Voyage With The Pirate King

The outcome of this probe was most certainly obvious. Rui Li was standing with her back lazily leaning against the wall with one arm crossed on her chest and the other hand in front of her looking down at her nails. She was surrounded with an air that seemed to say, "I don't know shit so fuck off."

Rui Yewan was no different. His arms were also crossed on his chest with a stern expression. Of the two he was the one who spoke but his answer was less than satisfactory. They knew his response was an obvious lie but the way he said it was so convincing making it hard to refute.

"He was with us the entire time and that bruise is too ugly to be done by him," he said pointing at the sleeping Xiaoyu.

Rui Li scoffed loudly as she leisurely lifted her eyes and said, "If this was Rui Fei's handiwork there would be no body. Poof..... she would simply disappear into thin air," making a hand gesture of that expressing a mysterious disappearance.

The three adults looked at each other fully aware that these two were not inclined to answer the question and would never answer it truthfully.

Old Du guessed normal means wouldn't get him truthful answers so he took out a conspicuous looking porcelain bottle with a tape-like seal on its mouth. The way it was sealed said something about the potency of the contents inside.

He grinned wickedly as he said, "How about we make them talk? There is a chance their minds would turn to mush after this but why not?"

When he finished saying this he was met by resistance not only from Rui Li and Rui Yewan but also Zhang Li and Lady Ching Sei. If anything happens to these two they might end up like Xiaoyu.

Rui Li had her sabre drawn out and Rui Yewan had the shadowy spikes made from his seraphic energy rotating mid-air in front of him. Light black mists were vaporizing from the spikes like liquid nitrogen when boiling water is poured into it.

"I wouldn't do that if I was you," said Rui Yewan ready to slice and dice this old man. The three were stuck in a stalemate with the temperature in the room dropping drastically. It looked like a scene out of a wild wild west movie with two cowboys actively participating in a gun draw duel. It was apparent that a fight was going to break out.

But just as the tension reached an all-time high, Old Du suddenly laughed showing his chipped off tooth. He put away the bottle as he said, "You are too serious, hahaha... why would I do such a thing. I don't have a death wish. Tsk, look at you looking all riled up."

After saying this he walked past the pair of siblings whacking Rui Yewan's arm twice in the process causing the poor boy to stagger a little. The hit wasn't painful but it was heavy-handed causing him to falter to the side.

The four people watched him walk away and couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief. Who on this ship didn't know what sort of nasty things this old man carried?

If he wanted Old Du could have dispensed a sedative powder and they would wake up on his dissecting table with missing organs. Zhang Li especially had first-hand experience as his son had cherry plum butt cheeks as big as melons from Old Du's poisoning.

His son couldn't walk neither could he sit up. He spent an entire month or so lying on his stomach whining like a pig. Just recalling those buttcheeks blown up like balloons he couldn't help but shudder. It's a good thing the old man was joking otherwise they would also be caught in the crossfire and experimented on.

While these four were thanking the heavens that Old Du let it go Ji Yao had no reason to be thankful. He had been bumping heads with this creature for a good twenty minutes but it refused to relent. He didn't know if it was his illusion but the creature seemed to be getting stronger and stronger as the fight dragged on.

The brilliant lights that appeared like rays and dynamic flickers kept coming which could only be the reason why this battle was getting harder and harder. Hovering above the tidal waters he held his shoulder that had been injured once more in the confrontation.

His back was arched to the side as he squeezed his shoulder while glowering at the creature with his burning gaze. His hair that was always in place had a little frizz and there were droplets of blood at the corner of his mouth. His eyes were still as before as he held his sword.

The creature that had suffered a grave attack stood upright as the brilliant lights healed the wound Ji Yao caused just now. It was like watching stitches heal in a timelapse. The torn flesh moved closer together before fusing into one healing the wound.

The Yinying burst out in laughter its voice gruff with two voices speaking at once like there were two people in its body. "He hehehe..... you trust him that much? The kid just killed one of your crew members so what guarantee do you have that he will get the job done. Like me, he is probably trying to get the keystones and keep them to himself," it spoke its goal being 'sowing the seeds of disharmony'.

Ji Yao's chest was heaving deeply but he seemed unaffected by its words maintaining that frosty gaze. The creature didn't mind him. When it absorbed the keystone just now it gained the insight that it usually saw through the puddle with the keystone underwater.

When the keystone's power entered its body it gained an all-seeing sight that led it to see Xiaoyu lying in bed passed out. It knew she wasn't dead yet but it couldn't help further aggravating the situation. Since things had gotten to this point it had to put plan B in effect that is to kill Ji Yao and then get the keystones.

"I don't believe you," said Ji Yao as he tightened his hold on the hilt of his sword.

"Hehehe of course you don't. Maybe if you hear his motive you will believe me," it said before it spun in an arc sending a gust of wind with six arrows in Ji Yao's direction.

Ji Yao made a hand gesture and the ring of lightning behind him spun forward and dispelled the attack causing a big explosion upon contact.

The creature's laughter rang from behind the tsunami of water that had stirred up after that explosive attack. When the height of the water dropped slightly it met Ji Yao's pair of cold eyes and said,

"He found out there is a chance for your illness to be cured and decided to get rid of the only other person who knows the truth. Who do you think that is Ya....Ya?"
