Child of Destiny

Chapter 321 - The Nameless Swordsman Against The Beastmaster

...…

Boom!

The battle between Shin and Akailu was becoming more and more intense as the time went by. And even if these two players were not actually fighting personally, their summons alone were more than enough for the all of the audience to enjoy spectating the battle.

Whitie and the Black Bear were wrestling like a pair of typical beasts battling for supremacy in the forest. But their battle was a more intelligent battle than the ordinary beast fights; each swipe of their claws and each dodged that were making was a calculated move as if they were intelligent humans.

Meanwhile, the battles that Shin's clones had were much more intense than this beast battle.

The Sun clone was taking the giant wolf in a head-on battle. And even if his size was too small compared to the giant wolf, he was still able to hold himself against the huge beast. In fact, he seemed to be at a great disadvantage since the giant wolf was being forced to take a couple of steps backwards every time its claws clashed with the clones blazing sword.

The Sun Clone had a special ability that enhanced its own strength. So, it was natural for this clone to have a high physical prowess given that Shin had high strength stats.

At the same time, the power of the Black Sun that the Sun Clone possessed greatly countered the ice powers of the giant wolf.

What's more, the Sun Clone was utilizing the terrains that were surrounding them. He kept on hiding behind a tree whenever the giant wolf managed to find an advantageous situation. Sometimes, the clone was even jumping from a tree branch to another, making the monster to be placed in an even more disadvantageous situation.

One the other hand, the giant tiger with flame elemental powers, was in a much worse situation compared to this giant wolf.

Don't get fooled by the size of this giant tiger. Because despite it having a huge body that was seemingly meant for having strong physical strength, this tiger was actually a magic-focused monster beast.

Unfortunately for this monster pet, the Moon Clone also had a bunch of magic-focused abilities. He even enhanced Shin's ice-relegated skills similar to what the Sun Clone was doing.

At the same time, the power of the Silver Moon was on a much higher level of elemental powers compared to the flame elemental powers that this giant tiger had. So, it was natural for the tiger to get overwhelmed in terms of magical exchange.

The only advance that this tiger had was the seemingly inexhaustible barrage of attacks. Unlike the Moon Clone who needed to wait for the cooldown of his skills to use them once again, this giant tiger seemed not to run out of flame skills that it could throw.

Unfortunately, the Moon Clone had the 'Moonlight Steps' that seemed to be always up every time he was forced in a corner. What's more, the clone also had the 'Sword Rush' from Shin's skill set, so catching him became an even more troublesome matter.

And what made matter even worse for the giant tiger was the Movement Combat Techniques from Shin's arsenal. If the movement skills that the Moon Clone made him hard to catch, then these combat techniques made him look like a ghost that was seemingly impossible to capture.

So, despite the giant tiger throwing a lot of fire elemental skills all the time, it was still ineffective against the Moon Clone. In fact, the monster pet even became a living target for the clone to his skills.

All of these signified the difference between Shin and Akailu in terms of controlling their summons.

The former was controlling his clones manually as if he was moving them like his own body. So, he was able to do some complex maneuvers to deal with some specific situations.

On the other hand, the Akailu was only giving out some orders for his monster pets to execute. Due to that, there was some split-second of delay before his pets could put his orders in action.

And even if the battle between Whitie and the Black Bear was currently in a deadlock, it was still pretty easy to tell that Akailu was at a great disadvantage given that the other two battlefields were not in his favor.

Akailu was currently squinting his eyes as he looked at the ongoing battles. "I am already aware that he has a good control over his clones, but I still don't expect that it is going to be on this level,"

Then he started frowning his brows before muttering to himself. "I thought these pets are enough to handle him. After all, they were already some special summons. But from the looks of it, I am still wrong at taking that assumption."

After that, he suddenly shook his head before continuing. "I am not expecting that I am going to reveal this summon this early, but I guess I really have no other choice."

Right after saying those words, he waved his right hand and summoned another monster pet as a reinforcement for his side.

Boom!

A cloud of smoke was suddenly created from his place, preventing Shin from seeing what had happened.

