Chapter 164 - A Lesson From A True Qilin

Qilin Kai didn't fail to shed some light on Ji Yao's problem which he enjoyed doing. He had been sitting with his legs crossed as though meditating when Ji Yao entered the brig.

The first thing Ji Yao asked was about the keystone which he had also realised influenced the environment. That is why Sheji was a perfect replica of the climate on Mars.

This conversation didn't go far because Qilin Kai being the older generation could tell Ji Yao was unnerved. Without needing the specifics he said, "Did you fight with your boyfriend?" with a sly smile on his face.

Ji Yao, 'The fuck....'

"He is not my boyfriend," replied Ji Yao a little annoyed. He was already right at the edge of the cliff and with one shove with a pinkie finger he would topple over and lose his rationality.

Having struck the nail on the head Qilin Kai leaned back with a smug look on his face. He grinned like a fiend and said, "Oh, my bad. I forgot he isn't your boyfriend..." He leisurely stood up and strode over to the bars with the chains clinking with his movements. With his hands clenching the bars he looked dead straight at Ji Yao and asked, "Did you fight with your Huishe friend?... Hahaha..... I really can't wait to see Qilin Hao's face when she finds out her son is head over heels for a Huishe cub...."

He leaned forward in between the bars and continued, "She is going to skin that cub alive and I sincerely hope you will be powerful enough to stop her."

From his clenched jaw and narrowed eyes, one could tell Ji Yao was pretty upset but he didn't say anything. He shouldn't have come here but in these two days, all he could think about was Rui Fei. He didn't know what was wrong with him.

That kiss changed something in him and deep down he thought speaking to another Qilin would help. The keystone was important but that wasn't what he was hoping to find out deep inside. He wordlessly clenched the hilt of his sword till his knuckles turned white.

These were clear signs for Qilin Kai to shut up but he didn't care. In fact, he was so eager to rile Ji Yao up till he loses control. Since this was his play he came at him again trying to push his buttons.

"You can deny it all you want but it's already too late for you. The moment you found out he is the only one you can touch without feeling like your body is on fire you should have run... because when you let him stay it was already too late."

"Everyone else takes the sensation of touch for granted but not us. We are naturally allergic to everyone except our parents and once we find that one person.... it's game over. I know it appears like he likes you so much more than you like him but let me tell you a secret..... he is more important to you than you are to him."

"That is how you were designed. When he is not around you can't focus. But that's only the beginning, wait until the yearning kicks in. You will crave for him night and day, thirst after him until you lose your mind. And when jealousy, possessiveness and insecurity kick in you will go find him and make him drink your blood so he can only belong to you."

These words didn't settle well with Ji Yao, he felt a searing flame burn holes into his aetherial veins. He reached over to grab Qilin Kai's collar with heterochromia eyes, one red and one blue looking fierce like he was about to kill somebody.

Qilin Kai seemed to be enjoying himself. With that malicious smile still plastered on his face, he said, "Yes... that's what I am talking about. That raw, seething anger. Let it consume you so you can finally be a true Qilin."

Dark sinister energy seeped into Ji Yao aether the more agitated he was. It was as though a vile seed had been lurking in his body waiting for the opportune moment to come out and show his true vileness inherited from his Qilin side.

As the darkness spread, Ji Yao suddenly came back to himself. He had let Qilin Kai stir his emotions making him lose himself. Lucky for him, he had spent more time with Ji Wen rather than Qilin Hao which meant he couldn't easily lose his mind. His father's influence helped him maintain his sanity.

He shoved Qilin Kai away and turned on his heels to leave. Qilin Kai who was just about to crack this egg was so angry that he kicked the wall forgetting he had latrion in his system and the chains binding around his wrists and ankles.

Ji Yao head Qilin Kai yell something but he wasn't paying attention to him. He was struggling to calm himself down. As soon as he entered his cabin he began to frantically take off his robe. His entire body felt ablaze from within because of the rage still burning inside him.

He was sweating profusely and the veins on his neck and temples were throbbing from overstimulation. For once his OCD seemed cured and he tossed his robe on the ground before slamming on the bed with his hands covering his face. His once neatly combed hair was loosely hanging on his face as he breathed heavily.

If what Qilin Kai said was true then his mother must have gone through so much pain for the eighteen years she was apart from her husband. How hard must that have been? It must have been killing her from the inside.

After calming down a little he got up and walked over to the bookshelf with his inner robe partially open exposing a burn mark on his chest. This wasn't there before and could only have come from the fire burning within him. The burn looked really bad but Ji Yao didn't seem to notice.

What he didn't realise was how close he was to transform into a true Nocru. With a mixture of both a Raiju and Qilin bloodline that combination would have been interesting to see.

In his hand, he had a familiar wooden box. With a lamenting look, he opened it as he walked back to his bed to sit down. He wished he could talk to her. Despite their differences, he really wished they could talk. With so many things happening and these strange emotions and feelings taking over his body, he needed to speak to her.

She was supposed to teach, guide and warn of what to expect as a Qilin but because she was never there he had to rely on people like Qilin Kai to tell him what to expect.

Pulling back his hair he revealed a face full of worry and anxiety. If only he could change his DNA and become full human wouldn't that be easier? He wouldn't have to worry about the inability to control his emotions.
