Back For My Daughter

Chapter 148 - The Long Await!

The sun had set and with each passing minute, the darkness of the night encased the sky under its shadow.

In the house, Yanran, Lin and Mei were getting more worried with each passing minute and they would glance at the closed door of the guestroom every now and then.

They were getting more impatient as the time passed since the more late it was the more delay they would have for getting Xiao Ya in the hospital if Ye Qian was not able to treat her, which might lead to some complications.

It could be seen how much anxious they were, after looking at their tensed faces.

Meanwhile, the girls were watching cartoons with their grandparents.

While Grandma Yan would also look at the door of the guest room every now and then in wait for her son to walk out so that she would embrace him.

Grandpa Xiao patted her shoulder and nodded.

"Hmm.."

She could only nod and smile after seeing with how much indulgence the girls were watching the TV.

They had some snacks which were in the fridge and needed to be fried about half an hour ago since the little girls insisted for them eat something.

While Little Qiqi said that she had made some.

So there was even less chance that Grandma Yan and Grandpa Xiao would be able to reject something which their granddaughter made.

So they could only nod.

So with that, the girls went in with Yu Lan and came out in 5 minutes with a large plate of Egg rolls.

Everyone had a few and then they continued to talk with each other for a while.

It was mostly Yu Lan and Grandma Yan talking while her friends would answer some usual questions which Grandma asked.

It had been nearly two hours by now and there was no sign of anyone coming out of the room.

"Grandma, don't worry Papa will come soon."

Seeing her grandma having a sad face Little Qiqi brought her small hands and caressed Grandma Yan's cheeks and said with a smile.

"Yes dear, Grandma know he will come soon."

Grandma Yan took her hand and gave a tight kiss on it.

"Hehe, grandma, it tickles."

Little Qiqi giggled as Grandma Yan kissed her hand.

"Then let grandma tickle you even more."

Saying that she brought her hands to Little Qiqi's feet and started to tickle.

"Hehe, grandma, hehe stop, hehehe please."

Little Qiqi giggled while asking Grandma Yan to stop.

"CLICK"

Suddenly there was a clicking sound and the whole room went silent there was no sound other than the sound of the TV and the giggles of Little Qiqi which slowed down.

Everyone's gaze turned to the source of the click which was the door of the guest room.

The girls clenched their fists while thinking of a better way if Xiao Ya was not fine by now.

"CREAK"

"Pa..."

Meanwhile, the door opened with a creaking sound and Ye Qian walked out, the little girls wanted to run to him and call for him when they saw him placing his finger on his lips telling them to keep quiet.

Little Jia jumped off the couch and ran to him.

She didn't make any sound and just ran to him quietly.

Ye Qian silently closed the door and turned back only to see Little Jia running towards him.

He brought his hand and picked her up while giving her a kiss on her cheek.

"Did my Jia missed me?"

He asked while he caressed her hair with his right hand as he held her with his left.

"Hmm."

Little Jia nodded with her head shaking with vigour and a sweet smile on her lips.

Ye Qian smiled and glanced at everyone present.

Yu Lan and her friends were standing clearly impatient to hear about Xiao Ya while his parents were gazing at him with yearning.

His eyes turned red and moist when he saw his mother's condition and let sour on his heart.

She had lost a lot of weight and even looked a lot older than she actually was, this was all because of losing him and she was not able to cover it from that time.

Ye Qian nodded at them indicating them he would be there.

Grandma Yan couldn't control herself anymore with this torment of being so close to her long lost son but not able to feel him and ran to him while placing Little Qiqi on the couch.

These five years of losing her only son were not so easy for her, the son she had brought up in her womb and caressed for most of her life left her this was like that the sky had shattered for her and her world was devoured.

Her blood and soul died and she had nothing to live for and then they still didn't know if he was still dead or missing.

She didn't know if she must be happy on the day that she received the news that there was a possibility that her son was alive.

But it had been five years but now and there was no way her son would not come back to meet them if he was alive.

She had lost all her hope 3 years ago but there was still her son's widow and a newborn who was not more than a year old by now.

But today could be considered the luckiest day of her life.

And the most sad as well.

Her son was right in front of her but the predicament didn't allow them to even look at each other to their heart's content.

But she knew it was only a matter of a few minutes and her son would be in front of her the next minute as well.

For her, this hour-long wait was like she was slowly being tortured, yearning to see her beloved but not able to.

But finally, when she saw him her body trembled and her heart skipped a few beats in excitement.