"Huh? He summoned another one?" muttered Shin while knitting his brows.

He actually wanted to continue this kind of battle since he was quite curious for how long he could control his clones on this kind of battle. But from the looks of it, it was quite impossible given that Akailu was planning to add another monster pet to join the battle.

He could actually use the Phantom Clone if he wanted to. But doing that might expose his dual identity, so it was better for him to personally take the current task in hand rather than risking that.

While he was having that thought, he suddenly heard a loud shriek that came from Akailu's direction.

Swoosh!

A moment later, a streak of light suddenly rushed out of the cloud of smoke and went straight towards Whitie who was currently too busy at dealing with the huge black bear. And given the speed that the streak of light, it was going to be an impossible feat for Whitie to dodge whatever was coming towards him.

Seeing that, Shin didn't delay any longer and teleported himself beside Whitie with the use of the 'Death Travel' equipment skill attached to the [Megumi's Shadow]. And right after the teleportation, Shin quickly took a sword drawing stance as he positioned himself at the path of the incoming streak of light.

Then Shin immediately pulled out the sheathed sword and swung it rightwards when the streak of light was about to reach him. And as he was pulling out the [Yamato] from its sheath, the blade of the sword was being covered with a silver light that was releasing a chilling aura.

Shing!

'Class Fighting Style: (Modified) Quick Draw: Moonlight Draw'

Bang!

The streak of light was forcefully stopped by Shin's attack, revealing its true appearance. It was a strange bird that had a smaller size compared to the other monster pets present in the 'battle arena', but it was at least much larger compared to a human's body.

It was a bird with feathers that had seven different shades of colors; it possessed the seven colors that the rainbow had.

The beak of this huge bird was currently clashing with Shin's sword, which was preventing it from moving further forward.

Shin squinted his eyes a little the moment he saw this new monster pet. One look from it and he could already tell that this was a pretty strong pet; especially with the intense threat that it was currently giving him.

Then Shin put more strength on his right arm before forcing this huge bird to back off a little. And right after that, he was planning to execute another skill as a follow-up attack. Unfortunately, this huge bird was quite clever and immediately flew backwards the moment Shin forced it to move backwards.

Shin knitted his brows a little as he observed the strange bird a little more; especially when it suddenly flew up in the air and circled around the battlefield. It looked like a hunting bird hovering in the air while watching its prey.

Meanwhile, the Black Bear seemed to see an opportunity when it saw Shin nearby and seemed to be unaware that there was a pair of wrestling beasts right behind him. Given that, the huge bear forced Whitie to take a couple of steps backwards before launching itself at Shin.

And when the Black Bear saw that Shin seemingly had no intention of looking at his back, the bear raised one of its front paws before swinging it at this human who seemed to be ignoring it.

But before that paw managed to reach Shin, his right arm suddenly started moving. He positioned the [Yamato] in front of his chest in a horizontal fashion. Then he enfolded the blade of the sword with the power of the Black Sun before stabbing it towards his right, where the bear's paw was coming from.

Swoosh!

'Extra Skill: (Modified) Heart Seeker'

Bang!

The tip of the [Yamato] accurately hit the center of the bear's paw as the sword successfully stopped it from advancing forward. It looked like the force behind that claw strike was instantly shattered the moment the claw came in contact with the sword.

Shin didn't move even for an inch when that happened. Aside from his cloak waving violently due the air accompanying that claw strike, he stood on his spot like an unmovable mountain.

After a split second of pausing, an explosion was suddenly sent out from the tip of the [Yamato], sending the paw of the black bear backwards. Then Whitie arrived at this moment and rammed at the bear and sent it flying.

After that, Whitie immediately gave chase to the flying black bear as he was not willing to let this opportunity slip away from him.

At the same time, Shin's gaze was actually fixed at the strange bird hovering above them the entire time. In fact, he didn't even give the black bear a single look when he was executing those series of actions.

Then he suddenly wore a huge grin behind his mask before muttering to himself. "A flying battle, huh? I haven't properly experienced one yet, so let's try doing it this time."
