Chapter 422 – Pet Names

Rui Fei who was wearing a long face after Ji Yao said they should get back to the ship tried to persuade him to go back to their little paradise again. Even if it was only for one day he would accept it.

As he hovered behind Ji Yao he pinched the man's sleeve between his fingers and said, "Wangfei…. just one more day… please." He tugged Ji Yao's sleeve trying to act as cute as possible but who would have thought Ji Yao wouldn't be moved by his cute act. In fact, he was reprimanded for something entirely different.

Ji Yao turned around to face him as they hovered above Red Valkyrie and said, "Fei-er, don't call me that when we get down there… I have a reputation to uphold."

His tone was like that of an overbearing president reprimanding his subordinate which he also happens to be sleeping with. Talk about an office sex scandal, am I right?

Instead of taking him seriously Rui Fei leaned forward and in a swift move pecked Ji Yao's lips in a fleeting kiss. And just like a thief in the night he immediately retreated with a roguish expression.

Startled Ji Yao felt like a cat's soft paw had scratched at his heart. "You can't do that either in front of everyone," he said trying to be serious but the corners of his lips were quivering slightly.

"If you say it like that I feel like a high-end courtesan you use once and dispose of when you get bored," said the shameless cub as he averted his gaze acting like he had been wronged. Leave it to Rui Fei to call himself a high-end prostitute just to make Ji Yao feel bad.

"Why are you being such a drama king?….. I meant that you should call me something else, not Wangfei. Even Yao-ge would be perfect," said Ji Yao feeling so exasperated, "and what courtesan? I have never seen a courtesan who gives the client all their belongings."

"Wait, wait, wait… have you seen courtesans before? How do you know they don't give money to their clients?" asked Rui Fei focusing on the most irrelevant part of this conversation.

Ji Yao, "…."

Okay, even he had to admit that Rui Fei's IQ drops significantly whenever he is around him. He didn't feel like he should explain himself but he also knew that if he didn't this drama king would act out for the rest of the day.

"No I haven't and it's common knowledge. Ah never mind that… just call me something else, okay?" said Ji Yao a little flustered. Not giving Rui Fei an opportunity to retort he descended form the sky and landed on the main deck right in front of Rui Li who was excitedly calling out to him.

The excited Rui Li was biting her lips trying to contain her scream while clenching her fists to prevent herself from hugging him but it was incredibly difficult. 'Just this once….. just this one time,' she said to herself with radiate eyes shining like stars.

"Ah fuck it," she said before hastily taking a step forward to hug Ji Yao but before she could touch down her forehead slammed into a strong palm like she had hit a brick wall preventing her from advancing further.

With her arms flaring about the scene was extremely comical. Annoyed she stopped fighting and removed the hand on her forehead. In front of her was Rui Fei standing there with a wolfish grin. "That's my pumpkin….. only I can touch him," he said only for Ji Yao to interject saying,

"Just Yao-ge would be fine. Pumpkin sounds weird."

Rui Li who had been irritated just now grinned like a fool as she whispered, "Oh, so you are all at the stage of looking for pet names. I take it things went well." As she said this she scooted closer to Rui Fei to get the hot gossip.

With her shoulder pressed against Rui Fei's arm, she nudged him while flicking her eyebrows. "Don't tell her anything," said Ji Yao fearing that this oversharer might share their scandalous in between the sheets business.

Rui Fei turned to look at Ji Yao and nodded his head indicating that he won't say anything only for him to turn around and raise his thumb at Rui Li as though saying mission accomplished.

Ji Yao, "…"

Rui Fei might as well have tattooed not a virgin anymore on his forehead because his face was all telling. "Look… he did this," said Rui Fei pointing at his bruised lip.

"Come, let me look at you and don't listen to your brother's nonsense," replied Ji Yao beckoning her over. These few years had indeed worked wonders. The little girl who used to wear pigtails and orange robes like a little prisoner was all grown up into a young beautiful woman with an extremely extroverted personality.

Without much thought, he stretched out his hand and lightly pat the top of her head. He knew his body would react strongly to his actions but his heart was warm having seen her.

Rui Li who had just been patted on the head by her saozi froze for a second before she bit her lips tightly and began to cry. She couldn't suppress the raging emotions in her heart. For the past few years, she had seen her brother suffer because he was forced to separate from his lover.

From outbursts to self-harm she had seen it all and neither of the two of them could do anything to ease his pain. If it weren't for Huishe Yue intervening and giving him that pendant Rui Fei might have caused even greater damage to his body.

Now seeing that the two of them had reunited and were happy her emotions were already at the cliff's edge threatening to topple over so when Ji Yao patted her head it was the last straw. Shoved off the cliff she began to cry. She really missed her saozi so much.

Ji Yao's hand that had just retreated froze midair with his fingers curled. "I….," he said looking at Rui Fei for help.

Rui Fei gave him a reassuring smile as he took her into his arms rubbing her shoulder to comfort her. "Don't worry Yao-ge….. she just, she just missed you a lot… so did I," said Rui Yewan hoping for a head pat too but he didn't show it on his face.

Ji Yao's hand jerked a little. He wanted to pat his head too but recalling Rui Li's reaction he restrained himself. "You aren't going to cry as well are you?" he asked jokingly.

"Huh?… No, no, I, I promise I won't," he stammered before pressing his lips into a thin line lowering his head obediently.. Ji Yao stifled a chuckle as he lightly patted his head.
