Vampire Overlord System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 409 - Nyarlathotep's Intentions

-----

Bloodshot Eye had cooperated with the Outer Gods because their goal was also his goal too. His origins were a mystery to many, but he was a God that didn't belonged to this Universe.

Drifted through the Sea of Emptiness, he ended drifting ashore the Outer Void Plane by accident and was infected by the Outer Void Essence into an Outer God several millions of years ago.

He had adapted to this place and grew stronger through crossing through various challenges and tribulations made by this Outer Void, the Abyssal Outer Monstrosities he fought and devoured made him grow stronger as he traveled across this endless landscape of utter incomprehensible appearance.

As he traveled for hundreds of thousands of years, he was slowly devoured by the Outer Void's powers and his mind continued to transcend common sense. His powers continued to grow towards directions he had not thought, and his entire body mutated into an Outer God.

He was approached by the Council of Outer Gods and then joined their ranks as a mid-high ranked Outer God, who slowly crawled his way higher into the highest ranks of this organization.

His mind had truly become abyssal, dark, and grotesque, his intentions, thoughts, and emotions were warped around, and he had become truly an Outer God.

Nonetheless, unlike many of the Outer Gods of this place, he had the memories of a previous life in another Universe. He was after all a person before, not a monster born as a monster, but a person turned into a monster.

He retained this personality and his memories of old, which he tried to suppress to not appeal strangely to the others.

But it had become harder as he became the outer god of Noah, a human who was formerly the son of Azathoth, he became his warlock and through this soul connection, as he gave Noah his powers to fulfill the ultimate plan of the Outer Gods, Noah also slowly leaked his emotions, his humanity.

Although he was seen as a malevolent being, it still impacted Bloodshot Eye.

After he learned that Noah was only an item as he had originally believed they would try to recruit him, he felt a bit betrayed. He had already grown closer to him through their soul bond, even though they had not spoken ever since their first encounter.

Killing Noah to take away his soul and Origin so they could fulfill his plan… Yes, it was necessary.

But couldn't they ask him to help them instead?

Even though forcing him could work, the Outer Gods were not going to do it.

They simply preferred to strip him away of his powers and use him for their own goals without being gentle over it or anything of the sorts. They simply wanted to use him and that was it.

He was a tool.

Noah… was completely unaware of this.

And Bloodshot Eye felt like he required to tell him! But he could not.

He couldn't betray these Outer Gods and try to warn him about this ancient plot that has been going on for over a million years…

All of the pieces were all carefully being placed in this plan, the Outer Gods would rage and try to kill him if he were to ruin everything now.

He also had their trust…

And he was alone on this. Not even the playful Lucifer had grown fond of Noah or something, he had stated that the only one he cared for was Kireina, which was one the Outer Gods couldn't dare to touch. However, anyone else was not something he cared for.

So… he was left alone.

He was going to ultimately see Noah being striped away from everything he had and everything he had built against these beings who simply defied any logic he could comprehend, no matter where he went, he would die.

He was already part of this millenary plan, there was nothing he could do.

But an entity spoke to him, an entity that was the Avatar of Azathoth, or well, a fragment of it!

But why? Amongst the many spawns that Azathoth had, why did he suddenly cared about Noah now out of the sudden? It didn't make any sense at all! What was going on?

Azathoth never showed itself to be benevolent, and his avatar, Nyarlathotep, lacked such a thing as well.

At most, Nyarlathotep could be seen as a playful trickster. He had not taken any active role in the Outer Gods plan but had been overseeing it and doing nothing against it. Due to this, the Outer Gods thought that Nyarlathotep, the Avatar of Azathoth, approved of their doings.

But could this be the truth?

A fragment of Nyarlathotep contacted Bloodshot Eye as he went to rest inside of his Abyssal Domain within the Outer Void Plane.

He oversaw the Gates that led to Vedas, the world that was going to become the vessel for their triumphal entrance into the Universe once more, and the first scenario the Outer Gods had to conquer to expand their influence into the Universe and ultimately reach its core!

Lucifer cooperated into making the Era occur when Noah arrived in Vedas as it was foreseen, and now, the gates opened, and the plan officially began.

But this entity that spoke to him, which he never expected to arrive, surprised him.

Even more because it was but a fragment of the true Avatar.

Nyarlathotep had divided itself into fragments of its own Ego long ago, when its own personalities couldn't live with itself and it broke into pieces, which all became a different Nyarlathotep. They all represented an aspect of Azathoth.

And the aspect that spoke to Bloodshot Eye was the weakest but the strangest of them all.

An aspect that you would never expect to actually exist in such an abyssal being as Azathoth, but that actually did exist.

It offered Bloodshot Eye hope.

"You truly want to aid me? I have become warped, perhaps what I truly wanted wasn't this." said Bloodshot Eye.

"No, you're more than willing to do it."

"You're the strangest of them all, just as I thought…"
