Voyage With The Pirate King

Two beasts collided head to head but one was much stronger than the other. If it weren't for the chains binding his wrists Qilin Kai would have finished emperor Rui off a long time ago.

On the other hand, emperor Rui wasn't the strongest but because he was crazy it meant he was capable of anything and had no moral compass whatsoever.

You would think the fresh out of the box emperor would leave the shackles on Qilin Kai's wrists like so as this would allow him to maintain his upper hand. But Emperor Rui had no such plans. He slowly walked over his steps more overbearing than the next.

With a menacing grin plastered on his face, he raised the key dangling it in a taunting manner in front of Qilin Kai's face before tossing them to him.

A puzzled Qilin Kai maintained a straight face as he slowly unlocked those chains but his gaze remained fixed on the emperor with great vigilance. If Emperor Rui so much as made the wrong move Qilin Kai planned to finish him off with no hesitation.

Since the man had made the stupid mistake of letting him go then he would take advantage of this stupidity. While Qilin Kai was thinking of a hundred ways to tear the man apart, emperor Rui had summoned a group of servants who brought over a seat that closely resembled his throne in the imperial palace just that it was smaller.

He flung his sleeves and sat down his posture nothing like that of a ruler but it was still so overbearing. His dark eyes fixed on Qilin Kai he said, "I know what you are thinking... you are thinking of striking me down as soon as you remove the bonds on your wrists. Am I right?"

As soon as he said this the clicking sound of the last lock on Qilin Kai's wrist sounded. But instead of doing what he planned on doing before he stood there with his eyes narrowed scrutinizing this person. He hated it when people tried to read his mind and worse of all reiterate his thoughts to him.

But before he could retort Emperor Rui said something that had his body frozen in place. "If you want you can waste your time killing me and these pests. No one will stop you but... that also means you won't find the person you are genuinely after. I have been in her lair and I am the only one who can help you find her."

The 'her' in his sentence didn't need an explanation. Qilin Kai immediately understood his meaning. This person knew where his cousin, Qilin Hao was. Of course, he also knew this piece of information wouldn't be easily shared. This dog emperor wanted something.

The chains fell to the ground with a loud clank as Qilin Kai felt a surge of power previously restrained by the latrion circulate in his aetherial veins.

A comforting feeling spread throughout his body making him involuntarily close his eyes in satisfaction. When he opened them again they were inky with sinister energy inside those dark pupils.

His eyes sent a chill down the two siblings' spines as they crawled a bit backwards. They didn't want to be around two crazy people lest they get caught up in the crossfire and killed off simply because they weren't nice to look at. Unfortunately for them, neither of the two had plans to let them go.

Qilin Kai who was itching to try out his power that he had recently got back stretched out his hand and a blue flame shot out striking a few inches beside Dong Jie and his sister. "Who told you you could leave?" said Qilin Kai glaring at them in his peripheral view.

The ashen-faced siblings looked at each other before their gazes shifted at the crater formed beside them from the blast.

This is why working for the villain is never a good idea. Yes, the money was good but the harsh working hours and probability of being killed off at the end of the job were off-putting. The amount of regret was clearly written on their faces but it was already too late for should-haves.

Watching those fearful pathetic figures quaver, emperor Rui smiled enjoying someone else's torment.

"What do you want in return?" asked Qilin Kai getting straight to the point, "If it's about getting your son back I am afraid that task is a very difficult one." Emperor Rui's nonchalant expression finally cracked.

Of course, he wanted that brat back but that wasn't his main priority. He wanted to gain access to Niuq and its power. Once he gets this his son will naturally fall into his hands but Qilin Kai's words piqued his interest.

The words Qilin Kai spoke were the truth. There was nothing more difficult to handle than a Huishe thinking with his lower half or heart according to romcoms. Rui Fei was the perfect example of a Nocru head over heels and peeling him away from his lover would be like trying to pull apart fingers glued together by super glue. The level of difficulty was high even for a Nocru stronger than Rui Fei.

"I can help you get your son back but I would have to kill Ji Yao to do that which will, in turn, piss off Qilin Hao. Facing my emotional cousin would make her much easier to handle than before," continued Qilin Kai already foreseeing his victory.

Emperor Rui clenched his fist and said, "Why would I exchange Qilin Hao for that brat? Naturally, I will be able to handle him eventually. What I want is to harness the power from Niuq and become a god. I want to rule over everything under the sun and in the sea with no opposition..... if you can make that happen I will give you Qilin Hao."

Qilin Kai couldn't believe this man's unattainable request. Becoming a god under the sun was impossible especially when the entirety of Niuq was occupied by centuries-old true blood Nocru with so much power in their hands even Qilin Kai wouldn't casually confront them.

We are talking about the great Huishe leader who barely made an appearance but when he did show his face he would wreak havoc. Even Qilin Kai's uncle, he whose name was too sacred to mention. Qilin Kai only dared to face his uncle because he had the backing of a Hundun but ever since his nephew ruined that for him he put his plans to attack his uncle on hold.

Besides these powerful beings in Niuq, there were also other clans like the Pixiu clan even the Nian, Xiezhi and Wuzhiqi clans among others.

These powerful clans weren't something a mere half-blood with a questionable blank core could conquer. It seemed someone put it in this Emperor's mind that if he gains access to Niuq he would get innumerable power which was a flat out lie. Qilin Kai could have said something but he wasn't a good person.. All he wanted was to get his hands on Qilin Hao and he would do anything to get to her.
