Vampire Overlord System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 150 - Magic Knowledge And A New Skill Tree!

-----

Noah smiled mildly as he was enlightened.

However, not enough to warp how he was, but simply to open a new path for him and those at his side to walk through.

Through the understanding of Magic, its components, and how it encompasses all of existence through an endless flow of energy, Noah learned that everything used by everyone was more or less a form of refined magic.

Magic could come in all shapes and forms, and magic that was refined to immense heights by fusing it with other types of similar energies such as life energy, divine energy can be formed.

Divine energy, the power that gods or incredibly powerful entities wield.

In the end, such energy was also just incredibly refined magic.

The System itself was made through billions of Divine Energy Constructions, which are made of trillions of Divine Energy Runes, which are made by quadrillions of Magic Runes.

The level of complexity that the System had was baffling.

Noah had never understood it other than a "game-like thing", but now, he saw it through different eyes.

Despite not even knowing the System Master, a slight admiration grew on his Warlock's heart as he understood the depth within such an immensely complex construction of magic such as the System, which encompassed an entire world and all humans within it, even the Gates to Dungeons too, which were intrinsically connected to them to form Attribute Value Cores, Ability Cores, and items of all types, forms, shapes, and sizes.

Even things such as those items were produced through this immensely powerful magic, the one that the transcendental being, the System Master, had created without much effort.

Noah was overwhelmed by this immense power, he had never realized that he was being given such a thing.

But it seemed way too late.

His soul, his body, and his powers, alongside that of all his subordinates, were all fused with the System.

Since it appeared several years ago that the System began to fuse with the world, and now, it seemed too late to detach oneself from it.

Why? Because by doing so, Noah would die.

However, Bloodshot Eye had implied that there was this danger, that the System Master might one day detach the System when whatever it was planning to do with this planet came to an end, ending all life in an instant.

Due to this, Noah had to find a way to survive.

He needed to assimilate the runes or at least replicate them, and use an external catalyst with enormous power to insert such runes into it.

He could not detach the System from himself, but what he could do to "Escape" from it was to absorb a large part of it and then cut that part out of the rest of the System.

This way, he would never truly separated himself from the System, but he would be able to separate the part of the system stuck to him from the main system, making his own System using this fragment.

It was a wondrous plan that seemed completely insane, but it seemed possible.

Even more when Noah considered that the Blood Core itself had already begun to do this!

Unknowingly to him until this point, Noah assumed that the System was the one assimilating the Blood Core's powers, but it was in fact the other way around!

The System was in fact battling against the Blood Core!

Noah was left speechless as he learned this truth!

The System was in fact trying to control Noah's entire power and his Blood Core, but the Blood Core was viciously devouring the System bite by bite!

Although when Noah considered how vast and powerful the System was, this was like seeing a tiny dog trying to bite an elephant.

It might be able to do some damage, but ultimately, the elephant will be unfazed and could even stomp the dog to death if further provoked…

But it seemed that the System was too big and vast, and it was not being properly controlled by the System Master at the moment. Due to this, it was not counterattacking as hard as Noah could have expected.

Due to this, it was resisting and trying to bite him back, but not as much.

The Blood Core, as Noah kept growing stronger, unlocked more powers and assimilated the System capabilities, giving him Skill Trees.

Each Skill Tree Noah controlled gave him greater control over this part of the System, which he intended to make his own.

And through making it his own, he then would be able to give it to his subordinates and save them from this imminent death that would be brought when the System finally was revoked.

Sadly, it was too early to do such a thing yet!

Noah needed more, way more power to even fathom such a thing now!

But as long as he knew, and had figured out some way, he could not help but smile triumphantly.

He simply needed to do it now!

He simply needed to keep growing stronger and sharpen his powers.

And just as Noah was beginning to consider using his new powers from Bloodshot Eye, his Blood Core and the assimilated System fragments that had fused with it assimilated this knowledge and the power granted by the entity, surprising Noah with a new System Notification.

Ding!

[You have unlocked the [Warlock] Skill Tree!]

"A Skill Tree… Well, this might help me use the powers properly…"

<Skill Tree>

[Level: I]

Additional Abilities (III): [Accursed Rotting Blood Downpour: (0/5500)], [Agonizing Spectral Piercing Pain (0/6000)], [Soul Devourer (0/6500)]

Noah was startled by the quantity of Skills and the number of Skill Points required to get them. These powers seemed to be incredibly powerful Spells compacted into Skills which he could use with ease.

However, aside from this impressive Skill Tree, Noah now knew how to actually conjure spells that were not really Skills.

Simply said, Spells were actual constructions of magic independent of the system.

Noah had seen such a thing before in mage-type Hunters or on monsters.

Certain skills are like spells, and whenever they are activated, magic circles are constructed automatically, and the attack is fired.

However, the truth is that such things were not true spells, a true spell was something like a monster used, construction of magic independent of any help which was made through magic.

Noah's affinity seemed to be Blood and Darkness, so he now had to build up spells through such attributes by shaping mana without the System's help.

But why would he do that if the System can do it all?

Because Spells had liberties that Skills did not.
