Chapter 641 The Unintended Consequence

Chapter 641 The Unintended Consequence

The battle in the prince’s hall was reaching its end.

Drip! Drop! Drip!

The first member of Charles’ team clutched his right arm as he gulped a potion. His twisted arm shook for a second as if trying to regain its previous position, but the injury was way too serious to be healed so quickly.

‘At least ten minutes before my arm becomes usable.’ He gritted his teeth and retrieved a whip from his storage ring.

With a scowl, he whipped at the bloodied figure a few feet away.

Whiish!

The whip sliced through the air like a knife cutting through butter and reached the target in the blink of an eye.

Enigma stood, heavily injured and exhausted. But her eyes still shone with the same coldness they had at the beginning of the battle.

Besides, her position wasn’t as bad as it seemed.

Because…

Whooosh!

Using her gravity power, Enigma made the front section of the whip be ‘attracted’ towards the owner.

The whip shook violently before slashing at its owner.

Boom!

“Arghh!”

Of course, if that person maintained the same powers as in the beginning, it’d have been very difficult to do this.

But since he was worn out after the battle, Enigma was able to accomplish this.

“F-Fuck!” The first member clutched his newly injured arm and grimaced. Even though the injury wasn’t very deep, being repelled so easily hurt his pride.

‘Young Master…’ the man turned his gaze to look at Charles standing at the back.

The white wolf had multiple injuries, ranging from small cuts to large slashes all over its body.

When the battle began, Lykos’ eyes were full of confidence.

“Enigma, you are no Varian. I’ll crush you and regain my honor.”

Charles said those words with such conviction that the blood of his three teammates boiled with anticipation.

This fight would wash away all the sham—

Boom!

Enigma swiped her hand mid-air and the giant white wolf was thrown into the distance like a ragdoll.

“Roaa!” Charles roared in anger but failed to even appear majestic.

Rather than a dragon declaring its intent for war, he seemed more like a beaten dog barking in protest.

In the end, his three teammates shook their heads and focused on the devil of a woman.

“Alien bitch. She lived for 500 years. Why did we think she’ll be normal?” The second member of the team spat.

Hearing those venomous words, Enigma replied in a cold voice. “If I care for every barking dog, then even my five hundred years won’t be enough.”

Whiish!

Following those words, she slashed her sword to her left.

The third member appeared in that position, trying to ambush her.

All he got was a black sword aura that hit him in the chest and sent him flying. The man managed to land on his feet.

His chest had a three-centimeter deep wound. Considering that he faced her sword attack head-on, this much damage was commendable.

‘My space armor…even it can’t completely block her attack.’

The third member sighed in his heart as he grouped next to the first and second.

Charles wanted to group with them but Enigma merely looked at him.

“Greaaah!”

A deep pain assaulted his brain and Charles immediately screamed. His eyes turned bloodshot and veins popped up on his forehead.

“Y-You…B-Bitch!” Charles’ growled in desperate pain.

Hearing his painful tone, his team members gritted their teeth and shot toward Enigma.

The first member threw a spear at her. The second member showered her in lightning. The third member froze the space around her hands.

Facing these heavy attacks, Enigma snorted and stopped using her mental power to torment Charles. Though by now, he already lived through the most painful memory—his aunt’s death over a dozen times by now.

Enigma’s cold eyes swept over Charles for a moment and an invisible force struck the white wolf.

Boom!

Like it received a kick in the abdomen, the wolf was blown into the air and flew in a parabola before crashing down.

“Young Master!”

Charles fell at the edge of the stage. Near the throne. His teammates panicked.

“Roo…” Charles struggled to get up but failed. After multiple tries, he lay on the ground with vacant eyes.

The majestic throne was reflected in his eyes, but it didn’t register in his mind.

‘Varian then, Enigma now…why?’

Only he was in the luxury to think.

Everyone else focused to their limit and attacked.

Whooosh! Booom!

It all happened in a flash.

Without even Enigma moving, a dark aura appeared out of her body and formed the shape of a sword.

Then, it shot toward the first member who was throwing a spear.

The lightning which was about to drown her was forcibly blocked by an air wall that was created by making the air attracted to each other, which ended up forming an incredible defense.

The blocked space around her arms loosened as the third member of the team clutched his hair with bleeding eyes.

“Arghhh! St-Stop!”

As she neutralized the attacks, Enigma’s figure blurred and she jumped high into the air.

Then, with a simple slash of her sword, a blanket of darkness covered the three members.

Booom!

When the darkness faded, only bones were left.

Enigma half-kneeled as she panted heavily. Beads of sweat trickled down her forehead and blood leaked from the corner of her lips.

…Even though she had an edge over them all the time, it wasn’t easy to win.

After all, the members Charles picked himself weren’t weak by any means and had excellent synergy.

‘But it’s all over now…’ Enigma pushed her aching feet and stood up.

She slowly walked to Charles with unsteady steps.

Charles looked at her with hateful eyes while he tried to get up.

He almost got up before falling back to his feet.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

As Enigma approached him, he tried again and again.

When he finally got back onto his four feet, Enigma was just a few meters away from him.

Charles’ eyes met Enigma’s tri-color eyes and despair filled his being.

Without a shred of sympathy, Enigma raised her hand. “I’ll chop off your limbs and plan the torture session later.”

Charles’ eyes trembled violently and he put all his strength in his legs in an effort to jump away to escape when—

Booom!

It was just for a split second, but the world seemed to have stood still as something fundamentally was broken.

Enigma instinctively slashed at Charles and Charles, having put all his energy into his feet, but still in a terrible state, jumped.

Whoosh!

Enigma’s attack was still faster and slapped him in the chest.

Since he was in mid-air, Charles was thrown backward. The attack cut him so deep that Charles’ wolf form finally came off.

In the blink of an eye, he crashed onto the throne.

“What?!” Enigma’s eyes widened in shock and she hurriedly raised her hand.

No one should be able to reach the throne except for the last person standing.

The two of them weren’t eliminated, so how…

Only then did Enigma realize the strangeness.

‘My level…’

It was back to level 8.

Some sort of restriction here was lifted.

Enigma wasn’t certain what was happening, but she didn’t have the luxury to ponder.

She quickly kicked the ground and rushed to Charles when—

Boom!

The restriction came into effect once again and Enigma, who was jumping to the throne, was repelled.

At the same time, Charles, on the throne, was also thrown toward the stage. But when he was being thrown, he instinctively grabbed for something and ended up holding the cup.

As he flew towards the stage, a cool sensation spread through his body from the cup, and Charles’ foggy mind cleared up in an instant.

Just before he crashed onto the ground, he drank the last drop in the cup.

Boom!

Charles’ aura quickly surpassed level 8 but was suppressed by the restriction.

Enigma gritted her teeth as she looked up.

A fully healed Charles Xander walked toward her.

His aura was at the very peak of level 7.
