Chapter 109 - Violent Outburst

The two of them stared at each other each with their own thoughts about this matter. Rui Fei was thinking about how many pieces he should tear this Nocru into while Huishe Yue was thinking of a way to prove his innocence. Stuck in a stalemate for a good second one of them at least had to say something.

That person would be Huishe Yue who abruptly dropped the stick as though getting rid of the murder weapon and said, "He was like that when I found him."

Yeah right, like who in history said this line and was believed on the spot. It seemed more like a hurried defence expressing their guilty conscience.

Just as Huishe Yue dropped the evidence the rest of the gang appeared and boy were they pointing fingers at him. Huishe Yue who had just been wrongfully accused could only explain while asking his nephew for backing.

But his nephew was busy taking care of Ji Yao ignoring the angry mob with pitchforks ready to pierce holes into him. Rui Fei carried Ji Yao out in a princess carry ready to take him out of this filthy place. Ji Yao's breathing was shallow and he had fallen into a coma.

Rui Fei knew that whatever Ji Yao did to burn the talismans must have exhausted much of his strength. In as much as he had no feelings for this uncle of his, the man was still innocent. He paused in front of Big Hei who had finally managed to gain access into this creepy place and said, "He probably exhausted much of his strength so he passed out. Just keep an eye on this weirdo lest this wasn't an accident."

Rui Fei walked out of the room and carried Ji Yao out of the tunnels with a face full of worry. Ji Yao had been through so much in just a short period of time resulting in overexertion. Rui Fei knew this was only the beginning and there would be more of such things in the future until they find Ji Wen.

It's only when Ji Wen comes back will the burdens on Ji Yao lessen. Rui Fei wished he could take all that weight off his shoulders but he couldn't. The only way he could help was to stop hiding and carry the load with him. From now on he vowed to be by Ji Yao's side and have his back through thick and thin.

When he reached the main hall of the pavilion he laid Ji Yao on the chaise before ordering the crew around to get him all the basic necessities to treat wounds. While he was waiting he wiped the blood off Ji Yao's face with a doting look in his eyes as he mumbled, "Why are you only obedient when you are asleep? You won't even let me wipe away the blood on your face while you are awake. Should I only attend to you when you are asleep?"

It was an innocent line of thought at first up until it veered in the wrong direction. He started thinking if Ji Yao wouldn't accept him he would just let him sleep like this and he would cuddle him every day. A terrifying thought indeed but he knew better than that and kept the craziness at bay.

He had a much better plan than that. He would stick by Ji Yao's side and chase away anyone who tried to take him away. Such a simple childish plan could only come from the brain of a cub with no real loving couple to emulate from. Let's forgive his immaturity for now and hope his mindset would change in the future.

He was engrossed in taking care of his male god that he didn't realise his siblings had approached him. It was only after Xiaoyu appeared wailing like a dying pig did he notice the people around.

The girl was the least bit polite touching Ji Yao while calling his name. In as much as her emotions were earnest, she looked like she was performing a heart-wrenching scene in an opera.

If they used who cried louder as a way to judge who cared more about Ji Yao then she would take the trophy. How could Rui Fei win against the high pitched wails of a pretty lady?

He wanted to ask her to lower her voice as this might disturb Ji Yao affecting his recovery but someone beat him to it. Rui Li who had recovered from her tantrum earlier said, "Will you stop crying like it's a funeral. He is not even dead yet you are crying like that."

Xiaoyu, "....."

She wasn't happy that she had been scolded by a junior but she still obediently shut her mouth. Her tears fell silently as she touched Ji Yao all over making Rui Fei very very unhappy. His face turned ugly as he watched her clutch Ji Yao's clothes with her slender fingers.

The more she touched the greater the sour feeling stuck at his throat which also meant the uglier his expression. He was eating so much vinegar that he didn't realise he had engaged his aether and began to suppress everyone around him with his seraphic energy.

Its dark aura clearly expressed his mood startling the Rui siblings. Just a second ago Rui Fei was fine then all of a sudden he began to pressure everyone out of the blue. Yes, their brother was like a firecracker prone to outbursts but these outbursts were a result of something that set him off.

For instance, if someone happened to refuse to disclose whatever little information they had on Ji Yao in the two years they had been looking for him then that would ultimately lead to an outburst. Of course, they weren't aware of the recent violent outburst when Ji Yao activated his seraphic energy.

In the two years, Rui Fei barely reacted to anything happening around them unless it had something to do with finding Ji Yao and when they found him this brother of theirs went through a revamp in personality only when he was around Ji Yao.

Rui Fei was yet again having one of his episodes but his dense pair of siblings couldn't figure out the cause for a very long time. It was only after so much suppression they realised what was wrong. Xiaoyu was clasping Ji Yao's clothes with her dainty fingers like she was clutching her lover's clothes fearing that he would leave her.

Okay, that ought to do it. Again Rui Li had to step in and save the day before Rui Fei decided to personally deal with her. She unclasped each of Xiaoyu's fingers while saying, "Jiejie, if you keep touching him like that people will misunderstand and start rumours. You don't want Yao-ge to hear about this do you?"

What rumours? What misunderstanding? Rui Li was practically sprouting nonsense just to get Xiaoyu to let go. Surprisingly Xiaoyu let go. It seemed she still regarded Rui Li as the wise all-knowing love guru. Unfortunately, she wasn't aware that Rui Li was a snake in the grass, a full-blown traitor who had jumped ship.
