Chapter 328 – Cat Dad’s New Guests are Hustlers

“We’re back!”

The journalists that had returned to Earth went to submit their reports to their editors. They handed over the sim cards and the written reports.

The editor reviewed what his subordinates had submitted. He widely grinned when he saw the footage of the mysterious world of Xiaomao’s dungeon.

“Well done! Everybody will love this!”

“And this, too, sir.”

One of the crew put a white envelope on the table. It was his resignation letter.

“You… why?”

“I would like to withdraw the wage for this month right now.”

“Little Kim, did you get yourself into trouble?” The editor was baffled.

“No. I need money ASAP.”

“…”

.

.

Kim was not the only one who quit his job. Out of the 30 returnees, 12 of them left their jobs and withdrew all money from their bank accounts. They used all of their cash to stock up on food supplies, medicines, and PACT tokens. Then, they went home to pick up their families and packed their belongings.

Mir promised them that she would open a portal again tomorrow at 8 AM. This time, she would only maintain the portal for 30 minutes. Then, she would move to another province.

Emigration was a must. Staying here to see the world apocalypse was too risky for them.

Because of the urgency, they tried their best to convince their friends and their neighbors to move as well. Soon, the news reached the ears of Song Yang-Cheol.

The elder was still in the same hospital, resting and contemplating what to do.

“Mr. Lee, is the rumor legit?”

The secretary of the billionaire stood next to his bed. He handed a tablet to his boss.

On the tablet, clips and records of the conversation between Xiaomao, Mir, and the cultivators were played. Yang-Cheol listened to the clips three times to make sure, after which, he passed the tablet back.

“I’ve made my decision. Before morning, convert as many of our assets into PACT tokens.”

“SIR?!”

“There is no future in this world. Hyun Woo and I will migrate to that game world, and we need the tokens to survive in there.”

“But your businesses, and your share…”

“Tell my sons and daughters. Tell them, if they want my shares so badly, I will exchange my shares for PACT tokens. Those who give me the most will inherit my companies and businesses. Also, Mr. Lee, they must complete the transaction before 3 AM. You should also contact the law teams and finish the documents too.”

The secretary was reluctant, but he bowed, “Yes, sir. Judging from the liquidity of everybody, you will get about 800 million dollars at best. But your share’s value is beyond billions…”

“I don’t care. Give me the cash and buy the PACT tokens with it. I want to see 800 million dollars worth of PACT tokens in my game account before 6 AM!”

“Alright, sir! Then, please excuse me.”

“Hmm.”

The secretary left. Song Yang-Cheol picked up his phone and stood up. He took off the hospital gowns and changed into his business uniform and a coat. Then, he looked at himself in the mirror.

“I’ve done everything I could in this world. It’s time for me to leap into the unknown.”

Yang-Cheol thought of Xiaomao. At a glance, he looked as young as a high-schooler, but his eyes were clearer than Hyun Woo, who had been through the harsh investment environment on Wall Street.

They both went through some difficulties, but Xiaomao seemed a lot sharper despite being young. He was worried that Hyun Woo might be devoured if he left the grandson alone with the boy.

“Hyun Woo still has a lot to learn. That superhuman will devour him at this rate. I need to go there and keep him independent.”

.

.

7.30 AM

The ex-journalists and their families gathered in front of Ijin’s police station. They came here with their belongings, cars, bikes, and trucks. Among them, a few of their friends and neighbors also followed them here to send them off, but none of them agreed to move to the new world.

Everybody looked nervous as they didn’t see the talking cat or Xiaomao. They patiently waited and counted the time, hoping that the portal would open soon.

TUTUTUTUTU

Suddenly, a private helicopter hovered over the area and landed on the rooftop of the police station. At the same time, two semi-trailer trucks, carrying two containers, parked close to the station. Several men in black suits also arrived with their suspicious black sedans as if they were the bodyguards of someone.

On the building, three men and one woman came out of the helicopter and entered the police station. They walked down the building and exited through the front door, arriving at their destination.

p Song Yang-Cheol and Song Hyun Woo looked around. Upon seeing not too many people here, they were relieved.

Yang-Cheol scoffed, “I guess the media has already been taken over. I don’t see any news last night.”

