Chapter 293 - The Blood Group Didn't Match.

"What is wrong with you? Your son is lying in the theatre fighting for his life, and this is the only thing you can think of right now. You as his mother is supposed to be worried about saving him, but here you are to his disappointment, worried about if his father still cares for you," the old lady scolded angrily.

"Am sorry mother, I was just worried," the woman apologized as she hurled back the tears that were threatening to roll down.

Seeing how pathetic her daughter-in-law was looking, the old lady felt sorry for her, and so calmed down before saying softly to her.

"After my grandson's life is secured, then we can worry about that matter. You can even look so dejected and hopeless, to make him feel so sorry for you, and I trust he will. Since our plan of having me admitted into the hospital this night has come to a halt, we will have to use this opportunity in front of us, to drag him back to us," the old lady said and sighed.

"Thank you, mother," the woman said in appreciation, as she began to plan on how to get her husband to take pity on her, and not mention anything about the divorce.

"Grandma, mum, what's going on, what happened to my brother?" a younger-looking lady appeared in front of the two women, she looked like she just ran a marathon.

"Darling, come and sit beside me. Your brother got into an accident," the woman said as she beckoned on her daughter.

The young lady came to sit beside her mother after greeting her grandmother.

"Mum, how did the accident happen?" the young lady asked her mother.

"We heard from the doctor that he was riding in his friend's sports car when he collided into a moving truck that was carrying some goods. That's not all, there seemed to be traces of alcohol from his breath, which means that he had been drinking before he started driving," the woman explained and broke into tears again, while the old lady sighed.

"Its ok mum, everything will be alright. How is his condition now?" the young lady inquired as she rubbed her mother's back.

"He is bleeding a lot and is in urgent need of blood. And am sure he broke some bones because the accident was quite serious, according to the doctor," the woman said while crying.

The old lady joined her to cry, but she did that quietly, unlike her daughter-in-law who behaved like she wanted the whole world to know her agony and pains.

The young girl sighed with a sullen expression on her face.

"I have warned him about driving other people's cars and drinking, but he wouldn't listen to me. You all should have scolded him too, but no you didn't! Instead, you all spoilt him and allowed him to go on with his ways. Now see where it has landed him," the young girl said with a hint of anger in her voice.

Her scolding caused her mother to cry the more.

The old lady sighed and said, "It's all our fault for spoiling him a bit too much. We are lucky that his friend was not in the car with him when the accident happened, otherwise by now we would have been scolded or arrested or even used by his friend's parents."

Just when the woman was about to say something, she saw her husband approaching them, she shut her mouth immediately, while immediately appearing like someone who had gone through a disaster, just to attract pity from her husband.

"Dad, you are here?" the young girl greeted her father.

The man just nodded at his daughter before turning to inform his mother.

"Mother, don't worry, everything will be alright. I just spoke with the doctor and got to know more about my son's condition. He may not be able to walk for at least a year, so he would have to use the wheelchair for support."

Tears slid from the old lady's eyes as she cried out, "it's all my fault for spoiling my grandson to this level and indulging him in his acts. I should have cautioned him!"

"Oh, my son! What will I do now!" the woman cried hysterically, as her daughter held her down.

"Mother calm down. I didn't say he is crippled and wouldn't be able to walk for the rest of his life, I only said that he would need to make use of the wheelchair of a year or a few years. Don't worry, he would be able to get back to his feet again," the man said, consoling his mother.

He just learned that his son suffered from a minor spinal cord injury, and broke a few bones on his legs, which would require the doctors to remove the broken bones and replace it with metal.

He didn't even give his family the full details. He felt so tired, with the sudden news and everything that was currently going on in his life, and he didn't just want to scold or blame anyone for what happened.

A minute later, the doctor came back with two nurses behind, and there was a hint of tension on their faces and steps.

Not waiting for any of the patient's family to speak up, the doctor spoke up immediately, "Am sorry to say this, but the blood didn't match with the patient's."

"What?!" all four of them exclaimed.

"Doctor, what nonsense are you talking about? How can my blood group not match with my son's?!" the man asked in a firm tone.

"My son is right doctor, what are you talking about?" the old lady asked in confusion.

"Doctor, you must be joking. What nonsense are you spewing? Are you trying to say that my husband and son are not related biologically?" the woman asked in anger, as she tried to attack the doctor, but she was held back by her daughter.

"Mum stop it! Doctor, am sure you must be mistaken," the young lady said to the doctor while still holding unto her mother.

"Am afraid to say this, but from the test result, their blood groups are totally different," the doctor announced in all seriousness.
