Child of Destiny

Chapter 1047 Risking Everything On The Line (Part 1)

……

Shiella, who was chasing after the agents of the Hextech Laboratory, finally met the person, who seemed to be the one leading their current operation.

She was purposely exposing herself in danger to redirect the attention of the organization from the event that her mother was hosting to her. It seemed to be a reckless move, but from her perspective, it was worth it.

This was way better than being the scapegoat of the Hextech Laboratory when they succeed in their operation. Dealing with a single underworld organization was much easier than facing a group of large corporations that were comparable to their Flying Dragon Corporation.

When she saw the man standing in front of her, she knew that he was much stronger than her current self. She knew that this was the end of the line for her, so she did not raise any resistance and let herself be a captive of the opposing side.

Instead of wasting her energy and risking herself to suffer any serious injuries, it was better to save as much strength as possible by not fighting this powerful opponent and following them willingly.

The rest was left for David and Joaquin to deal with. She hoped that they would be able to catch up to her before the opposing side escaped and took her out of the continent.

The guy who was leading this operation had an alias of a Hakuna, which was a special title within the organization. He might not be as strong as the other captains who came for this operation, but his position was way higher than theirs due to his better potential.

Hakuna looked at Shiella calmly as he knew what she was trying to do. Their operation might have been compromised because of her, but if they took her to their main base, then everything would have been worth it. Shiella was not someone who was only talented, but she was one of the greatest talents among geniuses and prodigies.

Not only she possessed unrivaled talents, but she also had the powerful bloodlines of families with a long history.

He had to take her to their headquarters no matter what. They were already in this situation, so it would be better if they secure a ‘subject’ of her caliber.

As for the other guys who were chasing after them, he was not too concerned about them. The other captains were holding the most threatening guy at the moment, so they still have enough time to escape. They might not know who that person was, but he was confident that the three captains would be able to buy them enough time.

The other agents of the organization were also acting as a decoy. They were scattered everywhere and ran in a random direction, trying to confuse the opposing side. With the number that their side had, it will take a long time for the people of the Flying Dragon Corporation to capture them all.

The only problem that concerned Hakuna right now was the police and military forces that became alerted due to the current situation. Those guys were already on their tail after discovering the sudden disappearance of the talented people of the younger generation. And now that such a big incident was currently happening, those forces would undoubtedly be able to connect it to them and immediately make their moves.

Hakuna had to take advantage of the chaos that their people were making to escape as soon as possible. Having that in mind, he headed straight to the rendezvous point while leaving a couple of people behind to shake off the people who were possibly tailing them.

Shiella was being carried over the shoulder by a huge and bulky man which was very uncomfortable. The expression on her face was dark due to this reason. If only her strength was not bounded by the sealing handcuffs, then she would have beaten this guy up already.

She endured being carried like that for a few minutes before she was thrown on the ground by the bulky guy. .𝒄𝒐𝒎

She glared at the muscle giant as she fell on her butt after being thrown. After that, she swept her gaze at the surroundings and discovered that they were currently on an unnamed port. She was not sure where this place was exactly or when it appeared, but she was confident that such a place shouldn’t be here.

Casting her gaze on the water, she saw a silhouette of something huge slowly surfacing from underneath. It only took her an instant to realize what it was. ‘A submarine? And a very advanced one at that. It is pretty large too’

‘No wonder the police and military forces can find them no matter how hard they search within the Easter Sea Region – these guys are actually hiding under the sea!’ she came to a realization of how crafty these people were.

“Captain, we still have to wait for a few minutes before the ‘Sea Giant’ can send the boats. They still have to set up the stealth function of the Sea Giant in the surroundings to hide our tracks from the satellites,” reported one of the agents that greeted Hakuna.

Hakuna could not help but frown deeply when he heard that. They were currently in a hurry and needed to get on the giant submarine as soon as possible.

It was one of the greatest inventions of the Hextech Laboratory. It had severable functions that could be used in different kinds of situations. It had a very advanced stealth function and was armed with powerful weapons that could threaten the Domain Realm and Venerable Realm Experts.

There were also sets of defensive equipment installed in Sea Giant that could withstand the consequential attacks of such strong existence, which gave them a sense of security whenever they were within it.

This was where Hakuna’s confidence was coming from. As long as they had this great invention of the laboratory on their side, there was nothing to be afraid of. As long as they could get on it, no one could stop them from leaving this place.