Hyun Woo nodded, “I’m sure Solomon has already made his move. We’re lucky that they haven’t attacked us yet.”

“Businessmen are like fat cows in the business world. Politicians milk us for cash, and we use them to get rid of our competitors. But now, immortals, gods, and superhumans replace the politicians.”

“Nothing changes.”

“Wrong. Politicians are humans. At least, there are limits to what they can do in public. But those immortals, gods, and superhumans disregard all common senses. They will kill, plunder, and enslave us. They won’t just milk us dry, but they will butcher us for meat and force us to continue producing more meat while we’re dying!”

“…”

“Listen, Hyun Woo, I’ll be going with you. I can’t let you serve that superhuman like this. At this rate, he will milk you dry. I’ll be your buffer and teach you how to deal with a superhuman dictator.”

“Thank you, Harabeoji.”

Yang-Cheol deeply sighed and stopped talking, waiting for the appointed time.

.

8 AM

WHOOSH

Without the presence of the cat, a red portal appeared at the parking lot of the police station.

Hyun Woo and Yang-Cheol looked at each other and nodded. They braced for the dangers and led the immigrants to the new world. Their selected subordinates also drove sedans, trucks, and trailers to enter the portal.

Seeing how the mafia of the Song Family entered the portal without hesitation, the ex-journalist groups got in their cars and followed after them. They bid farewell to their friends and disappeared into the red portal.

The caravan proceeded without a hindrance as it was a small crowd. On the other hand, the people who came to send their friends off stared at the portal in disbelief and shock. Some of them hesitated if they should follow them to the “NOAH ARK”. Unfortunately, they lacked the resolve to join them.

Ten minutes later, the portal shrank and closed.

.

.

The newest group of refugees appeared in the metropolitan area like the previous group. Upon arrival, they found Mary, who was in charge there. Her bodyguards were with her as usual.

Mary welcomed the guests, “Welcome to Slave Dungeon’s B9 Floor. Please follow me. I’ll guide you to your new residents.”

Song Yang-Cheol looked around and widely smiled. He saw opportunities.

Although not many humans were living in this city, soon, new people would enter this world and live here. As a pioneer, if he could establish his business foothold here first, he would have the upper hand over his future rivals.

Food, clothes, medicines, real estate, electronic appliances, computers, telecommunications, entertainment platforms, delivery services, and cars, Song Yang-Cheol listed the money-making businesses in his mind.

“Excuse me, miss,” Yang-Cheol probed for more information.

“Yes?”

“By chance, is there any shop, bank, or food company here?”

“Umm, no. Aside from the food that the dungeon produces, we don’t have any vendor or shop here.”

“Then, is it possible to open a firm here to run shops?”

Mary widely smiled and clapped her hands, “If you’re able to procure materials from outside the dungeon, we will be happy if you can convert them into useful things for the residents. Of course, we will pay PACTs and gold coins for them.”

Song Yang-Cheol smiled from ear to ear. He turned around and looked at his loyal subordinates, who abandoned their families to come here with him and his grandson.

“Hyun Woo, we will be very busy from now on.”

Hyun Woo also noticed the opportunities. He had a thousand ideas on how he could turn two billion PACTs in his account into a trillion within a year.

“Indeed, Harabeoji. This place is our haven.”

“We have the ideas, skills, and experiences. The rest will be heavily dependent on manpower. For now, let’s settle down and hire some workers. If possible, we need to talk with the leader of this place and propose our plans.”

“Understood.”

Hyun Woo asked Mary next, “After we reach our destination, could you introduce us to your leader? We’re a former conglomerate group, and we would like to invest in this world.”

Mary raised her brows, “Before I make an appointment, could I know how much PACTs you are willing to invest?”

Hyun Woo grinned, “How about a billion?”

“…”

Mary sweated profusely and counted her fingers.

One PACT was one million gold coins here, which she could easily use to feed her family for 100 years. Her monthly salary was 100,000 gold coins, not including OT bonus, so she couldn’t fathom how rich they were.

Seeing how flustered Mary was, Hyun Woo laughed, “Just tell your leader that we have a lot of money. We just want to borrow some of his manpower.”

“O-Okay. I’ll tell our leaders after this.”
