Li Ran thanked Yang Shao with a smile. Since she was used to being praised like this, her mind was only focused on the satellite phone. She was eager to receive Lin Nan’s reply.
However, Lin Nan’s replies were not instant. He was probably occupied by something. In the end, Li Ran decided to close her eyes and rest briefly.
Everyone was quietly minding their own business.
They looked a little tired.
Zhao Ying and Gu Jin leaned against each other and fell asleep.
Yang Shao sighed in his heart. He was also tired, but he could not fall asleep.
After all, how could he? What if danger approached them? Someone needed to keep an eye out.
When he was traveling with only Wang Gang, the places they chose to take a break would always be hidden. Even then, Yang Shao still could sleep peacefully.
On the other hand, Gu Zhao was very energetic. He was not sleepy at all. Being a child, he did not have much to worry about. The little boy was still ignorant of his surroundings.

“Brother Yang Shao, aren’t you tired? Why aren’t you sleeping?”
Yang Shao looked at him in a serious tone and replied, “I’m not tired.”
Upon hearing that, Gu Zhao immediately retorted with a straight face, “You’re lying. The dark circles under your eyes are so deep. My father told me that a person needs to get enough rest. Otherwise, their health will be affected! Big brother, do you understand that your body is very fragile?”
Yang Shao stretched out his hand and patted Gu Zhao’s head.
“I understand. I’ll go to sleep now.”
As he said that, he closed his eyes.
Gu Zhao was satisfied.

Then, he saw that everyone was surrounding a gas tank.
‘What are they doing?’
The sight relieved him. He stretched his body and got out of the car.
“Is that gas for the car?”
“Yes. As long as I set my sights on something, I will get it,” said Wang Gang as he filled up the car with gas. Once he was done, he threw the gas tank to the side and clapped
“Alright, we’re good to go!”
Li Ran had slept well and was full of energy. She immediately took charge of driving so that Wang Gang could rest.
Summer was about to come to an end. The fall weather was a little unpredictable. Some days it would be hot while other days it would be cool.
There was a small horde of zombies by the roadside that could pose some danger, but Li Ran continued to step on the accelerator.
According to Lin Nan, the most direct and fastest way to the safe base was through the city center. Taking a detour would waste their precious gas!
Ever since Li Ran encountered the mutated plant, she felt that this world is nothing but hazardous. Who knows, maybe even a mosquito could kill them.
Gu Jin caught a glimpse of an empty garage and quickly pointed out, “There’s a garage over there. Should we head inside and lock the door? That way, the zombies won’t be able to get through. What do you think?”
Wang Gang immediately disagreed, “No. It’ll make a lot of noise and the zombies will surround us. We’ll probably get stuck inside.”
