Young Master in the Apocalypse

122 Ravine

“Captain, what should we do!”

With hundreds of abyss creatures in front of them and a ravine at the back, even the powerful Templars were shaken.

“What else!? Stand your ground! Our God will protect us!”

The moment Captain Landin raised his sword, bright light covered not only his entire body, but all of the Templar knights present. Following it, their previously crumbled morale was not only repaired, but even strengthened twofold.

Even Viktor, who was not in the area of Captain Landin’s light, somewhat felt a surge of motivation rising inside him.

At the same time, a notification came to his mind.

[You have received the effect of the skill Battle Cry.]

[Your battle power is increased by 2 points.]

It was a group buff skill, certainly an interesting one. Although it only increased his battle power by 2 points, it also had an effect that gave a boost of morale to the group.

“Raise your shield, raise your sword! Fight!” the captain loudly shouted.

“Fight!!!!”

The Templar captain was certainly brave and powerful, but those were not all. He also had charisma on top of them, making him an excellent leader. As he firmly stood at the forefront, everyone followed his every example and order.

Naturally, Elena did not just stand in place and do nothing. Following the invigorated roar of the knights, the female Templar put both of her hands up into the air. After a few seconds of chanting, a wall of fire rapidly built up in front of the Templars, burning dozens of the abyss creatures in the area and causing the creatures behind to hesitate.-.

With no back to protect, Viktor, Jessie, Boris, and Torri quickly took position next to the knights’ formation and started to kill the incoming abyss creatures.

Although their focus was mostly on the seemingly endless wave of enemies in front of them, Captain Landin could still sense the movements behind him. While it was true that the captain expected them to help, Viktor and his team’s quick response brought him a little relief.

The group unceasingly fought for half an hour before the number of creatures began to thin up.

The captain pierced his sword onto the ground to take a few breaths and looked around to check the others’ condition. Everyone was exhausted, but they now had a more relieved look on their faces.

Meanwhile, at the rear, Elena was healing a badly wounded knight.

Like the other knights, Viktor’s energy was also quite drained, so he was also relieved that the battle was about to end. But as if fate was not allowing him to rest, the Djinn’s voice suddenly sounded in his mind.

<Enemies from behind!>

“Behind? Did you lose your sense of direction?” Viktor blurted out.

He was about to shrug off the Djinn’s words, but as soon as he finished speaking, panic came crashing along with a realization. He hurriedly called Jessie and the two bodyguards and rushed them to turn around and return to the rear, where Eva and the two boys were at.

However, before they had the time to get moving, dozens of flying figures rose from the ravine.

[Gargoyles].

Viktor had been fighting against hellhounds so much that he completely forgot about the existence of these abominable creatures.

Due to exhaustion, even the Templars did not notice the sudden appearance of the gargoyles. Not to mention, the front and the rear were quite a distance away. Everyone, especially Eva, Barry, and Kosta, was caught unprepared.

“Ack—!”

When one of the gargoyles approached the group of three, it was able to instantly throw Kosta over half a dozen meters with just one kick.

Barry was terrified, but he quickly gathered his courage and stepped in front of the princess. Inside, he was praying that help would come quickly, but at that moment, another one charged toward them.

“Run!!” Barry shouted. His voice was not very loud, but it clearly shook. Still, despite the fear that caused his entire body to tremble, the boy firmly stood in place between Eva and the incoming gargoyle.

Eva panicked. As she turned around to run, she immediately noticed a figure running toward her in the distance. At that moment, her fear turned to relief and she quickly dashed toward the person she knew was her safe haven.

However, all of a sudden, the gargoyle that was previously charging at Barry sharply turned and grabbed Eva’s shoulders, pulling the princess into the air and further away from Viktor.

“Eva!!”

Viktor became furious and quickly chased after her. He jumped and dashed with all of his 80 points of agility to catch up, but from the dark sky, two more gargoyles charged at him and stood in his way.

Clank!! Clank!!!

“Fu*k!”

The biggest problem with going against these flying ugly creatures was their anti-non-magical item body. Even Viktor’s strongest blow was only able to push the creature away.

He was about to try dodging to get past the two gargoyles and to Eva, but at this moment, a [Lightning Bolt] flew from behind and struck the gargoyle holding Eva. This caused the gargoyle to reflexively throw her down due to the pain.

Jessie had just come in to help with the two bodyguards behind them when more flapping sounds abruptly sounded from the direction of the ravine. As expected, immediately after, 2-3 dozen more gargoyles appeared from deep within the ravine.

Viktor quickly dashed in and attacked more of the gargoyles surrounding Eva.

Clank!! Clank!!

More and more gargoyles began charging at them. Viktor was extremely tempted to use either [Metal Fusion] or [All Might], but he knew that both of those skills would not be able to do much against these cursed anti-magic creatures.

It still would not make much of a difference even if he used both of them at once.

Clank! Clank!! Clank!!

More gargoyles began to charge at them. Another one managed to grab Eva, but before Viktor could retaliate, another gargoyle came from his side and grabbed him on his shoulders. Before he could react, he had been pulled out of the cliff.

“What the fu*k! Let go of me!!”

Viktor tried to struggle out of the gargoyle’s claws. However, when the creature’s body actually shook, his attention moved to the deep ravine below.

He would definitely fall there if these claws were to let go.

“No, wait! Don’t let go!! Just put me back!!”

In front of him, Viktor saw how Jessie tried to cast another thunder spell to help him, only to be grabbed by a gargoyle as well.

Within minutes, Viktor, Eva, and Jessie were taken just before the Templars were able to pay attention to the rear. It was only after Viktor was a distance away that he saw Elena raise both of her hands and created the biggest fireball he had ever seen before throwing it into the air.

KABOOM!!!

The explosion instantly evaporated the two gargoyles holding him and Jessie. Meanwhile, the other gargoyle holding Eva threw her away upon seeing the explosion, causing the three to fall.

“Fu*k!!”

Viktor quickly swung his ax at the nearest cliff wall and grabbed Jessie before shouting to the Djinn in his mind, ‘Help her, Djinn!’

No matter how much he wanted to grab Eva as well, the girl was too far for him to reach. In the end, he could only resort to asking the Djinn for help.

Instantly, a cloud of blue smoke came out of his magic lamp, turning into a flying creature and swiftly flying toward Eva.

Jessie quickly swung herself and grabbed the nearest stone. Without saying a word, the girl decided to climb down instead of up, and Viktor swiftly followed.

They had to climb about 300 – 400 meters down until they finally reached the bottom a few minutes after.

“Eva!!” Viktor shouted while looking around, his axe ready for any trouble.

‘Djinn, where are you!’

<we are 200 meters on your left!>

Viktor quickly felt relieved when he heard the Djinn’s voice in his mind, especially when it was telling him that Eva was alright.

Jessie silently looked at his face before suddenly speaking.

“From your expression, it looks like you know that Eva is safe… one of these days, you really need to tell me your secrets!” the girl happily exclaimed.

Viktor only responded with a smile.

When the two approached their destination, they heard faint voices within the dark in the distance and found them in a small cave, hidden behind a few rocks.

“Eva!!” Viktor shouted again.

This time, Eva responded, “Here! I am here!”

When the two finally arrived, Viktor let out a relieved sigh when he saw Eva was safe and appeared to be completely safe without a single wound.

It was only after he was sure Eva was safe that he realized another person was also here. Standing behind Eva was an expressionless young beautiful girl with long black hair and pale skin.

“Who the hell is she?”
