She hoped that Park Soo Hyun wouldn't open it.

Park Soo Hyun didn't listen to Jean who told him not to. He immediately tore the envelope out of curiosity about its contents. Park Soo Hyun started reading it with furrowed brows.

"Jean, what do you mean by this letter?" Park Soo Hyun looked at Jean while showing the letter.

"I… I want to stop working at this hotel," Jean said softly and her tongue felt heavy when she said it. She surrendered if Park Soo Hyun would fire her right now.

"Why?" Park Soo Hyun asked, who was curious.

"I ... i …." Jean could not reveal the real reason because the main reason still had something to do with the man.

"Jean, please don't stop working. Are the salaries at this hotel so low that you want to quit? I'll raise your pay right now if that's the reason." Park Soo Hyun took Jean's hand and then held it.

Jean shook her head slowly while lowering her gaze. Even though she only worked as a janitor, her salary at this hotel was quite high. What's more, sometimes hotel guests often gave her more money. It was enough to live for a month with her mother.

"Then, why do you want to stop?" Park Soo Hyun asked once again.

'It's because my feelings are so unnatural that I love a prince like you,' Jean said to herself because she could not possibly dare to reveal the truth. She stared at Park Soo Hyun's face for a few seconds before finally turning her gaze in another direction.

"Jean, keep working at this hotel," Park Soo Hyun said as he looked into Jean's eyes expectantly. If Jean left, it will be difficult for him to find information about Soo Yin from him because he still really needed Jean about it.

Jean's heart seemed to burst at this time. There was a sense of excitement that she wanted to jump because Park Soo Hyun forbade her to resign. But she can guess if Park Soo Hyun forbade her because it must still have something to do with Soo Yin.

Jean finally nodded her head. Even though her heart might hurt more but she will try to hold on for some time at least until she finds a new job.

"Good girl." Park Soo Hyun patted Jean's shoulder lightly then asked her to stand up. He put a smile on his lips.

Jean just replied with a faint smile.

Park Soo Hyun helped Jean tidy up his brother's desk because when he was done he wanted to ask her for help.

Jean didn't allow Park Soo Hyun to help her because it was her job. She felt bad if a man as handsome as Park Soo Hyun helped her work.

Park Soo Hyun obeyed Jean's words so he sat on the sofa reading the newspaper. Actually he wanted to go back to his room but before telling his intention to Jean, his heart didn't feel right because only Jean could help him.

After thirty minutes Jean finished her assignment.

"Excuse me, sir," Jean said to Park Soo Hyun.

"Are you finished?" Park Soo Hyun asked as he looked away from the newspaper.

"Yes," Jean said briefly while looking down. She didn't dare look at Park Soo Hyun's face.

"Have you had breakfast? I want to have breakfast, but I don't have the appetite to eat alone," Park Soo Hyun said. At home earlier he had not had the appetite for breakfast.

 "I ... i …."

"Let's have breakfast together," Park Soo Hyun said while folding the newspaper and then putting it back on the table. He immediately rose from his seat.

"But, sir," Jean said, wanting to refuse the man's invitation.

"Yes, let's have breakfast at the restaurant in this hotel," Park Soo Hyun said, who immediately grabbed Jean's wrist to follow his steps.

Jean continued to look at their interlocked hands. There was a feeling of pounding and sadness in her heart.

Park Soo Hyun continued to hold Jean's wrist until it was in front of the door. Jean tugged at her wrist because she didn't want the other workers to see it. She would have gotten a lot of trouble from the women who worked at the hotel if they saw herself and Park Soo Hyun holding hands.

Park Soo Hyun was the idol of the many female employees who were there. They were blown away by the man's friendliness and good looks.

Ten minutes later Jean and Park Soo Hyun were at the restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant was intended for in-house guests.

The design was very luxurious with a crystal chandelier hanging from it. This was the first time Jean went there because the workers who worked at the hotel were different from those who worked in the restaurant.

"Jean, let's just sit there," Park Soo Hyun asked while pointing at one of the tables on the side.

Jean continued to follow Park Soo Hyun's steps as she looked around.
