Child of Destiny

Chapter 513 - The Price Of Betrayal

...

The fleeing members of the Center Order were currently hiding in the forest not too far from the Ancient Ruins. They couldn't teleport directly to their main Kingdom since they needed to use the Teleportation Hall of a City.

Unfortunately, they couldn't enter any City for now since they all knew that the members of the Undying Guild were currently keeping an eye on all Teleportation Halls of every City.

And there were only two ways for them to leave this place given their current situations. One was to scatter around the whole Blind Abyss Empire before entering those Teleportation Halls separately.

Meanwhile, the second way was to create their own Teleportation Formation to leave this place. And fortunately, they were already prepared for the worst cases scenario.

At this point in time, all of the Advance Architects and Magical Engineers that the Central Order had brought in this place were currently busy creating that formation.

Originally, they were planning to use these people to create a Teleportation Formation in the Ancient Ruins if they managed to take over that place.

Unfortunately, not everything was going according to plan.

...

At the same time, the trio of Shin, Arthur, and Leonard was currently tracking down the surviving members of the Central Order as Chaotic Luck was closely following them.

"These guys sure know how to be cautious. Scattering around while fleeing? Heh! I guess the Undying Guild really scares them," sneered Arthur while surveying the surroundings.

"I'm pretty sure that they are going to win that fight earlier since all of the top experts of the Undying Guild are pretty much occupied with us, so I wonder how they suffered defeat instead?" said Shin as he stared at the footmarks on the ground before following that trail with his gaze.

Hearing that, Leonard immediately answered his question. "Is there even a need to think about it? I'm pretty sure that Haowin and his gang helped the Undying Guild to snatch that win away from the Central Order's hands."

At the same time, Arthur started laughing out loud as he couldn't help but imagine what happened in the cave where the Superior Mana Vein was located. "I really love to see the expression that those guys are making when they see how 'clean' that place is."

After that, Shin stood up from his crouching position before saying to the three. "Let's go, I found their traces."

Hearing that, the other two immediately stood up and stretched their waist before following after Shin while Chaotic Luck followed behind them silently.

"Sigh~, this is going to be much easier if only we have a good pathfinder on our team. The Archers' tracking skills and Thieves' tracing techniques are perfect in these kinds of situations," muttered Arthur as they followed along the path of the footprints that Shin saw earlier.

"Take it easy. We will find a skill pathfinder for our team later. A skilled tracker is not like a cabbage that can grow anywhere, so be patient," said Leonard chucklingly.

Not long after, the group arrived on an edge of a cliff where they could clearly see the surviving members of the Central Order regrouping up.

"Oh~! These guys really have some talent for survival. To think that they still have a lot of players that survive when those lunatics from the Demonic Churches are coming after them?" said Arthur while looking down at those players with a grinning look on his face.

"So, when are we going to make our moves?" asked Leonard who couldn't hide his excitement for slaughtering the members of the Central Order.

Shin stared at the group for quite some time before replying. "Let's wait for a little more. It is best to spoil the fun of the other side when they are about to achieve the most exciting part."

After that, he moved away from the edge of the cliff before asking the two. "Where are the vials that I asked earlier?"

Hearing that, Arthur couldn't help but click his tongue before saying to Shin. "You're really such an evil guy. To think that you are able to see this far? You really are a scary one when you start planning these kinds of schemes."

Meanwhile, Leonard took out three vials from his inventory bag before dividing them among themselves. "These high-grade disguising potions cost a lot of gold, alright? So, make sure you pay me later."

"Tsk! You are still stingy as ever. You already accumulated a lot of gold after all this time, yet you are unwilling to spend a very small portion of it?" said Shin sneeringly.

After that, he turned his head towards Chaotic Luck before saying. "We are originally going to disguise as undead monsters summoned by the members of the Undying Guild, can you also do it for your undead summonses?"

Hearing that, Chaotic Luck thought for a moment before releasing a helpless sigh and smiling bitterly. "I'm afraid I can't.  It is not going to be a problem if I don't have a mutated class and race, but it is not possible right now."

Shin knitted his eyebrows for a moment after hearing and was about to drop that idea. But before he could put that thought at the back of his head, Solus suddenly broke away from the circling specks of lights around Shin before taking her humanoid appearance.

"Then let me take that power away from you for a moment," she said right after taking that form.

Chaotic Luck was not surprised at her sudden appearance since he already saw her earlier at the hall within the Ancient Ruins. But it was a little different for Arthur and Leonard.

Those two were aware that Shin got a new Elemental Spirit earlier but they were not expecting that it was such a beauty.

"D*mn! Such a lucky b*st*rd!" muttered Arthur when he saw Solus' perfect figure.

Whistle~ ♪

After that, Arthur walked towards Shin and stood on his side before patting the latter's shoulder. "You better now show her to Cloe, or else you're dead."

Hearing that, Shin looked at Arthur with a knitted brow, showing that he couldn't fully understand the latter's words.

But if every Shin knew what his brother was implying then he would probably say. – "Then what would happen to me if she also saw Blackie in her Human form?" –

Meanwhile, Solus waved her hand casually and took away the blessings that she gave to Chaotic Luck. And due to that the latter immediately went back to being a player with Demon Race as his class became a Demonic Lich once again.

Seeing Chaotic Luck's sudden change of appearance, the three immediately nodded their heads before simultaneously wearing a huge grin.

"Now, let's give those guys a free ticket to their respective respawn points," thought the three while having an evil look on their faces.

Meanwhile, the Engineers and Architects of the Central Order were about to finish building the Teleportation Formation.

"Sir! The Teleportation Formation was about to be ready," reported a member of the guild to Legolas who was currently resting under a nearby tree.

Hearing that, he immediately stood up and quickly ordered. "Tell everyone to be ready. We are heading out now."

Receiving his order, the subordinate immediately gave him a bow before excusing himself.

On the other hand, Aragon was still sitting lazily underneath a tree shade not far from him.

"Look at what Elrond had done. If only we didn't break the contract, then we should be the ones who emerged victorious in this war!" cursed Legolas while turning his head towards his friend.

Aragorn just shrugged his shoulders despite hearing the tone of his friend. "There is no point crying over spilled milk. We can't do anything about that anymore. What's more, none of us is expecting that the Nameless Swordsman is being backed by that trio; especially that pair of monsters."

"I told them that the Nameless Swordsman is not simple as he seems," added Legolas.

Hearing that, Aragorn became a little annoyed and said, "As I said, there is no-…"

But before he could even complete his words, he suddenly sensed a sudden change in the atmosphere surrounding them.

"We are surrounded," said Legolas with a solemn tone.

"How come these guys manage to track us this far?" nodded Aragon while wearing a heavy look on his face.

They never felt anything strange since the moment they arrived in this place so it was quite a surprise for them when they sensed the large number of enemies surrounding them.

Then the undead monsters hiding from the shade of the trees started revealing themselves one by one. And naturally, the members of the Central Order immediately assumed a defensive formation, getting ready for battle.

"Godd*mn it! These guys sure are persistent," said Aragorn while unsheathing his sword.

"More like determined to wipe us out," refuted Legolas as he was loading an arrow on his bow.

And while they were preparing themselves for battle, the two surviving commanders of the Central Order suddenly noticed a couple of powerful presences mixed among the group of undead monsters.

Casting their gazes towards the directions of those dangerous auras, the two immediately saw three strange Undead Monsters from different locations who were staring back at them hungrily.