The problem was if a lot of Domain and Venerable Realm experts arrived in this place when they were trying to escape. The Sea Giant might be powerful, but they would still be in grave danger if the opposing side caught up to them before they could even reach it.

Thus, making sure that the satellites of the military would not be able to discover them would be extremely necessary.

Each of the agents was carrying a special device that could jam the signal within a certain range of their surroundings. Unless they were using a special communication device that the organization had provided them, no one would be able to contact anyone.

This particular device also had the ability to camouflage them from the satellites, making it hard to locate them.

Shiella already realized this earlier, which was why she gave up on contacting her side through normal means. Instead, she relied on the talisman that David had given her.

The people of the Hextech Laboratory might have advanced equipment that could counter the technology of the military but David refused to believe that they had a Mentalist as strong as his master to notice the extremely faint signal that the talisman was giving out.

Shiella hid the talisman close to her chest so that the people who searched her would not be able to find it. Even though a woman agent searched her body, noticing such a thin piece of paper was almost impossible, especially when they were currently in a hurry.

They could not afford to waste a lot of time just to search her body. As long as they did not find a special tracking device on her, it would be fine. After all, they were also confident with their jamming device, so they were not that concerned about it.

“How many more minutes?” asked Hakuna with a hint of impatience.

The agent that was responsible for monitoring the situation quickly responded. “A little over ten minutes left, Captain.”

Hakuna frowned deeply when he heard that. He was having a bad feeling since he heard about the top expert that was holding three of their captain-level experts. He was suspecting that a big figure already caught on their tail.

“What about our agents? How many manage to arrive?” he asked while maintaining the dark expression on his face.

The agent was sweating bullets when he heard the impatience in his captain’s voice. He gulped a mouthful of saliva before continuing his report. “Almost all of the first-class agents already returned, Captain. We are only waiting for a couple of units to arrive and we will have everyone with a rank here.”

“As for the guys who were acting as decoys, let’s not hope for them to come back. They are already being pursued by three forces, so there is no hope of them escaping anymore.”

Hakuna continued to frown before asking another. “What about the unit captains?”

“About that-…” the agent paused for a moment as he nervously sneaked a peek at his captain before continuing. “That is where our problems are pretty serious, Captain. It seems like all of the unit captains have been marked by the opposing side. All of them are either been captured or still trying to shake off the people on their tails.”

“It looks like they have been targeted from the very start. Even the ones who are only responsible for monitoring the movements of their respective units from afar were discovered by the other party,” he added, unsure how it actually happened.

Hakuna fell into deep thought before continuing. “How about the other three, who are facing that unknown expert?”

The agent swiped the sweat on his forehead before answering. “It seems like it is also impossible for them to escape, Captain. Two of them are already been injured while the last one is doing his best to stay alive.”

Hakuna could only raise his head and close his eyes. Disaster. This operation ended in a total disaster.

He remained silent for a couple of moments before signaling. “Alright, tell the others to get ready. We are leaving as soon as the boats arrive. We will be leaving anyone who falls behind.”

The agent hesitated for a moment before nodding his head and relaying the message to everyone.

Everyone was busily preparing to leave when a loud explosion erupted from their flank, knocking everyone unconscious or injured who were caught into it.

They quickly stopped what they were doing and headed over in a very organized manner. They were thinking that their enemies had already caught up to them, so they were getting ready for a battle.

But they suddenly became surprised and confused when they saw that there was only a single person attacking their people. It was a young man with a fancy yet messed-up set of clothes.

They would normally ignore him and leave the job to their colleagues. But after seeing the raging Mental Energy that was leaking out from the body of the young man and spiraling around his body, they could not help but be wary of him.

The eyes of the young man had mandala patterns which sent an intense shiver on their spines when he swept his gaze at them.

David, who was trying to catch his breath, searched for Shiella with his eyes and Spiritual Sense. And when he found that she was safe and sound, he could not help but sigh in relief before focusing his gaze back on the agents of the opposing party.

He was running nonstop since he put Darren to sleep earlier, so he was pretty much exhausted. But at the same time, he also knew that his job was far from over, so he had no choice but to endure it for a little longer.

Hu~!

“I’ve finally caught up to you, bastard,” He took a deep breath before saying to them.

He then straightened his back and put his hands on his waist as he tried his best to regulate his breathing, gesturing. “Mind if I ask you to come at me together so I can wrap this up a little faster?”
