Qiu Ran began chanting something before Huo Yunting withdrew himself from the ward.

The team of doctors were waiting nervously at the door, as they swarmed upon him as he exited the ward. But the president was not in a mood to entertain the incapable specialists as he left the place without a word, hitting the sunset.

The marmalade colored world was looking brilliant in the evening light as the remaining heat of the sun livened up the world. It was a peaceful sight except for that one wrecked man strolling into the horizon.

The intercourse was hectic for Lu Zhaoyang that night when Huo got home. Lu always had to bear the cost of his moodiness, like an obedient wife she was supposed to be, with her long broken virginity to be further demolished. Somehow, it was worse this time. Lu, biting her lips in her torment, could tell the difference while being pounded. The devil might be ruthless but he often handled her with care, nonetheless, the cruelty seemed to have amplified that late evening.

It felt as if…he was trying to express something.

He seemingly had transformed into a hungry werewolf when the sun started setting, and the rapid motion did not cease even when the moon rose. To the contrary, it intensified. It was total devastation, when Lu’s mind was filled with nothing else than her plight and the fierce howl of her man. Her hair was pulled and her tender body was scratched. A domination seen and a plea unheard.

When the half moon dimly lit the darkness, the breeze reached her exposed skin like a mischievous touch, as she laid bare on the bed, staring at the ceiling mindlessly, only having the sound of her man zipping, calling her for dinner, echoing in her wet ears.

They took turns to shower and got themselves changed. They headed downstairs for dinner and the table was quiet.

Lu Zhaoyang occasionally passed him a few glances, that pale pinkish lining on his fair forehead still felt painful to her sight.

“So…where did you go this afternoon?”

She tried to make conversation, since this willful president canceled all his afternoon schedules on a whim and zoomed away from the office.

Her words shocked Huo a little, justifiable based on the brief shudder at his wrists.

“Why? You want to manage my life for me now? Do I need to write you a report?”

Lu responded with a quick eyeroll, “Fine, forget it. Keep chewing, soldier.”

Huo Yunting was uninterested to talk. He carried on chewing his food silently, with the occasional frown possibly upon the realization that he was zoning out again.

What is he thinking?

Lu was curious.

Later that night, there was no round 2 for their war in bed. Lu felt relieved as she finally got to have a peaceful night. It was such good sleep that morning came almost as if immediately after for her.

The sunlight of dawn scorched her eyes through the uncovered window. She rubbed her bleary eyes as she peeked at the clock inside the blanket. “What?” The blanket tumbled as the sleeping beauty rolled over, almost shrieking in an emergency, only to notice Huo had already gotten up, as he was enjoying his morning reading literature.

She pulled the blanket towards herself and spoke softly, “Get up. We have an important meeting today! That President Huang would be there too!”

“Heh…” President Huo sneered.

President Huang? Mr. Huang Dong? That pest will surely do something knowing his little toys have been removed.

He was clearly assigned by somebody.

And I can’t be standing there just to be stabbed at the back.

“What do you think of the mastermind behind this?” Asked Huo.

Obviously there was somebody behind the scene, since Lu Zhaoyang had overheard Huang’s phone call before he installed the bugs.

“Well…” Flatly she replied, “He hasn’t been doing anything lately. We don’t have enough evidence to tell that yet. More importantly, do you remember anyone whom you insulted before that could have done this?”

“So you propose that this is a revenge scheme by enemies in the dark?”

“Well, you have too many enemies in the dark. So, for now, I suggest we wait for them to reveal themselves.”

“You are right and you are wrong, Zhaoyang. Normally those who acted against me never have a chance again to do so in their life. Not. Even. One. So…” Huo squinted, “I guess this is a new guy I’ve never contacted before.”

Lu remembered that night when the hog was almost dismembered by the consecutive gunshots from Huo. The shriek—he even made that guy drove home with crippled limbs himself.

I wouldn’t be that stupid to go against Huo Yunting. It’s scary…

“Hostile in the dark. Challenging, hm, challenging.”

She concluded.
