Chapter 87: Weird Horde of Zombies

Li Ran did not exactly follow the path that was provided by the navigation. It depended on what they encountered on the road. Driving a little further was no big deal if their safety was guaranteed.

There were quite a number of alleyways and Li Ran was unsure how many zombies would be in those areas.

In the end, Li Ran chose one of the lesser-used paths, so there should be fewer zombies. However, it was the complete opposite. A horde of zombies was present. They were quite a distance away from the zombies, so Li Ran stopped her car.

While she was hesitating if she should turn around, the zombies sensed her presence and began to rush over at an incredible speed.

Luckily, Li Ran noticed it. She immediately stepped on the accelerator and drove away at lightning speed.

Yang Shao looked behind and said coldly, “They’re catching up.”

“How are they so fast?”

Li Ran did not understand what was going on. Even if a physically fit person turned into a zombie, they should not be able to run at that speed. It was very abnormal. There seemed to be no way to stop them.

The zombies continued to catch up.

“No way! Do these zombies also have superpowers? That’s too much! What’s happening to this world?”

Zhao Ying’s face was full of fear. Was she going to die just like that? She did not even get the chance to see what the safety base looked like yet.

Li Ran had never encountered such a situation before. All she could do was step on the gas pedal and charge forward.

Yang Shao glanced at Zhao Ying and tried to encourage her, “You know, I’ve met a man who also had a fire attribute ability. He can spit fire directly from his mouth. It can be a string of flames or a fireball. The fireballs could travel for a pretty long distance.”

Yang Shao raised his head. There were banging sounds coming from the car’s roof. Being helpless was the scariest feeling in a post-apocalyptic world.

Li Ran knew that she had the ability to save her own life, but if the others got hurt, she would feel terrible. She could not just leave them.

The zombies were getting closer and closer. They had no intention of giving up at all!

Li Ran frowned and suggested, “Why don’t we return to the place with the willow tree? Maybe it could help us.”

“It’s uncertain if those plants would kill us along with the zombies.”

Yang Shao continued to look at the roof of the car. It would break apart at any moment. He had never come across such crazy zombies!

“It’s as if those zombies were on drugs.”

Wang Gang had been observing Li Ran. Her whole body was shaking. Obviously, that was not a good sign.

He grabbed Li Ran’s arm and said earnestly, “Let me drive. I’ll put my foot on the accelerator before we swap out.”

Wang Gang stretched out his left foot to step on the accelerator. He also placed one of his hands on the steering wheel. Then, he signaled Li Ran trade places.

Li Ran did not think too much about it and instantly followed Wang Gang’s instructions.

They swapped spots without much difficulty.

Then, Li Ran reminded everyone, “Buckle up!”

Zhao Ying, Gu Zhao, Gu Jin, and Yang Shao held each other’s hands. The four of them huddled together and braced for impact.
